구간선형기동 능동소나표적 탐지 추적 성능향상을 위한 허프변환 클러터제거 알고리즘 (Hough Transform Clutter Reduction Algorithm for Piecewise Linear Path Active Sonar Target Detection and Tracking Improvement)

  • 본 논문은 고밀도 클러터 환경에서 클러터 제거기능을 이용하여 구간선형기동 수중운동체의 탐지 및 추적에 대한 성능향상을 다루었다. 고밀도 클러터 환경에서 허프변환(Hough transform)을 이용한 클러터 제거 알고리즘을 통해 클러터 특성을 나타내는 측정치를 제거한 후 남은 측정치에 대해 추적 필터인 CMKF-L을 적용하여 추적성능을 확인하였다. 모의 신호와 해상실험데이터를 이용하여 실험을 수행하였으며 고밀도 클러터 환경에서 제안하는 알고리즘을 적용하여 클러터는 상당수 제거되고 표적에 대한 추적은 지속적으로 안정되게 수행됨을 확인하였다.

굴곡진 도로에서의 구간 선형 모델을 이용한 차선 검출 (Lane Detection on Non-flat Road Using Piecewise Linear Model)

  • 본 논문에서는 굴곡진 도로를 구간 선형 모델로 근사화한 차선 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 차선 검출 알고리즘들은 지표면이 평면이라는 가정을 이용하기 때문에, 도로면이 굴곡진 실제 도로에서는 강건한 차선 검출이 어렵다. 제안하는 방법에서는 이 문제를 전체 차로를 구간으로 분할하고, 각 구간 내에서 차로를 가장 잘 근사하는 평면 차로를 구함으로써 해결한다. 이를 위해 각 구간 내에서 다양한 각도와 위치를 가지는 평면 형태의 구간 차로 후보들을 생성하였다. 구간 차로 후보들의 연결 조합 중 실제 차로에 가장 가까운 조합을 다이나믹프로그래밍을 이용하여 찾음으로써 굴곡진 차로를 근사한다. 평면 도로 뿐 아니라, 상하, 좌우의 굴곡이 있는 도로 영상으로 구성된 데이터세트에 대하여 제안하는 방법의 차선 검출 성능을 검증하였다. 평면 도로를 가정한 기존의 방법들이 80%에서 90% 초반의 검출률을 보이는 반면, 제안하는 방법은 90% 후반의 검출률을 보임을 통해 굴곡진 도로에서의 차선 검출의 강건성을 입증하였다.

IDENTIFIABILITY FOR COMPOSITE STRING VIBRATION PROBLEM

  • The paper considers the identifiability (i.e., the unique identification) of a composite string in the class of piecewise constant parameters. The 1-D string vibration is measured at finitely many observation points. The observations are processed to obtain the first eigenvalue and a constant multiple of the first eigenfunction at the observation points. It is shown that the identification by the Marching Algorithm is continuous with respect to the mean convergence in the admissible set. The result is based on the continuous dependence of eigenvalues, eigenfunctions, and the solutions on the parameters. A numerical algorithm for the identification in the presence of noise is proposed and implemented.

  • Traditionally one convex cost function for each generation is assumed in economic power dispatch. However, it is more realistic to represent the cost function as a piecewise quadratic function rather than one convex function. This paper presents evolutionary algorithm approaches to solve the problems of economic power dispatch with quadratic cost functions and piecewise quadratic cost functions. To improve GA, EP and ES characteristics. optimization methods combining GA with ES and EP with ES are proposed. The results for the proposed algorithms are compared with those of numerical method and show the better solutions in the ELD problem.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm of obstacle avoidance using fuzzy inferences. After the basic idea of the path generation algorithm using piecewise polynomials is described, the obstacle avoidance problem using fuzzy inferences is considered. Main concept of the avoidance algorithm is to modify intermittent point data using fuzzy inferences and to generate the collision free path based on the modified data. Finally, simulation result demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, the nonlinear damping force model is made to identify the properties of the ER damper using higher order spectrum. The higher order spectral analysis is used to investigate the nonlinear frequency coupling phenomena with the damping force signal according to the sinusoidal excitation of the damper. Also, this paper presents an inverse model of the ER damper, i.e., the model can predict the required voltage so that the ER damper can produce the desired force for the requirement of vibration control of vehicle suspension systems. The inverse model has been constructed by using piecewise linear damping force model. In this paper, the fuzzy logic control based on heuristic knowledge is combined with the skyhook control. And it is simulated for a quarter car model. The acceleration of the sprung mass is included in the premise part of the fuzzy rules to reduce the vertical acceleration RMS value of the sprung mass. Then scaling factors and membership functions are tuned using genetic algorithm to obtain optimal performance.

