We synthesized microcapsule absorbent with crosslinked poly(styrene-$alt$-maleic anhydride) (PSMA) as a core and PSMA as a shell by a precipitation polymerization method for the delayed absorption of excess water in cement mortar. cPSMA-PSMAs with core-shell structure were synthesized with ratios of 1/1, 1/2 and 1/3 as core monomer mass to shell monomer mass to control shell thickness. We observed the hydrolysis of PSMA in cement-saturated aqueous solution by a FTIR spectrometer. We observed good core-shell structure microcapsules for 1/2(cPSMA #3), but observed incomplete core-shell structure for 1/1(cPSMA #2) and 1/3(cPSMA #4) of core/shell monomer ratios. The swelling ratio of cPSMA #3 in cement-saturated aqueous solution was increased until 20 min. After that it was decreased until 2 hrs swelling time, and they started to increase again. The viscosities of cement paste with cPSMA #3 microcapsules were very slowly increased until 1 hr and increased fast after 1.5 hrs. Cement mortar with 0.5 wt% cPSMA #1 having only core part showed about 5% increase in compressive strength compared to that of plain cement mortar. cPSMA #3 added cement mortar showed the highest compressive strength with 7% increase.
A series of poly(imide-aramid-sulfone)s with alternatingly introduced imide/aramid groups were prepared by reacting divinyl sulfone (DVS) and $N^1,N^4$-bis(4-(vinylsulfonyl)phenyl)terephthalamide (2) with pyromellitic diimide. Three model compounds, N-[2-(p-aminophnenylsulfonyl)ethyl]phthalimide (3), 2,2'-(2,2'-sulfonylbis(ethane-2,1-diyl))diisoindoline-1,3-dione (4), and N,N-bis(4-(2-(1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)ethylsulfonyl)phenyl)terephthalamide (5), resembling polymers were prepared with good yields by reacting p-aminophenyl vinyl sulfone, DVS, and 2 with phthalimide. Condensation polymerization was carried out by Michael-type addition reaction of the difunctional phthalimide group with the DVS group in the presence of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAH), resulting in poly(imide-aramid-sulfone)s 6-12 with moderate molecular weights and good yields. They were highly soluble in polar solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, N-methylpyrrolidinone and tetrahydrofuran. The ratios of DVS/2 were 1/0, 3/1, 2/1, 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, and 0/1. Molecular weight and physical properties such as solubility, viscosity, and thermal properties of the polymers were examined.
Kind of monomer(MMA, EA, BA, St)and the monomer ratio(80/20 to 20/80) where changed in the preparation of the core shell binder, and property was improved the plasma processing. Each material changed by plasma treatment time($1{\sim}10\;s$) to change to measure the tensile strength, contact angle and adhesion peel strength for the core shell binder optimal conditions for handling the output of the surface treatment. The type of polymerization and composition of the binder is a regardless initiator of APS, the reaction temperature of $85^{\circ}C$ to 0.3 wt% of the surfactant used to indicate when the conversion rate was the highest, core shell composite particle binder got two glass temperature curves. Core shell binder after the plasma processing contact angle change is the PEA/PSt 38 percent of cases within five seconds to indicate slight decrease was a decline rapidly if not handled $0^{\circ}$ to reach. Tensile strength PSt/PMMA varies $46.71{\sim}46.27\;kg_f$/2.5 cm and adhesion strength PEA/PMMA varies $7.89{\sim}14.44\;kg_f$/2.5 cm increases. Overall, adhesion strength of core shell composite particle is in the order of order PEA>PBA>PSt for shell monomer MMA.

