The purpose of this study is to evaluate the adhesion in tension of polymer-modified mortars according to curing conditions. From the test results, the adhesion in tension is seriously affected by type of curing conditions compared with type of polymer dispersions or polymer-cement ratios. The maximum adhesion in tension of EVA-modified mortar with polymer-cement ratio of 20% cured by standard condition is about 1.81 times, the cement mortar cured in water. It is apparent that the adhesion in tension of polymer-modified mortars according to raising of polymer-cement ratio is also much more improved irrespective of type of polymer dispersions and curing conditions.

The purpose of this study is to clarify chemical resistance of polymer-cement slurry coated reinforcing bars. Polymer cement slurry coated reinforcing bars were showed the good state to the bending resistance, impact resistance, adhesive strength, but exact data of the chemical resistance do not exist. Through the experimental, it is to certify chemical resistance of polymer cement slurry coated reinforcing bars. In this study, polymer cement slurry coated reinforcing bars are prepared with two types of polymer, polymer-cement ratios of 50%, 100%, 150%, coating thickness, curing periods of 3, 7, 28days, and tested for chemical resistance as KS(Korea Standard). From the test results, chemical resistance of polymer cement slurry coated reinforcing bars used by acrylic and St/BA emulsion were showed excellent without concerned polymer-cement ratios, curing period except for 1% aqueous solution $H_2SO_4$. But polymer cement coated reinforcing bar used by acrylic emulsion is inferior to aqueous solution NaOH.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of curing conditions on adhesion in tension of polymer-modified mortar to cement mortar substrate in comparision with ordinary cement mortar. The polymer-modifies mortars using two polymer dispersions and a redispersible polymer power are prepared with various polymer-cement ratios, and tested for the adhesion in tension of the specimens subjected to five curing conditions. From the test results, the adhesion in tension of polymer-modified mortars tends to increase with increasing polymer-cement ratio irrespective of the polymer types and curing conditions. It is apparent that adhesion in tension of polymer-modified mortars is considerably influenced by curing conditions.

The effects of polymer-binder ratio and ceramic powder content on the drying shringage and strength of polymer-modified pastes using redispersible polymer powders and ceramic powder are examined. As a result, the drying shrinkage of the polymer-modified pastes using redispersible polymer powders tend to decrease with increasing polymer-binder ratio and ceramic powder content. Regardless of the type of polymer powder, the tensile strength and adhesion in tension of the polymer-modified pastes with ceramic powder tend to increase with increasing polymer-binder ratio and ceramic powder content.

In order to improve the poor water solubility of aceclofenac, it was loaded into solid Kollidon VA 64 dispersion prepared by spray drying and rotary evaporation methods using different drug and polymer ratios. Morphology and physicochemical behavior of the aceclofenac loaded solid dispersions was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Encapsulation efficiency and dissolution behavior in a simulated intestinal juice of aceclofenac in the solid dispersions was measured using HPLC and the latter was compared with that of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and Airtal$^{(R)}$. It was demonstrated that two methods could significantly improve the dissolution behavior of aceclofenac.
Olmesartan affiliated to biopharmaceutics classification system class 2 is a poorly water soluble drug. For this reason, olmesartan showed a low bioavailability and a lot of difficulties in the process of designing the pharmaceutical formulation. We prepared the solid dispersions of olmesartan. We confirmed the dissolution rate of drug which was prepared by manufacturing. The pharmaceutical formulation of solid dispersions was designed by using PVP as water soluble polymer. We analyzed morphological feature of solid dispersion by employing a scanning electron microscope. Then, the crystalline property of solid dispersion was confirmed through X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimeter. Also, the chemical change of solid dispersion was confirmed by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. In vitro dissolution test was used to analyze the dissolution rate of solid dispersion. The prepared solid dissolution olmesartan confirmed the dissolution rate in the pH 1.2. It was compared with olmetec and improved dissolution rate through solid dispersion.
The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the air content, setting time, drying shrinkage and strength of high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result, the air content of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tends to decrease nth increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content. Regardless of the antifoamer content, the setting time of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tends to delayed with increasing polymer-cement ratio. Irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content. Regardless of the antifoamer content, the flexural and tensile strengths of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tends to increase with increasing polymer-cement ratio, and tend to decrease with increasing shrinkage-reducing agent content. However, the compressive strength of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decreases with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.
These experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of seed coating with ten environmentally acceptable polymers, on germination percentage, water uptake, respiration, emergence and seedling growth characteristics. The water absorption of polymer-coated seeds in saturation condition was highest in klucel and lowest in polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP), and that in water was highest in klucel and lowest in maltrin. Respiration rates of polymer-coated seeds in Hwayoungbyeo and Ilpumbyeo were lower than those of none-coated seeds, and those in Daecheongbyeo and Jinmibyeo were higher than that of none-coated seeds, and those of sepiret coated seeds were higher than PVP coated seeds. The germination polimer-coated seed was reduced by one percentage by coating with seed coating machine. Germination percentage was not affected by any of polymer coating in high quality seed, but there were significant effects in low quality seed coating with waterlock, surelease 46 and sepiret significantly reduced germination some cultivars. Germination percentage after accelated ageing treatment were slightly higher most of polymer-coated seeds than in none-coated seeds, but those of sepiret-and klucel-coated seeds were lower significantly. Germination percentage of seeds coated with daran 8600, rnaltrin, sacrust and opadry were enhanced slightly under cold test other polimers reduced germination. The seedling height of polymer-coated seeds were longer than those of none-coated seeds, but those of waterlock, PVP and maltrin coating seeds were shorter, seedling hight was shortened by polimer coating under cold test. Polymer-coated seeds showed higher emergence percentage, shorter emergence time in field condition. The highest emergence percentage and the shortest emergence time was shown at 90% soil moisture content.
In this paper, we describe a new method to form polymer thin films, in which carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are homogeneously distributed so that they can strengthen the mechanical property of resulting polymer film. To do so, we first homogeneously mixed CNTs with polymer in a DMF solvent. With the assistance of ultrasonic nebulizer, the polymer/CNT solution was then aerosolized into micro-sized droplets and finally turned into solidified polymer/CNT composite particles by gas-phase drying process. As the results of SEM and TEM analysis, CNTs were found to be homogeneously immobilized in the polymer matrix particles due to rapid drying process in the gas phase. For comparison purpose, (i) the polymer/CNTs composite particles prepared by aerosol processing method and (ii) polymer/CNTs sheets prepared by simple solution-evaporation method were employed to form polymer/CNTs composite thin films using a hot press. As the result, the aerosol processing of composite particles was found to be a much more effective method to form homogeneously distributed-CNTs in the polymer matrix thin film.
Conventional viewing angle switching electrode requires pixel division and additional liquid crystal panel. Hence the conventional viewing angle switching has low aperture ratio and high thickness. In this paper we proposed new viewing angle switching using hybrid aligned nematic mode by fringe-field electrode field (named HAN-FFS) with single liquid crystal panel. The fringe-field switching electrode is located at the bottom, and the additional common electrode is located at the top of the cell to control viewing angle. The proposed device is free from additional liquid crystal panel and pixel division. Consequently, the suggested structure has not only high aperture ratio but also show an excellent potential for viewing angle switching.
