PZT-PMNS 세라믹의 공진특성 및 압전 정수의 전계의존성 (The Electric Field Dependence of the Resonance Characteristics and Piezoelectric Constant of the PZT-PMNS Ceramics)

  • In this paper, the variable tendency piezoelectric constant and resonance characteristics piezoelectric ceramics due to the electric field is studied. The practical application of piezoelectric ceramics is not only applied in field of small signal. For example, in case of an ultrasonic motor, $120{\sim}130Vrms$ of driving voltage is needed and that of an piezoelectric pump, $200{\sim}220Vrms$ of voltage is required. Therefore, to examine the characteristics of piezoelectric ceramics in large signal contributes to reducing the susceptibility to the multifarious application and securing the ease of the production of control circuit. These contributions may be connected to the expansion of industrial application. We fabricated disk-type piezoelectric ceramic samples by using conventional method and measured the resonance characteristics of these samples under from low to high voltage driving conditions. According to increasing the value of the input voltage, we measured the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric ceramic, and inquired into the cause of these phenomena.

온도 및 압축응력 변화에 따른 PIN-PMN-PT 단결정의 유전 및 압전 특성 (Effect of Temperature and Compressive Stress on the Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of PIN-PMN-PT Single Crystal)

  • 온도 및 압축응력 변화에 따른 PIN-PMN-PT계 압전 단결정의 유전 특성과 압전 특성을 조사하였다. 단결정의 결정상은 110℃ 영역에서 강유전 rhombohedral 구조에서 tetragonal 구조로, 190℃ 영역에서 tetragonal 구조로부터 상유전 cubic 구조로 변화하였다. 전계 인가에 따른 분극 및 변위의 변화율로부터 압전상수와 비유전율을 계산하였으며, 이는 계측기로부터 측정된 값과 유사한 수준을 나타내었다. 샘플에 인가되는 압축응력이 증가할수록 압전상수 d33과 비유전율값은 증가하는 경향성을 나타내었다. 측정 온도 5℃에서 샘플에 인가되는 압축응력이 60 MPa인 경우 d33 값이 4500 pC/N로 계산되었으며, 측정 온도 60℃인 경우, 샘플에 인가되는 압축응력이 40 MPa 일 때 비유전율 62000이 계산되었다. 압축응력이 높아질 때 압전상수와 비유전율 값이 상승한 것은 rhombohedral 상에서 orthorhombic 상으로의 전이에 기인한 것으로 판단된다.

ZnO가 PMN-PNN-PZT 세라믹스의 저온소결에 미치는 영향 (Effect of ZnO on Low Temperature Sintering of PMN-PNN-PZT Ceramics)

  • In this study, in order to develop multilayer ceramic actuator for ultrasonic nozzle and ultrasonic vibrator, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were fabricated using $Li_2CO_3$. $Na_2CO_3$ and ZnO as sintering aids. And then, their piezoelectric and dielectric properties according to the amount of ZnO addition were investigated. The addition of ZnO improved density, dielectric constant, electromechanical coupling factor, mechanical quality factor and piezoelectric d constant of PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics due to the increase of sinterability and accepter doping effect. Electromechanical coupling factor and mechanical quality factor of PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics increased with ZnO amount up to 0.4wt% and then decreased. At the sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ and 0.4wt% ZnO addition, density, dielectric constant, electromechanical coupling factor, mechanical quality factor and piezoelectric d constant showed the optimum value of 7.876g/$cm^2$, 1299, 0.612, 1151 and 369pC/N, respectively.

  • In this study, in order to develop the composition ceramics for lead-free ultrasonic motor, $[(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{0.95}Li_{0.05}(Nb_{0.96}Sb_{0.04})]O_3$ ceramics were fabricated using $Ag_2O$ as sintering aid and a conventional mixed oxide process and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated according to the $SrTiO_3$ substitution. $SrTiO_3$ substitution enhanced density, dielectric constant$(\varepsilon_r)$ and electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$. However, mechanical quality factor was deteriorated. At the 0.5mol% $SrTiO_3$ substitution, density, electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$, dielectric constant$(\varepsilon_r)$ and piezoelectric constant$(d_{33})$ of specimen showed the optimum value of 4.437g/$cm^3$, 0.457, 1294, 265pC/N, respectively.

