$Cymbidium$ 'Purple Princess' ('Show Girl' x 'Eiko') is a new cultivar having dark purple sepal and petal (RHS, RP59A) with purple lip (RHS, RP59A). A cross was made between pink colored $C.$'Show Girl' as maternal line and dark purple colored $C.$ 'Eiko' as paternal line in 1994. It was preliminarily selected as Line No. 94019267 in 1999 considering the characters of flower shape and color, leaf growing shape and growth habit in normal culture condition. Multiplication, cultivation, and characteristic trials were conducted from 2000 to 2003. The line was named as Wongyo F1-7 and phenotype was characterized in 2004 as a new 'Purple Princess'. 'Purple Princess' has about 13.2 flowers per flower stalk and flower size of 5.2 cm. General appearance of petals and sepals is slightly incurved shape. The plant size is intermediate having erect peduncle. Blooming starts from early December under optimal culture condition. Leaf attitude and twisting is erect and very weak respectively. Erect leaf will be suitable for growing and handling in the nursery as pot orchid flowers.

A New Cymbidium variety "Yellow Evening" was developed from a cross between "Oji" and "Valley Flower Cherry Life" followed by seedling and line selections at the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science (NIHHS), Rural Development Administration (RDA) in 2004. After investigation of the characteristics and selection for 9 years (1996-2004), it has been selected specifically pot orchid flower. "Yellow Evening" has medium plant height and semi-erect peduncle. It has medium flowering habit and brownish yellow flowers (RHS, Y11B: petal and sepal) with grayed purple GP183A) spot on lip, when fully opened. Each peduncle has 15.3 flowers with diameter of about 7.4 cm. It has adequate peduncle height, with some curved and spreading petal and sepals. Under optical culture conditions, it started to bloom early-winter (November).

The purpose of this study was to investigate status survey on flower products with high sales by item and peak season. The survey was implemented for 103 people who are running flower shop and are members of association for Engineer Floral Design who are acquired Craftsman Floral Design and Engineer Floral Design. The result of this study, the peak season for the sale of flower product is showed May (52.0%) and February (24.3%). The reason for the selection was in May, month of family, teacher's day, etc. in February, personnel transfer and graduation ceremony. As a result of researching flower products with high sales volume by category, Cut flowers were ranked the first place of bouquet (51.5%%, 40.3%) and the second place of basket (28.8%, 37.5%) on annual and peak season. And also, Corsage, which was 6^th (1.8%) in the annual sales volume survey, increased to 3^rd (8.0%) during peak season. Pot plants were ranked 1st of foliage plant (50.6%, 51.3%) and 2nd tropical orchid·oriental orchids (27.4%, 28.3%) on annual and peak season. And also, Charcoal and bonsai, which were unresponsive in the annual sales survey, increased sales volume to 0.7% and 2.6%, respectively, during peak season. Processed flowers were highest ranked dry flower (45.3%, 39.5%), preserved flower (27.7%, 37.2%) on both non peak season and peak season. And then followed by artificial flower, pressed flower and collage.

Two orchid species of Calanthe discolor Lindl. and C. discolor for. sieboldii (Decne.) Ohwi, which have different form flower color and size. They were crossed in mid April by artificial pollination, and the F1 hybrid seeds were collected mid October. Germination of seeds was investigated on pre-treatment of seeds and under the various environmental conditions. Germination was promoted by moisture absorption and ultrasonic treatment of seeds. Dark culture of F1 hybrid seeds enhanced germination and protocorm formation, and development into seedlings compared with light culture. Although, plant growth regulators such as NAA and BA had a slightly promotive effect on seed germination and protocorm growth, regenerated seeding were showed abnormal growth patterns. Regenerated F1 hybrid plantlets were successfully transferred to pot.
