The FEM is a computer-aided mathematical technique for obtaining approximate solution to the differential equations. The pointwise convergence defines the relationship between the mesh size and the tolerance. This will play an important role in improving quality of finite element approximate solution. In the paper. We evaluate the convergence on a certain unknown point with a 1-irregular mesh refinement and spectral order enrichment. This means that the degree of freedom is minimized within a tolerance.

The present study demonstrates the first-ever characterization of cell types that express the vanilloid receptor 1 (VR1) in the taste buds of rat circumvallate papillae. We performed electron microscopy to identify the subcellular location. The VR1 immunoreactivity was associated with the endoplasmic reticulum, cytoplasmic vesicles, and plasma membrane of taste cells. These results demonstrate the localization of the VR1 in membranous structures of the taste cells. We used double immunofluorescence histochemistry with taste cell type-specific markers to identify the cell types that express the VR1. The VR1 was detected in all functional taste cell types (Type I, Type II, and Type III cells). Together, our data suggest that the VR1 might play different roles according to the cell types within a taste bud.

South Korea is covered primarily by temperate vegetation; therefore, foliicolous lichens may not be expected to play an important role in its lichen flora. However, this study describes four foliicolous lichen species, Strigula concreta, S. macrocarpa, S. melanobapha, and S. subelegans, which are new to South Korea. These findings will lead to further research on foliicolous lichens and provide a better understanding of their distribution within the East Asian region. This is the first detailed report on foliicolous lichens and their distribution in South Korea.

Although improper integrals constitute a concept of great utility for Mathematics students, it appears that students are unable to assimilate this concept within the wider system of concepts they learn in their first year of Mathematics studies. In this paper we describe a competence model used in a study about the kind of understanding students possess about improper integral calculus when two registers of representation come into play. Competence will be considered as the coherent articulation of different semiotic registers. After analysing the results of a questionnaire, six students were selected to be interviewed on the basis of their overall results and the significance of their answers. For the interview, five original questions from the questionnaire were used together with a new question. In this article we will analyse, from our theoretical point of view, the work carried out by one student who was interviewed to show how our competence model works and we will discuss this formal competence model used.

This study was conducted for the purpose of assessing the pollutant removal possibilities of sedimentation pool formed by deep dredging of a reservir inlet. Water quality data were collected in the Masan reservoir, whose inlet has been dredged deep like sedimentation pool. The average concentration of chemical oxygen demand(COD), total nitrogen(T-N) adnd total phosphorous(T-P) in the deep dredged area were 8.3∼28.4mg/$\ell$ (COD), 2.0∼6.0mg/$\ell$(T-N), 0.17∼1.34mg/$\ell$(T-P), which were 3.3% (COD) , 30.6%(T-N) and 46.4%(T-P) higher than those of middle part of the reservoir. From these results, it was considered the deep dredged area in the inlet of reservoir might play a key role to improve reservoir water quality.

Asphaltenes are generally defined by their solubility when a light alkane, such as n-heptane or n-pentane, is mixed with crude oils or oil sand bitumen. However, this definition is nowadays not enough to understand their behaviors during oil recovery, transport, storage, and even refinery operation. Interestingly, the researches regarding asphaltenes have been vastly presented within last decade. This is because the production of heavy oils is becoming larger and asphaltenes are known to play an important role in the property changes of heavy oils. In this paper, the researches regarding molecular weight, aggregation behavior of asphaltenes are introduced and discussed. It is expected that analytical studies will be appeared continuously in the form of global collaboration in order to describe asphaltene molecules as close as possible based on their origin.

As the most widely used media of BtoB e-business, the e-Marketplace (EM) can play an important role in the age of c-commerce (collaborative commerce). In supply chain management (SCM) area, the relationship-based collaboration among partners has shown great efficiency. Although the collaboration is important in both areas of EM and SCM there has been a critical difference in the selection of trade partners between them. In this paper, the EM's collaborative stages for integration with its customer system are reviewed and a system architecture is proposed for EM's electronic functional role within the perspective of collaborative commerce and buyer-supplier relationship. The relationship-based BtoB commerce through EM is reviewed to explain that it can be more beneficial than the commerce based on the price competitive selection of trade partners. With the proposed system architecture, an EM can be the functional medium for the collaborative IOIS system architecture.

A 32-ft class leisure boat was newly developed using statistical analysis of actual ships. Resistance performances were investigated by testing models in a high-speed circulating water channel, and with the CFD method. The effects of a trim tab and of a fin attached at the hull side were studied together. Wave patterns were observed to clarify the relationship between resistance performance and wave characteristics. It was found that a trim tab and a side fin play a role in increasing resistance performance within a certain velocity range.

We study the orbital histories of Virgo galaxies undergoing different HI gas stripping stages using phase-space diagrams. Based on the HI properties of galaxies, we find that location of galaxies is in good agreement with ram-pressure stripping predicted by numerical simulations with different infall time. For example, galaxies experiencing active gas stripping are mostly found in the first infall region showing high velocity with respect to the cluster center. Meanwhile, most galaxies that are likely to have lost gas a while ago are found in the cluster outskirts with low orbital velocities. We also discuss the cases where observational properties of galaxies and their locations in the phase-space do not well agree. In addition, we probe the phase-space of filaments and subgroups around or within Virgo. Our results strongly suggest that substructures can play important roles in galaxy evolution while galaxies are falling to the cluster.

The globalization through sport has its own positive point, because its speed can proceed faster than the other area. For twenty-five years long Soccer has influenced people all of the world not only as a role of the most enjoyable sport, but also as a role of the most important position in politics, economics and social fields. Moreover, soccer has comprised transcendentally within region, race and nation which has made a big market share in leisure industry. By completing this research, the Sport Exhibition should be defined innovatively as a place that enables people actively to develop their creativity. Some of overseas sport exhibitions were selected as a sample in this study, such as The National Football Museum in England, Cornilon Nord Saint Denis in France and Sir Matt Busby Way Old Trafford Manchestrer Ml6 ORA in England, which produced an experience based exhibition. Here this study is purposed to establish, efficiently, the history of korean soccer and FIFA Worldcup as a part of construction for 2002 FIFA Worldcup exhibition and to define its conceptional characteristics composition of planning and schematic design than to play a role as basic study of architectural space.