Effects of Atmospheric Powder and Grain Size on Electrical Properties of Lanthanum-modified $PbTiO_3$ Ceramics

  • Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Pb$_0.9$La$_0.1$TiO$_3$ ceramics were investigated as a function of grain size. Sintering atmosphere was controlled with changing the kind of atmospheric powder and its amount. It was confirmed that dielectric and piezoelectric of Pb$_0.9$La$_0.1$TiO$_3$ were strongly influenced by the sintering atmosphere. Relative dielectric constant of Pb$_0.9$La$_0.1$TiO$_3$ which was sintered in PbO-deficient atmosphere made by Pb$_0.9$La$_0.1$TiO$_3$ powder, increased with the grain size. However, the dielectric constant of the samples sintered in the PbO-sufficient atmosphere made by PbZrO$_3$ powder was slightly decreased with the grain size. Piezoelectric d$_33$ constant of Pb$_0.9$La$_0.1$TiO$_3$ also showed a different trend, depending on the sintering atmosphere. It was almost constant in the range of grain size of 1.3~2.3 $\mu$m when the samples were sintered in the PbO-sufficient atmosphere, while it intensively decreased with the grain size in the case of the PbO-deficient condition.

소결시간변화에 따른 (Na,K)NbO3계 세라믹스의 유전 및 압전특성 (Dielectric and Piezoelectric Characteristics of (Na,K)NbO3 Ceramics System According to Sintering Time)

  • In this study, $0.95(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_{3}-0.05Li(Sb_{0.8}Nb_{0.2})O_{3}+0.2\;wt%Ag_{2}O$ were investigated as a variations of sintering times in order to improve dielectric and piezoelectric properties of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. $Ag_{2}O$ were used as sintering aids and the specimens were sintered during 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 hours, respectively. At the specimen sintered during 7 hour, Electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$), density, dielectric constant (${\epsilon}_{\gamma}$), piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) and curie temperature ($T_c$) of composition ceramics showed the optimal value of 0.450, 4.274 $[g/cm^3]$, 1007, 257 [pC/N] and $396^{\circ}C$, respectively.

Piezoelectric and Dielectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering Pb(Zn1/2W1/2)O3-Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3-Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 Ceramics

  • In this study, in order to develop the composition ceramics for low loss multilayer piezoelectric actuator application, $Pb(Zn_{1/2}W_{1/2})O_3-Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (abbreviated as PZW-PMN-PZT)ceramics according to the amount of $MnO_2$ addition were fabricated using two-stage calcinations method. And also, their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. At the 0.2 wt% $MnO_2$ added PZW-PMN-PZT ceramics sintered at $930^{\circ}C$, density, electromechanical coupling factor $k_p$, dielectric constant ${\varepsilon}_r$, piezoelectric $d_{33}$ constant and mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ showed the optimum value of $7.84g/cm^3$, 0.543, 1,392, 318.7 pC/N, 1,536, respectively for low loss multilayer ceramics actuator application.

  • The piezoelectric properties of $0.05Pb(Al_{0.5}Nb_{0.5})O_3-0.95Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3+0.7wt%Nb_2O_5+o.5wt%MnO_2$ ceramics with the additive of BaCO$_3$were investigated. As the addition of BaCO$_3$increased from 0 to 0.4 wt%, the dielectric constant ($\epsilon^T _{33}$), piezoelectric constant ($d_33$), electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$), and mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) increased, while the dielectric loss ($tan\delta$) decreased. The highest piezoelectric and dielectric properties were observed at $1200^{\circ}C$ of the sintered temperature with 0.4 wt% of $BaCO_3$, and the properties of $d_33$, $k_p$, and $Q_m$ were 339 pC/N, 60% and 1754, respectively.

  • In this paper, in order to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric transformer, $Pb[(Mn_{1/3},Nb_{2/3})_{0.07}(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_a(Zr_{0.48}Ti_{0.52})_{1-0.07-a}O_3]$ ceramics were manufactured with the variations of PZN from 2 to 14mol% and their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. Sintering temperature was varied from 910 to $1000^{\circ}C$. At 8mol% PZN substituted specimen sintered at $970^{\circ}C$, electromechanical coupling factor(kp), mechanical quality factor(Qm), dielectric constant and peizoelectric constant($d_{33}$) showed the optimal values of 0.536, 1803, 1551 and 328[pC/N), respectively, for multilayer piezoelectric transformer application.

  • In this study, In order to develop the low temperature sintering multilayer piezoelectric actuator, PMN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured with the sintering temperature, and their microstructure and piezoelectric properties were investigated. At the composition ceramics sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, dielectric constant(${\varepsilone}_r$), electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$), piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) and mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed the optimal value of 1095, 0.60, 363 and 1055, respectively, for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application.
