A synchronized mobile agent in Distributed Database Environments (분산 DB 환경에서 동기화 이동에이전트)

  • This paper design and implements a synchronized agent mechanism that be able to synchronize SFT (Slow Frequency Transaction) data among e-business processes in distributed environment. This synchronized agent system is adopted to use mobile agent to guarantee the interoperability of the distributed processes and to solve some problems at the client/server architecture and proposes a policy to synchronize data of e-business processes on the any platforms of distributed heterogeneous systems. The proposed synchronization policy is based on the time-stamp transaction with the system priority on the unicasting transportation.

Conflict Resolution for Data Synchronization in Multiple Devices (다중 디바이스에서 데이터 동기화를 위한 충돌 해결)

  • As the mobile environment has been generalized, data synchronization with mobile devices or mobile device and PC/server is required. To deal with the problem, the consortium was established by the companies, such as Motorola, Ericsson, and Nokia, and released SyncML(Synchronization Markup Language) as a standard of industrial area for interoperating with data synchronization and various transmission protocol. But, in synchronization process, when more than two clients requested data synchronization, data conflict can be happened. This paper studies the various conflict reasons that can happen in data synchronization processes and groups them systematically Through the analyzed information, we compose the Change Log Information(CLI) that can keep track of the chased information about synchronization. And we suggest an operation policy using CLI. Finally, we design an algorithm and adapt the policy as a method for the safety and consistency of data.

  • It is strongly beliefed that Video on Demand(VOD) will become one of the most promising services in Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network(B-ISDN) for the nest generation VOD service can be classified into two types of services 'Near VOD(NVOD) and Interactive VOD(IVOD). For both services, some video servers should be installed at some nodes(especially, at the root node for NVOD service) in the tree structued VOD network,so that each node with video server stores video programs and distribules stored programs to customers. We consider thre kinds of cost.a program transmission cost, a program storage cost, and a video server installation cost. There exists a trade-off relationship among those three costs according to locationsl of video servers and the kinds of programs stord at each video server. Given a tree structured VOD network, and the total number of programs being served in the network, the resource allocation problem in a VOD network providing both IVOD and NVOD services is to determine where to install video servers for IVOD service, which and how many programs should be stored at each video server for both IVOD and NVOD services, so as to minunize the total cost which is the sum of three costs for both IVOD and NVOD services. In this paper we develop an efficient cynamic programming algorithm for solving the problem. We also implement the algorithm based on a service policy assumed in this paper.

An Adaptive Cache Replacement Policy for Web Proxy Servers (웹 프락시 서버를 위한 적응형 캐시 교체 정책)

  • The explosive increase of World Wide Web usage has incurred significant amount of network traffic and server load. To overcome these problems, web proxy caching replicates frequently requested documents in the web proxy closer to the users. Cache utilization depends on the replacement policy which tries to store frequently requested documents in near future. Temporal locality and Zipf frequency distribution, which are commonly observed in web proxy workloads, are considered as the important properties to predict the popularity of documents. In this paper, we propose a novel cache replacement policy, called Adaptive LFU (ALFU), which incorporates 1) Zipf frequency distribution by utilizing LFU and 2) temporal locality adaptively by measuring the amount of the popularity reduction of documents as time passed efficiently. We evaluate the performance of ALFU by comparing it to other policies via trace-driven simulation. Experimental results show that ALFU outperforms other policies.

  • In this paper, we design an authorization policy module which provides the safty and reliable authorization of the user to provide the resolution for authorization in distributed environments. PKI have been utilized much by an information security-based structure for Internet electronic commerce, it is developing X.509-based in various application field such as a network security. Especially, it provides good resolution for the authentication of the user in the situation not to meet each other, but it is not enough to provide the resolution of the authorization in distributed computing environments. In this paper, We provide AAS model, which can be used distributed resources by distributed users, and design AAS model which is an authorization policy module in the Linux-based Apache Web server.

  • Recent development in wireless computing and GPS technology cause the active development in the application system of location information in real-time environment such as transportation vehicle management, air traffic control and location based system. Especially, study about vehicle location tracking system, which monitors the vehicle's position in a control center, is appeared to be a representative application system. However, the current vehicle location tracking system can not provide vehicle position information that is not stored in a database at a specific time to users. We designed a vehicle location tracking system that could track vehicle location using mobile interface such as PDA. The proposed system consist of a vehicle location retrieving server and a mobile interface. It is provide not only the moving vehicle's current location but also the position at a past and future time which is not stored in database for users.

  • In this study, It is suggested how to utilize hardware capacity sizing system for WEB, WAS, OLTP server's CPU, memory, and disk capacity by its user reasonably. To achieve goal of this study, we presented specific approaches in aspect of institutional viewpoint. The result of this study can be reflected gradually in the guideline of informatization related budgeting by MPB(Ministry of Planning and Budget) and e-government supporting program.

Simulation Analysis for Configuring Web Clusters (웹 클러스터 구성을 위한 시뮬레이션 분석)

  • High-volume web sites often use clusters of servers with load balancing as a way to increase the performance, scalability, and availability of the sites. Load balancing, usually performed by load balancer in front of such clusters, is a technique to spread workload between several computers or resources, in order to get optimal resource utilization or response time. In this paper we examine the performance for several configurations of cluster-based web servers using a simulation approach. We investigate two types of buffering scheme (common and local) for web clusters and three load balancing policies (uniformly random, round robin, and least queue first), using response time as a performance measure. We also examine two basic approaches of scaling web clusters: adding more servers of same type or upgrading the capacity of the servers in the clusters.

  • 전통적일 파일 캐쉬나 가상 메모리 시스템과 웹 캐쉬는 다르다. 웹 캐쉬는 WWW상에서 작게는 수백 바이트에서 크게는 수십 메가바이트에 이르는 다양한 크기의 개체를 다루어야 한다. 다양한 크기의 개체를 다루는데 따른 문제점은 캐쉬 성능을 판단하는 매트릭스가 단순한 hit rate가 아니라는 것이다. 기본적인 웹 캐쉬의 성능 매트릭스로는 HR(cache hit rate)와 BHR(byte cache hit rate)가 있으며, 기존에 제시된 캐쉬 정책들은 두 가지 중 하나만을 만족하거나 아니면 어느 것도 만족하지 않는 경우가 대부분이다. 트레이스 드리븐 방식을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통하여, 기존에 우수성이 입증된 캐쉬 대체 정책과 우리가 제시한 TYPE 대체 정책을 HR과 BHR을 기준으로 비교한다. 우리가 제시한, 파일 타입에 대해 동적으로 할당된 캐쉬 공간을 갖는 캐쉬 대체기법은 각각의 두 성능 매트릭스에 대해서 골고루 우수한 성능을 보였다.
