With rapid growth of content demands, device-to-device (D2D) content sharing is exploited to effectively improve the service quality of users. Considering the limited storage space and various content demands of users, caching schemes are significant. However, most of them ignore the influence of the asynchronous content reuse and the selfishness of users. In this work, the user preferences are defined by exploiting the user-oriented content popularity and the current caching situation, and further, we propose the social-aware rate, which comprehensively reflects the achievable contents download rate affected by the social ties, the caching indicators, and the user preferences. Guided by this, we model the collaborative caching problem by making a trade-off between the redundancy of caching contents and the cache hit ratio, with the goal of maximizing the sum of social-aware rate over the constraint of limited storage space. Due to its intractability, it is computationally reduced to the maximization of a monotone submodular function, subject to a matroid constraint. Subsequently, two social-aware collaborative caching algorithms are designed by leveraging the standard and continuous greedy algorithms respectively, which are proved to achieve different approximation ratios in unequal polynomial-time. We present the simulation results to illustrate the performance of our schemes.

In this research, a multi-objective optimal design of a scroll compressor lower frame was approximated, and the design parameters of the lower frame were selected. The sensitivity of the design parameters was induced through a parameter analysis, and the thickness was determined to be the most sensitive parameter to stress and deflection. All of the design parameters regarding the mass are sensitive factors. It was formulated for the problem about stress and deflection to be caused by the axial load. The sensitivity of the design variables was determined using an orthogonal array for the parameter analysis. Using the central composite and D-optimal designs, a second polynomial approximation of the objective and constraint functions was formulated and the accuracy was verified through an R-square. These functions were applied to the optimal design program (NSGA-II). Through a CAE analysis, the effectiveness of the central composite and D-optimal designs was determined.

PGA(phase gradient autofocus) has been widely used to remove motion induced phase errors in the ISAR(inverse synthetic aperture radar) imaging. The critical process for the processing time and image quality is windowing stage in PGA. In this paper, the new method to determine window size based on polynomial least square approximation is proposed. Moreover, dominant range bins are selected for efficient phase error estimation, which improve image quality and speed up convergence. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm provides high quality ISAR images while computational efficiency of inherent PGA is retained.

This paper deals with the dynamic characteristics of the shaft with impeller model which is the most important part in developing the resin mixing machine. Through reverse engineering, it is possible to make the shaft with impeller geometry model which is necessary vibration characteristic analysis by commercial impeller. The natural frequency analysis and structural analysis using finite element analysis software are performed on the imported commercial shaft with impeller model. The most important fundamental natural frequency of the shaft with impeller model is around 14.5 Hz, which well agrees with modal testing. The most effective design variables were extracted by ANOM(analysis of means) and pareto chart. This paper presents approximation 2nd order polynomial as design variables using RSM(response surface methodology). Generally, RSM take 2 or 3 design variables, but this method uses 5 design variables with table of mixed orthogonal array. Further more, the analyzed result of the commercial shaft with impeller is to be utilized for the structural design of resin chock mixing machine.
Degradation of reinforced concrete (RC) structures due to chloride penetration followed by reinforcement corrosion has been a serious problem in civil engineering for many years. The numerical simulation methods at present are mainly finite element method (FEM) and finite difference method (FDM), which are based on mesh. Mesh generation in engineering takes a long time. In the present article, the numerical solution of chloride transport in concrete is analyzed using radial point interpolation method (RPIM) and element-free Galerkin (EFG). They are all meshless methods. RPIM utilizes radial polynomial basis, whereas EFG uses the moving least-square approximation. A Galerkin weak form on global is used to attain the discrete equation, and four different numerical examples are presented. MQ function and appropriate parameters have been proposed in RPIM. Numerical simulation results are compared with those obtained from the finite element method (FEM) and analytical solutions. Two case of chloride transport in full saturated and unsaturated concrete are analyzed to test the practical applicability and performance of the RPIM and EFG. A good agreement is obtained among RPIM, EFG, and the experimental data. It indicates that RPIM and EFG are reliable meshless methods for prediction of chloride concentration in concrete structures.

