In each country, efforts are being made to replace engine-driven cars and motorcycles using fossil fuels with electric drive. Electrically driven vehicles have the advantage of no harmful gas or environmental pollution and low noise. In the motorcycle market, China accounts for more than 95% of the world, and the electric motorcycle market is being revitalized due to the strengthening of regulations. Japan is actively preparing to include electric motorcycles in ISO 26262, forming a TF team centered on electric motorcycle producers. Therefore, it is necessary to respond to standardization targeting China and Japan in Korea. In this study, we propose a proprietary transmission model that can be applied to small electric vehicles that can be operated in hilly domestic terrain. The proposed continuously variable transmission model is a continuously variable transmission system which moves the pin between the basic disk and the rotary disk using a spline to perform shifting. The proposed continuously variable transmission model is used in the pulley configuration by connecting the linear type spline and the inclined spline with the central axis of the basic disk and the rotational disk, respectively. In addition, it can be divided into two types according to the application of the auxiliary disk, and the production drawing is completed for the practical use of the model.
The friction and wear behaviors of magnetron sputtered MoS$_2$ films were investigated through the use of a pin and disk type tester. The experiments were performed for two kinds of specimens (ground (Ra 0.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$) and polished (Ra 0.01 $\mu\textrm{m}$) substrates) under the following operating condifions : linear sliding velocities in the range of 22~66 mm/s (3 types), normal loads varying from 9.8~29.4 N(3 types) and atmospheric conditions of air, medium and high vacuum (3types). Silicon nitride pin was used as the lower specimen and magnetron sputtered MoS$_2$ on bearing steel disk was used as the upper specimen. The results showed that low friction property of the MoS$_2$ films could be identified in high vacuum and the specific wear rate in air was much higher than that in medium and high vacuum due to severe oxidation. It was found that the main wear mechanism in air was oxidation whereas in high vacuum accumulation of plastic flow and adhesion, were the main causes of wear.
During the cold forming, due to high working pressure acting on the die surface, failure mechanics must be considered before die design. One of the main reasons of die failure in industrial application of metal forming technologies is wear. The mechanisms of wear are consisted of adhesion, abrasion, erosion and so on. Die wear affects the tolerances of formed parts, metal flow, and costs of process. The only way to control these failures is to develop a prediction method on die wear suitable in the design state in order to optimize the process. The wear system is used to analyse 'operating variables' and 'system structure'. In this study, with AISI D2, AISI 1020, AISI 304SS materials, a series of the wear experiments of pin-on-disk type to obtain the wear coefficients from Archard's wear model and the upsetting processes are carried out to observe the wear phenomenon during the cold forming process. The analysis of upsetting processes are performed by the rigid-plastic finite element method. The result of the analysis is used to investigate the die wear the processes, and the analysis simulated die wear profiles are compared with the experimental measured die wear profiles.

The friction and wear behaviors of WC/C multilayer coating were investigated by using a pin on disk type tester. The experiment was conducted by using silicon nitride (S $i_{3}$$N_{4}$) as a pin material and WC/C multilayer coating on bearing steel (STB2) as a disk material, under various environments that are atmospheric conditions of high vacuum( 1,3$\times$10$^{-4}$ Pa), medium vacuum( 1.3$\times$10$^{-l}$Pa). ambient air( 10$^{5}$ pa)(3 types) and relative humidity(2~98%) conditions. The results showed that WC/C coating fracture was suddenly increased with increasing degree of vacuum, because of high adhesion. So, WC/C coating could not be displayed their ability as solid lubricant. WC/C coating could be displayed better abilitv as solid lubricant with increasing relative humidity. because of oxide film, size and shape of wear debris. The friction coefficient and specific wear rate became better about RH 50%.%.

The effect of sintering condition on tribological behavior in the Cu-base sintered friction materials was studied through pin-on-disk type wear tester. Especially, the experiment was focused on making a comparative study between presstwed sintering and pressureless sintering. Pressureless sintering process showes more stable friction coefficient and lower wear rate than pressure sintering process. This result is related to pore size and density of pore in the sintered materials.

In this study, to examine the friction coefficient and wear amount of dental prosthesis, pin-on-disk type wear test were at room temperature. Vickers hardness and fracture toughness measurement of dental materials were preformed. Microscopic observations on worn surfaces of specimens were conducted by SEM. The friction coefficient of dental material was investigated according to weight and slinging velocity. dental material have investigated composed to nature teeth.
In this study, plasma source ion implantation was used to improve the wear properties of biocompatible titanium implant. In order to observe the effect of ion energy and dose on wear property of titanium implant, pin-on-disk type wear tests in Hank's solution were carried out. The friction coefficient of ion implanted specimens were increased from 0.47 to 0.65 under high energy and ion dose conditions. As increasing ion energy and ion dose, the amount of wear was reduced.
A magnetic clutch consists of pulley and disk. It delivers and isolates the power needed for the operation of the compressor used in automotive air conditioning system. To improve the performance, efficiency and durability of automotive air conditioning system, appropriate design of pulley, disk and system working parameters(the magnitude of magnetic force, and so on) is necessary. For that goal, it is required to understand the friction characteristics of magnetic clutch for the initial operating time. In this study, friction tests were carried out in order to investigate the effect of sliding velocity on the friction characteristics of magnetic clutch using pin-on-disk type friction and wear tester. For experiments, pulley and disk used in real automotive air conditioning system were considered. Friction experiments were conducted under various sliding velocities, and coefficients of kinetic friction were obtained. Under the experimental conditions considered in this study, the coefficients of kinetic friction increased with the increase of test number(sliding distance) and decreased with the increase of sliding velocity.
Friction and Wear behavior of continuous graphite fiber composites was studied for different fiber orientations against the sliding direction. The effect of fiber orientation on friction and wear of the composite and on the deformation of the counterface was investigated experimentally. Pin on disk type testing machine was built and employed to generate the friction and wear data. A graphite fiber composite plate was produced by the bleeder ply molding in an autoclave and machined into rectangular pin specimens with specific fiber orientations, i.e., normal, transverse, and longitudinal directions. Three different wear conditions were employed for two different periods of time, 24 and 48 hours. The wear track of the worn specimens and the metal counterface was examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to observe the damaged fibers on the surface and wear film generation on the counterface. Wear mechanism of the composite during sliding wear is proposed based on the experimental results.

Friction and wear characteristics of metals in dry and boundary lubricated sliding conditions are observed experimentally using pin-on-disk and pin-on-plate type tribotesters. The motivation of this research is to investigate the effect of sliding history on the tribological behavior of metals. Cu and SM45C steel materials were used for the experiment. The results show that in dry condition the fictional behavior as well as wear of the specimens differed between uni-directional and bi-directional sliding conditions. The friction coefficient values, wear profile and optical micrograph of the wear track are presented.
