다각형 클리핑 알고리즘(Polygon Clipping Algorithm)을 이용한 배구경기 분석 프로그램 개발 (Development of Volleyball Match Analysis Program through Polygon Clipping Algorithm)

  • The current study developed the analysis program by employing the Polygon Clipping Algorithm to calculate the open area on the court when players try to spike a ball. The program consists of two kinds of output screen. First, on the main output screen, it is possible to calculate both blocked area by net and blockers, and opened area to avoid the blocked area when players spike the ball. Additionally, the secondary output screen shows the moving path of setter and the location of set. Main output screen indicates hitting points of spiking, blocking, and open area. Also, it is possible to analyze the movement of setter, location of set, and hitting point of attacker. The program was tested by comparing real coordinate value and location coordinate value which is operated on the program. To apply this program in the field, future study needs to develop the program that can calculate three dimensions coordinate fast by tracking the location of players or ball in real time.

다해상도 웨이블렛 분석 기법을 이용한 영상 모자이크 (Image Mosaic using Multiresolution Wavelet Analysis)

  • 최근 위성 탑재 센서의 종류와 영상의 공간해상도가 다양해지고 서로 다른 시기에 관측 수집된 영상자료를 모자이크하여 지형공간정보체계(GIS)와 같은 응용분야에서의 활용에 대한 필요성이 점차 커지고 있다. 영상 모자이크에는 영상정합, 분광정보 조정과 같은 다양한 기법들이 필요하다. 웨이블렛 변환 기반 영상정합 기법을 적용하여 영상 모자이크의 자동화에 대해 연구하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 폴리곤 클리핑 기법을 적용하여 두 영상에서 중복 영역을 추출하고자 중복영역에 대하여 형상 기반 정합과 영역 기반 정합을 동시에 적용하는 웨이블렛 변환 기법을 이용함으로써 자동으로 접합점을 추출하였다. 또한 영상 모자이크를 수행함에 있어서 두 영상의 분광 정보를 조정하기 위한 방사 보정기법은 히스토그램 정합 기법을 적용하여 연구 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 적용한 폴리곤 클리핑 기법 결과로 중복영역과 모자이킹 영역을 자동을 추출할 수 있었다. 그리고 다해상도 웨이블렛 분석 기법을 이용하여 특징점에 대해 영상정합을 수행하고 이를 이용하여 모자이킹 접합선을 추출한 결과 접합부분에서 불연속 부분 없이 모자이킹 영상을 생성할 수 있었다.

공차를 고려한 다각형 영역의 내외부 판별 알고리즘 (Tolerance-based Point Classification Algorithm for a Polygonal Region)

  • This paper details a robust and efficient algorithm for point classification with respect to a polygon in 2D real number domain. The concept of tolerance makes this algorithm robust and consistent. It enables to define‘on-boundary’ , which can be interpreted as either‘in-’or‘out-’side region, and to manage rounding errors in floating point computation. Also the tolerance is used as a measure of reliability of point classifications. The proposed algorithm is based on a ray-intersection technique known as the most efficient, in which intersections between a ray originating from a given test point and the boundary of a region are counted. An odd number of intersections indicates that the point is inside region. For practical examples the algorithm is most efficient because most edges of the polygon region are processed by simple bit operations.

  • The painting process of large ships is an intense manual operation that typically comprises 9-12% of the total shipbuilding cost. Accordingly, shipbuilders need to estimate the required amount of anti-corrosive coatings and painting resources for inventory and cost control. This study aims to develop a software system which enables the shipbuilders to estimate paint area using existing 3D CAD ship structural models. The geometric information of the ships structure are extracted from the existing shipbuilding CAD/CAM system and used to create painting zones. After specifying the painting zones, users can generate the paint faces by clipping structural parts inside each zone. Finally, the paint resources may be obtained from the product of the paint areas and required paint thickness. Implementing the developed software system to real shipbuilders' operations has contributed to improved productivity, faster resource estimation, better accuracy, and fewer coating defects over their conventional manual calculation methods for painting resource estimation.

An Effective Algorithm for Transmitted Solar Radiation Calculation through Window Glazing on a Clear Day

  • The main objective of this study is to provide an effective algorithm of the transmitted solar radiation calculation through window glazing on a clear day. This algorithm would be used in developing a computer program for fenestration system analysis and shading device design. Various simulation methods have been evaluated to figure out the most accurate and effective procedure in estimation of transmitted solar radiation on a tilted surface on a clear day. Characteristics of simulated results of each step have been scrutinized by comparing them with measured results of the site as well as results from other simulation programs. Generally, the Duffie & Beckman's solar calculation method introducing the HDKR anisotropic model provided the most reliable simulation results. The DOE-2 program usually provided over-estimated simulation results. The estimation of extraterrestrial solar radiation and beam normal radiation were conducted pretty accurately. However, the solar radiation either on horizontal surface or on tilted surface involves complicated factors in estimation. Even though the estimation results were close to the real measured data during summer when solar intensity is getting higher, the estimation provided more error when solar intensities were getting weaker. The convex polygon clipping algorithm with homogeneous coordinates was fastest model in calculation of sunlight to shaded area ratio. It could not be applied because of its shape limitation.
