  • The demand for skincare has increased due to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a focus on skincare devices and technologies designed to improve the delivery of cosmetics. Among these technologies, skincare medical devices that utilize plasma therapy (Plasma) and sonophoresis (Sono) are commonly used in dermatology clinics. However, there is still a lack of quantitative analysis for transdermal absorption effects of Plasma and Sono skincare medical devices. In this study, we quantified enhanced transdermal absorption effects of Plasma and Sono devices through in-silico and ex-vivo studies. The Sono treatment demonstrated an increased transdermal absorption effect, showing a 10~13% difference in penetration compared to the control group in the in-silico experiment, and 159% and 184% increase in the ex-vivo experiment. The Plasma treatment revealed increased transdermal absorption effects, with a 1.0~2.5% penetration difference in the in-silico experiment, and a 124% increase in the ex-vivo experiment compared to the control group. We also observed a synergistic effect from the combined treatment of Plasma and Sono, as indicated by the highest increases of 197% and 242% in penetration. Furthermore, we have determined the optimal device settings and treatment conditions for Plasma-Sono skincare medical devices. Notably, higher on/off durations (Intensity levels) and longer Sono treatments resulted in greater transdermal absorption effects.

  • Physicochemical properties of a polymer surface significantly affect adhesion, wetting, and dyeing properties. In recent years, low temperature plasma technology has been widely used for surface modification of polymers. Surface fluorination by low temperature plasma treatment has been employed to improve the water and oily repellency of textile fabrics. However, very few results have been reported on soil release properties of the oxygen plasma treated textile fabrics. (omitted)

  • This study has been carried out to the low temperature plasma nitriding treatment on the mechanical properties of stainless steel at temperature range between $400^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$. It was found that there was precipitated to free CrN matrix below $400^{\circ}C$ and there was precipitated S-phase of STS 316L, ${\varepsilon}$-phase of STS 409L and ${\alpha}N$-phase of STS 420J2. STS 316L has formed relatively abundant CrN phase and ${\gamma}^{\prime}-Fe_4N$ phase at $500^{\circ}C$, alternatively STS 409L and STS 420J2 were more deeply nitrided than STS 316L at $500^{\circ}C$.

  • With the contact angle of phase dropping epoxy resin on the inorganic filler(glass plate) surface treated with air plasma, we have studied about the interfacial wettability between epoxy resin and glass plate as a simple model of glass fiber reinforced composite materials. The contact angle on the inorganic filler surface varied with surface treatment conditions. The contact angle significantly depends on plasma treating time and environment temperature in the oven. From the view point of plasma treatment condition in this work, when discharge conditions were pressure 200mtorr, voltage 800V, magnetic flux density 8OGauss, optimum treatment time were proved as 3,4 and 5 minutes for the environment of >$80^{\circ}C$, >$100^{\circ}C$ and >$120^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of the post Ar plasma treatment at different RF powers for various durations on electrical, structural, and optical properties of relatively thin Al-doped zinc oxide films. The sheet resistance was observed to decrease rapidly for the first 5min, beyond which the resistance apparently saturated. As the RF power increased, the grain size and the interplanar distance of (002) planes also increased. The observed decrease in sheet resistance was stated to be a consequence of Al and/or Zn interstitials as well as grain growth. It was also found that Ar plasma treatment increased the transmittance of Al-doped zinc oxide films in most of the visible light range below the blue light.

  • After etching Al-Cu alloy films using $SiCl_4/Cl_2/He/CHF_3$ plasma, a corrosion phenomenon on the metal surface has been studied with XPS(X-ray pheotoelectron spectroscopy) and SEM (Scanning electron microscopy). In Al-Cu alloy system, the corrosion occurs rapidly on the etched surface by residual chlorine atoms. To prevent the corrosion, $CHF_3$ plasma treatment subsequent to the etch has been carried put. A passivation layer is formed by fluorine-related compounds on the etched Al-Cu surface after $CHF_3$ treatment, and the layer suppresses effectively the corrosion on the surface as the $CHF_3$treatment in the pressure of 300m Torr.

  • By measuring decrease change of the contact angle after microwave plasma treatment on the glass and Al as a scintillator panel sample substrate, the adhesive performance of scintillator panel can be expected to improve. Also resolution and sensitivity of scintillator panel after microwave plasma treatment can be expected to maintain highly.

  • Refractory thin endometrium and recurrent implantation failure are among the most challenging infertility-related factors hindering successful pregnancy. Several adjuvant therapies have been investigated to increase endometrial thickness and the pregnancy rate, but the treatment effect is still minimal, and for many patients, these treatment methods can be quite costly and difficult to approach. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentration of platelets in plasma and has recently been elucidated as a better treatment option for these patients. PRP is rich in cytokines and growth factors, which are suggested to exert a regenerative effect at the level of the injured tissue. Another advantage of PRP is that it is easily obtained from the patient's own blood. We aimed to review the recent findings of PRP therapy used for patients with refractory thin endometrium and recurrent implantation failure.

  • Plasma is 4th state of matters, which consists of electrons, neutral, and ionized particles. In biomedical research, cold plasma, which is generated in atmospheric condition, has been applied to disinfect microorganisms such as bacteria and yeast cells. Because of its low temperature condition, the heat-sensitive medical device can be easily sterilized by the cold plasma treatment. In recent years, the effects of plasma on mammalian cells have arisen as a new issue. Generally, plasma induces intensity dependent necrotic cell death. In this research, we investigate the feasibility of cold plasma treatment for cancer therapy by conducting comparative study of plasma effects on normal and cancer cells. We use THLE-2 (human liver normal cell) and SK-Hep1 (human liver metathetic cancer cell) as our target cells. The needle type of cold plasma is generated by the Helium plasma device. Two types of cells have different onset plasma conditions for the necrosis, which may be explained by difference in electrical properties of these two cell types.