  • 본 논문은 심전도 데이터 압축을 위해 적응 프랙탈 보간(AFI)알고리듬 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 분할 프랙탈 보간(PFI) 알고리듬은 고정된 크기의 정의역 블럭을 사용한다. 따라서 그 재생오차가 원래의 심전도 신호의 특정 부분에 집중된다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 적응 프랙탈 보간 알고리듬에서는 가변 정의역 블럭을 사용한다. 만약 미리 정한 허용오차가 만족되지 않으면 정의역 블럭은 두개의 더 작은 정의역 블럭들로 나뉘어지게 된다. 큰 정의역 블럭들은 높은 압축 효율을 얻기 위해 굴곡이 적은 파형을 부호화 하는데 사용되고, 더 작은 정의역 블럭들은 신호의 질을 유지하기 위해 급격히 변화하는 파형을 부호화 하는데 사용된다. 제안된 알고리즘은 MIT/BIH 데이터베이스를 사용하여 평가되었다. AFI알고리듬은 주어진 압축률에서 기존의 PFI알고리듬보다 상대적으로 적은 재생 오차를 나타냈다. 약 7.13% 정도의 실효치 차이가 허용되는 응용에서, AFI알고리듬은 매개변수들에 대한 엔트로피 코딩 없이 10.51 이상의 압축률을 얻을 수 있었다.

드론의 곡선 비행을 위한 구간별 등가속 조건의 기준 궤적 생성 방법 (A Reference Trajectory Generation Method with Piecewise Constant Acceleration Condition for the Curved Flight of a Drone)

  • This paper describes a three-dimensional reference trajectory generation method for giving commands to an unmanned air vehicle (UAV). The trajectory is a set of consecutive curves with constant acceleration during each interval and passing through via-points at specified times or speeds. The functional inputs are three-dimensional positions and times (or speeds) at via-points, and velocities at both boundaries. Its output is the time series of position values satisfying the piecewise constant acceleration condition. To be specific, the shape of the trajectory, known as the path, is first represented by splines using third degree polynomials. A numeric algorithm is then suggested, which can overcome the demerits of cubic spline method and promptly generate a piecewise constant acceleration trajectory from the given path. To show the effectiveness of the present scheme, trajectory generation cases were treated, and their speed calculation errors were evaluated.

Wage Determinants Analysis by Quantile Regression Tree

  • Quantile regression proposed by Koenker and Bassett (1978) is a statistical technique that estimates conditional quantiles. The advantage of using quantile regression is the robustness in response to large outliers compared to ordinary least squares(OLS) regression. A regression tree approach has been applied to OLS problems to fit flexible models. Loh (2002) proposed the GUIDE algorithm that has a negligible selection bias and relatively low computational cost. Quantile regression can be regarded as an analogue of OLS, therefore it can also be applied to GUIDE regression tree method. Chaudhuri and Loh (2002) proposed a nonparametric quantile regression method that blends key features of piecewise polynomial quantile regression and tree-structured regression based on adaptive recursive partitioning. Lee and Lee (2006) investigated wage determinants in the Korean labor market using the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS). Following Lee and Lee, we fit three kinds of quantile regression tree models to KLIPS data with respect to the quantiles, 0.05, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8, and 0.95. Among the three models, multiple linear piecewise quantile regression model forms the shortest tree structure, while the piecewise constant quantile regression model has a deeper tree structure with more terminal nodes in general. Age, gender, marriage status, and education seem to be the determinants of the wage level throughout the quantiles; in addition, education experience appears as the important determinant of the wage level in the highly paid group.

Reversible Data Hiding Using a Piecewise Autoregressive Predictor Based on Two-stage Embedding

  • Reversible image watermarking, a type of digital data hiding, is capable of recovering the original image and extracting the hidden message with precision. A number of reversible algorithms have been proposed to achieve a high embedding capacity and a low distortion. While numerous algorithms for the achievement of a favorable performance regarding a small embedding capacity exist, the main goal of this paper is the achievement of a more favorable performance regarding a larger embedding capacity and a lower distortion. This paper therefore proposes a reversible data hiding algorithm for which a novel piecewise 2D auto-regression (P2AR) predictor that is based on a rhombus-embedding scheme is used. In addition, a minimum description length (MDL) approach is applied to remove the outlier pixels from a training set so that the effect of a multiple linear regression can be maximized. The experiment results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed method is superior to those of previous methods.
