  • With the development of computer storage and the rapidly growing ability to process large amounts of data, the multivariate control charts have received an increasing attention. The existing univariate and multivariate control charts are a single hypothesis testing approach to process mean or variance by using a single statistic plot. This paper proposes a multiple hypothesis approach to developing a new multivariate control scheme. Plotted Hotelling's $T^2$ statistics are used for computing the corresponding p-values and the procedure for controlling the false discovery rate in multiple hypothesis testing is applied to the proposed control scheme. Some numerical simulations were carried out to compare the performance of the proposed control scheme with the ordinary multivariate Shewhart chart in terms of the average run length. The results show that the proposed control scheme outperforms the existing multivariate Shewhart chart for all mean shifts.

  • This study proposed the optimal mixing time for pre-mixed cement and post mixed cement using the statistical analysis method of box plots. Pre-mixed cement can prevent material seegregation, strength loss, and quality variation if mixed for at least 60 seconds, and the data median is shown to be within the box range. Post-mixed cement should be mixed for at least 180 seconds to prevent material segregation, strength loss, and quality variation, and compressive strength tends to increase with longer vibrating times. Therefore, it is suggested that using pre-mixed cement can shorten the vibrating time and increase the productivity of the concrete.

  • The "AR Campus Diary" project innovates in the realm of art through integrating augmented reality (AR) with interactive storytelling, fostering personal and interpersonal development through artistic expression. This artistic endeavor metaphorically represents the growth and fruition of individual stories, facilitated by a series of progressive art activities that emphasize continual interaction between self and others. Set against the backdrop of a university campus, the project employs AR markers designed to unfold stories in phases through a dedicated application, allowing participants to experience and influence the narrative uniquely. Diverging from traditional film editing techniques, "AR Diary" offers viewers the autonomy to navigate through story segments of their choosing, marking a departure from conventional cinematic storytelling by leveraging marker-based plot progression. This project not only showcases the fusion of technology and art but also pioneers a participatory form of art education based on engagement and play.

  • A parametric study based on an unsteady mathematical model of a pyrotechnically actuated device was performed for design optimization. The model simulates time histories for the chamber pressure, temperature, mass transfer and pin motion. It is validated through a comparison with experimentally measured pressure and pin displacement. Parametric analyses were conducted to observe the detailed effects of the design parameters using a validated performance analysis code. The detailed effects of the design variables on the performance were evaluated using the one-at-a-time (OAT) method, while the scatter plot method was used to evaluate relative sensitivity. Finally, the design optimization was conducted by employing a genetic algorithm (GA). Six major design parameters for the GA were chosen based on the results of the sensitivity analysis. A fitness function was suggested, which included the following targets: minimum explosive mass for the uniform ignition (small deviation), light casing weight, short operational time, allowable pyrotechnic shock force and finally the designated pin kinetic energy. The propellant mass and cross-sectional area were the first and the second most sensitive parameters, which significantly affected the pin's kinetic energy. Even though the peak chamber pressure decreased, the pin kinetic energy maintained its designated value because the widened pin cross-sectional area induced enough force at low pressure.

  • This experiment was undertaken to study effect of fall Fertitizarion on spring regrowth of Korean lawngrass( Zoysia japonica Steud ) Results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. late fall fertilization stimulated the spring regrowth of Korean lawngrass. hut early spring application showed little effect on that 2. The yield of clippings on May 21 was obviously greater in late fertilization plots(treatment C, D and E) than other plots(treatment A, B and control, but there was no significant difference in clipping yields of C, D and F treatment. 3. Both nitrogen and reducing sugar contents of runner fell down in spring. It was suggested thatthese constituents be translocated from runner to other parts during the budding period. 4. The nitrogen content of runner was obviously mote in the plot of late fall fertilization. In contrast to nitrogen, no obvious difference was found in reducing sugar content of runner of seven application date. It was suggested that the roots of plant be still able to absorb to absorb nitrogen under dormancy. .5.From these results. late fall fertilization enhances the development of Korean lawngrass in the following spring. But early spring application shows little effect on spring regrowth.

  • The vibration characteristics of the pad fluttering in a fluid film tilting pad journal bearing (4-pad LBP) have been investigated experimentally under the different values of oil supply flow rate, bearing load and shaft speed. The vibration characteristics of the pad fluttering are estimated by measuring the time signal of circumferential distribution of the film thickness and the cascade plot of the response of the relative displacement between the bearing and the shaft. It is shown that the vibration frequency of the pad fluttering has a sub-synchronous frequency and almost does not change by the increase of shaft speed. However the vibration amplitude is increased by the increase of shaft speed. From those experimental results, pad fluttering can be thought of as a self-excited vibration. The incipient pad fluttering velocity is increased by the increase of oil supply flow rate and by the decrease of bearing load. It is observed that the vibration amplitude of the pad fluttering can be decrease by the control of supply oil flow rate effectively. And also It is known that the outbreak of pad fluttering does not concern with the shaft vibration.

  • We investigated the effect of ionic component on crystalline morphology development during isothermal annealing in a sodium neutralized sulfonated poly(ethylene terephthalate) ionomer (Ion-PET) by time-resolved small-angle x-ray scattering (TR-SAX S) using synchrotron radiation. At early stage in Ion-PET, SAXS intensity at a low annealing temperature (Ta = 120 $^{\circ}C)$ decreased monotonously with scattering angle for a while. Then SAXS profile showed a peak and the peak position progressively moved to wider angles with isothermal annealing time. Finally, the peak intensity decreased, shifting the peak angle to wider angle. It is revealed that ionic aggregates (multiplets structure) of several nm, calculated by Debye-Bueche plot, are formed at early stage. They seem to accelerate the crystallization rate and make fine crystallites without spherulite formation (supported by optical microscopy observation). From decrease of peak intensity in SAXS,it is suggested that new lamellae are inserted between the preformed lamellae so that the concentration of ionic multiplets in amorphous region decreases to lower the electron density difference between lamellar crystal and amorphous region. In addition, analysis on the annealing at a high temperature (Ta = 210 $^{\circ}C)$ by optical microscopy, light scattering and transmission electron microscopy shows a formation of spherulite, no ionic aggregates, the retarded crystallization rate and a high level of lamellar orientation.

  • The goal of this study is to find the geomorphic variables contolling gully development on hillslopes following deforestation. Two possible geomorphic processes, surface erosion and mass movement were reviewed to compare the characteristics and geomorphic variables involved. The research objective in this paper is to find the variables and the statistical model which can explain gully density in the study area. Gully density was selected as a response variable. For log gully density, the best subset regression was found to have the variables such as area, surface length, and surface width. Log area is the most significant predictor. Even with several outliers, the normal probability plot of the residuals from this regression looks straight. So, area, surface length, and surface width explain half of the variance in gully density.

  • Various chemical properties including density and heat of formation of 1-substitued trinitroimidazoles (TNIs) were estimated by using density functional theory (DFT). Using chemical properties estimated by DFT, explosive performance and sensitivity of 1-substitued TNIs were analyzed by following the ADD Method-1 procedure. The results were displayed on two-dimensional performance-sensitivity plot, and were compared with those of explosive molecules commonly used in many military systems. Different 1-substituents of TNI made that both explosive performance and impact sensitivity were changed significantly. Methyl substituted TNI became moderately insensitive and slightly less powerful. Amino, fluoro, picryl, and difluoroamino substituted TNIs were highly powerful like RDX and HMX, but greatly sensitive. Nitro substituted TNI was predicted to be extremely sensitive to be handled as a secondary explosive.