This paper presents an approximate analytical solution to a two-region one-dimensional model for the charging process of stratified thermal storage tanks with variable inlet temperature in the presence of momentum-induced mixing. Based on the superposition principle, an arbitrary-varying inlet temperature is decomposed into inherent discontinuous steps and continuous intervals approximated as a finite number of piecewise linear functions. This approximation allows the temperature of the upper perfectly-mixed layer to be expressed in terms of constant, linear and exponential functions with respect to time. Applying the Laplace transform technique to the model equation for the lower thermocline layer subject to each of three representative interfacial conditions yields compact-form solutions, a linear combination of which constitutes the final temperature profile. A systematic method for deriving solutions to the plug-flow problem having polynomial-type boundary conditions is also established. The effect of adiabatic exit boundary on solution behaviors proves to be negligible under the actual working conditions, which justifies the assumption of semi-infinite domain introduced in the solution procedure. Finally, the approximate solution is validated by comparing it with an exact solution obtained for a specific variation of inlet temperature. Excellent agreements between them suffice to show the necessity and utility of this work.
Recently, a number of algorithms have been proposed for numerical evaluation of Hankel transforms as these transforms arise naturally in many areas of science and technology. All these algorithms depend on separating the integrand $rf(r)J_{\upsilon}(pr)$ into two components; the slowly varying component rf(r) and the rapidly oscillating component $J_{\upsilon}(pr)$. Then the slowly varying component rf(r) is expanded either into a Fourier Bessel series or various wavelet series using different orthonormal bases like Haar wavelets, rationalized Haar wavelets, linear Legendre multiwavelets, Legendre wavelets and truncating the series at an optimal level; or approximating rf(r) by a quadratic over the subinterval using the Filon quadrature philosophy. The purpose of this communication is to take a different approach and replace rapidly oscillating component $J_{\upsilon}(pr)$ in the integrand by its Bernstein series approximation, thus avoiding the complexity of evaluating integrals involving Bessel functions. This leads to a very simple efficient and stable algorithm for numerical evaluation of Hankel transform.
This study aimed to develop a simple and effective method to facilitate the experimental research on mechanical properties of masonry under biaxial compressive stress. A series of tests on full-scale brick masonry panels under biaxial compression have been performed in limited principal stress ratios oriented at various angles to the bed joints. Failure modes of tested panels were observed and failure features were analyzed to reveal the mechanical behavior of masonry under biaxial compression. Based on the experimental data, the failure curve in terms of two orthotropic principal stresses has been presented and the failure criterion of brick masonry in the form of the tensor polynomial has been established, which indicate that the anisotropy for masonry is closely related to the difference of applied stress as well as the orientation of bed joints. Further, compared with previous failure curves and criteria for masonry, it can be found that the relative strength of mortar and block has a considerable effect on the degree of anisotropy for masonry. The test results demonstrate the validity of the proposed experimental method for the approximation of masonry failure under biaxial compressive stress and provide valuable information used to establish experimentally based methodologies for the improvement of masonry failure criteria.

To find the working condition is one of the important factors in precision machining. In this study, we analyzed maximum working temperature by infra-red camera and surface roughness in side wall end milling using design of experiment (DOE): RSM(response surface methodology), ANOM(analysis of means) and ANOVA(analysis of variance) by table of orthogonal array. ANOM and ANOVA are well adapted to select sensitivity of design variables for maximum working temperature and surface roughness. The effective design variables and their levels should be determined using ANOM, ANOVA. RSM is presented 2nd order approximation polynomial of maximum working temperature and surface roughness is composed with design variables. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed procedure using design of experiment : table of orthogonal array, ANOM, ANOVA and RSM can be easily utilized to solve the problem of working condition.
Many classes of nonlinear systems can be represented by Volterra kernel expansion. Therefore, identification of Volterra kernels of nonlinear system is an important task for obtaining the nonlinear characteristics of the nonlinear system. Although one of the authors has recently proposed a new method for obtaining the Volterra kernels of a nonlinear system by use of M-sequence and correlation technique, our mettled of nonlinear system identification is limited to Wiener-type nonlinear system and we can not apply this method to the identification of Hammerstein-type nonlinear system. This paper describes a new mettled for obtaining Volterra kernels of Hammerstein nonlinear system by adding a linear element in front of tile Hammerstein system. First we calculate the linear element of Hammerstein system by use of conventional correlation method. Secondly, we put a linear element in front of Hammerstein system. Then the total system becomes Wiener-type nonlinear system. Therefore we can use our method on Volterra kernel identification by use of M-sequence. Thus we get the coefficients of the approximation polynomial of nonlinear element of Hammerstein system. From the results of simulation, a good agreement with theoretical considerations is obtained, showing a wide applicability of our method.
