In this paper, we studied on the fire dispersive patterns and the fire progress at the power cord sets for low voltage appliances in the wall-model. For the experiment, we manufactured a wall-model and applied the external flame at the power cord sets. From the results, short-circuit of the power cord sets was haunted by the external flame it was disconnected with the flashing and the scattering. The fire progress on the polyvinyl chloride insulated flexibel cords is not observed because the ignition energy decreases. In case of rubber insulated flexible cords, however, the fire was progressed continuously. Molten marks were formed at a two electric wire by continuous electric discharge in power source part. A large molten mark was formed in load part. And the columnar structure and voids were observed in molten wire.

PVC insulated flexible cords are widely used as power cord sets in household electric appliances for low voltage. In this paper, we studied the thermal characteristics of power cord sets according to poor contacts between a receptacle and plug pins. In the results of experiments, poor contacts generated heat and ignited the combustibles. And the heat was transmitted to the plug body. While poor contacts were continuing, the electrical waveforms changed. Electrical accidents could be prevented by analyzing these waveforms.

일체형 코드에서는 접촉 불량, 기계적 충격 등의 부주의한 사용에 의해 전기화재가 자주발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 비닐코드 및 고무코드 등의 일체형 코드의 화재확산 패턴을 조사하기 위해 벽면모델을 모의하였다. 화재진행과 확산패턴은 고속카메라를 이용하여 측정하였다. 실험결과로부터, 일체형 코드의 화재패턴은 섬광, 비산 그리고 완전이탈 순으로 진행하였다. 외부화염에 의해 비닐코드가 고무코드보다 단락이 쉽게 발생하였다. 일체형 코드가 완전 이탈이 된 경우, 비닐코드는 착화에너지가 감소함에 따라 더 이상의 화재 진전은 이루어지지 않았지만, 고무코드는 연속적으로 화재가 진행하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

In this paper, we analyzed ignition characteristics of combustible material and the waveform of power dissipation, voltage and current by poor contact. And the surface structure of plug by poor contact was analyzed. In the results of experiment, the heat generated by poor contact and ignited the combustible material on power cord sets. The insulation material was molten and carbonized by the heat conduction though plug pit and voids were formed inside of insulation material. The waveform of voltage and power dissipation distorted because of a growth of oxidation by poor contact. In particular, in case that load was big load, the waveform of voltage and power dissipation severely distorted as with the passage of time. The surface of plug pin was changed from erosion mark to welding mark according to big load. The results will be applied to the cause analysis of electrical disaster.

본 논문에서는 콘센트와 플러그 접속부에서의 접촉불량에 의한 열화특성에 대하여 실험, 분석하였다. 부하의 크기와 시간 경과에 따른 전기적 특성을 분석하였으며 도전 재료와 절연재료의 외형, 표면구조, 열화특성을 분석하였다. 실험결과는 접촉불량에 의한 전기화재 예방과 화재원인 분석에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