We report on the preparation and characterization of sulfonated polymer membranes containing perfluorocyclobutane (PFCB) units and fluorene units. The polymers were prepared through three synthetic steps, that is, the synthesis of a trifluorovinylether-terminated monomer, its thermal polymerization, and post-sulfonation using chlorosulfonic acid. A series of sulfonated polymers with different ion exchange capacity (IEC) were prepared by changing the content of chlorosulfonic acid during the post-sulfonation reaction. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, $^{1}H-NMR,\;^{19}F-NMR$, and Mass spectroscopy. As the content of chlorosulfonic acid increased, the SD, IEC, water uptake, and ion conductivity of the sulfonated polymer membranes increased. The sulfonated polymer 4 showed higher values of ion conductivity than the Nafion-$115^{\circledR}$ in a wide range of temperatures ($25{\sim}80^{\circ}C$).
Polydiacetylene(PDA)-based sensors possess a number of properties that can be successfully applied for label-free detection system. PDA is one of the most attractive color-generating materials, with growing applications as sensors. Here we introduce various PDA-based devices, used as biosensor, chemosensor, thermosensor, and optoelectronics sensor. In general, PDA liposomes and films are closely packed and properly designed for polymerization via 1,4-addition reaction to form an ene-yne alternating polymer chain. PDA-based two/three dimensional structures have been used for colorimetric or fluorescent devices, sensing biological as well as chemical components. This color-generating material also present a very high charge carrier mobility, allowing its application as field-effect transistor (FET). The immobilized PDA structures or films have distinct advantages for the detection of low concentration target molecules over the aqueous solution-based detection systems. In the present review, reported detection methods by using various PDA structures are summarized with updated references.
To use the filter materials for reduction of carbonyl compounds in cigarette mainstream smoke, the bead type cation and anion exchangers were synthesized by the suspension polymerization of GMA and DVB followed by the subsequent functionalization with sodium sulfite and diethylamine, respectively. FT-IR/ATR was used to characterize functionalized copolymer formation by sulfonation and amination, and the morphology change of ion exchangers according to the adsorption of cigarette mainstream smoke were observed by SEM. Ion exchange capacity, functionalization yield and adsorption properties of carbonyl compounds in cigarette mainstream smoke were investigated. The highest functionalization yields and ion exchange capacity were obtained at 5 wt% DVB content in co-monomer. The adsorption amount of carbonyl compounds in cigarette mainstream smoke of anion exchanger was higher than that of cation exchanger because of its electron delocalization in carbonyl group. The adsorption efficiency was increased in the presence of moisture. This results indicated that the anion exchanger was applicable for cigarette filter material because of its large ion exchange capacity and rapid ion exchange reaction.
The macroreticular (MR) type glycidylmethacrylate (GMA)-divinylbenzene (DVB) copolymer (polyglycidylmethacrylate) beads (RG) were prepared by a suspension polymerization using 0~100 vol % of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane (TMP) as a diluent. Macroreticular type cation exchange resins containing phosphoric acid groups (RGP) were prepared by the reaction of GMA-DVB copolymer and poly (glycidyl methacrylate) bead (RG) with phosphoric acid in the presence of benzene. In this study, the effect of degree of crosslinking and the amount of the diluent on physical properties and adsorbability of uranium of RGP resins were investigated respectively. The chemical and physical properties of RGP resins were affected by both of the amount of the diluent and the degree of crosslinking. The effect of degree of crosslinking on the adsorbed amount of uranium for RGP resins were decreased in the order of $$RGP-10(50){\sim_=}RGP-1(50)>RGP-2(50)>RGP-5(50)>RGP-0$$. The effect of the diluent amount were as follows RGP-2(100)>RGP-2(75)>RGP-2(50)>RGP-2(30)>RGP-2(0). The crosslinking degree effect on uranium adsorbability depended on pore structure, cation exchange capability and swelling ratio. On the other hand, the effect of the diluent amount were relied on surface area and pore structure raher than cation exchange capability.
The IPA-co-HDO-co-(TPA/MA) copolymers for all-vanadium redox flow battery were synthesized by melt condensation polymerization using isophthalic acid(IPA), 1,6-hexandiol (HDO), terephthalic acid(TPA) and maleic anhydride(MA). The amination of chloromethylated IPA-co- HDO-co-(TPA/MA)(CIHTM) copolymer was carried out using trimethylamine, and the anion exchange membrane was also prepared by UV crosslinking reaction. The structure and thermal stability of IHTM copolymers were confirmed by FTIR, $^1H$ NMR, and TGA analysis. The anion membrane properties such as water uptake, ion exchange capacity, electric resistance and electrical conductivity, were measured by gravimetry, titration and LCR meter. The efficiency of the all-vanadium redox flow battery was analyzed. The ion exchange capacity, electric resistance and electrical conductivity were 1.10 meq/g, $1.98{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, and 0.009 S/cm, respectively. The efficiency of charge-discharge, voltage, and energy for the allvanadium redox flow battery were 96.5, 74.6, 70.0%, respectively.

Liquid crystalline poly(allylsulfone) networks having $SO_2$ in a main chain and mesogens in a side chain were synthesized and their gas permeability and permselectivity were determined. The monomer II having two allyl groups on the each end group was able to form polymer networks by polymerization reaction, while the monomer I having only one allyl group was not. Molecular motion of the poly(allylsulfone) networks were retarded with increasing the cross-linking density, and the segmental motion of networks was developed enough to show isotropic phase transition. Gas permeabilities of poly(II-5 $01/I-OCH_3$ 99) were 2.58 baller for $O_2$ and 18.4 barrer for $H_2$. It means that hydrogen gas are 7 times more permeable than oxygen. Its permselectivities were high as 23.9 for ${\alpha}(H_2/N_2)$. The permselectivity was increased with increasing the cross-linking density. For example, ${\alpha}(H_2/N_2)$ was 36.8 in poly(II-5 $10/I-OCH_3$ 90), which was shown to be the highest value among these poly(allylsulfone) networks.

This study intended to manufacture high quality cement, such as solving the quality problem of cement which has been emerging recently, along with improving grinding efficiency. To this end, the synthesis of melamine-functional pulverizing agents and the physical properties of cement applying them were reviewed and the reaction was carried out by dividing the melamine airborne compound into three stages of polymerization using methylation, sulfonation, and acid catalyst to improve the crushing efficiency of cement clinker and the physical properties of manufactured cement. The obtained melamine type copolymer was applied to the grinding process of cement clinker. And it's grinding efficiency and compressive strength were compared with DEG(diethylene glycol) and TIPA(triisopropanol amine). When it comes to the grinding efficiency, by lowering surface energy with stable adsorption from organic polymer to cement particles, the fineness showed 4-6% up. In the meantime, the compression strength hiked 30% from its initial strength compared to the conventional DEG. At the age of 28days, the strength showed approximately 13% improvement. Therefore, it is confirmed that the overall quality has been elevated in comparison with the conventional one.
