One-to-All and All-to-all Broadcasting Algorithms of Matrix Hypercube (매트릭스 하이퍼큐브의 일-대-다 방송과 다-대-다 방송 알고리즘)

  • Broadcasting is a basic data communication method for interconnection networks. There are two types of broadcasting. One-to-all broadcasting is to transmit a message from one node to all other nodes and all-to-all broadcasting is to transmit a message from all the nodes that have messages to other nodes. And by the using way of the transmission port per unit time, there are two schemes of broadcasting. Single port telecommunication(SLA) is to transmit messages from one node that contains the messages to one adjacent node only and all port telecommunication(MLA) is to transmit messages from one node to all adjacent nodes within a time of unit. Matrix hypercube is that an interconnection network has improved network cost than that of hypercube with the same number of nodes. In this paper, we analyze broadcasting scheme of matirx hypercube. First, we propose one-to-all and all-to-all broadcasting algorithms of matrix hypercube. And we prove that one-to-all broadcasting times are 2n+1 and $2{\lceil}{\frac{n}{2}}{\rceil}+1$ based on the SLA and MLA models, respectively. Also, we show all-to-all broadcasting time using SLA model is $5{\times}2^{\frac{n}{2}}-2$ when n=even, and is $5{\times}2^{\frac{n-1}{2}}+2$ when n=odd.

Salinity Changes and Bottom Water Particle Exchange Simulations in Response to Sluice Gate Operations at Saemangeum Lake (새만금 배수갑문 운영에 따른 염분 변화와 저층수의 입자교환 모의)

  • In an effort to improve water quality, the South Korean government has implemented measures to increase seawater circulation in Saemangeum Lake. We analyzed the effect of increasing the frequency of seawater circulation based on salinity levels and bottom water exchange in the lake, using an environmental fluid dynamics code model. When the sluice gate opening and shutting frequency increased from once to twice per day, the internal water level of Saemangeum Lake increased by up to ~0.7 m. The salinity increased by 2.12 psu near the western breakwater and decreased by 1.18 psu near the freshwater inlet. We analyzed the extent of bottom water exchange using a particle tracing method and observed that the residual rate of particles shallower than 5 m in water depth decreased by 2.52% in Case 2 (opening and shutting twice per day) compared to Case 1 (opening and shutting once per day). This indicates that increasing the frequency of sluice gate opening and shutting would promote enhanced bottom water exchange. Consequently, the increased salinity and bottom water exchange associated with increased seawater circulation are expected to improve water quality in Saemangeum Lake.

Electronic Structure of GaxIn1-xSbyAs1-y: Band Alignments Based on UTB Calculations (GaxIn1-xSbyAs1-y의 전자적 구조: UTB 방법에 의한 밴드정렬상태)

  • The valence band maximum and the conduction band miminum of GaAs, GaSb, InAs, and InSb (constituent binaries of the quaternaty alloy $Ga_xIn_{1-x}Sb_yAs_{1-y}$) are calculated by using TB analytical approach method. The band alignment types of their heterojunctions are determined directly from their relative position of band edges (VBM and CBM). For example, the GaAs/InAs, GaAs/InSb, and GaSb/InSb are in a type-I, the GaAs/GaSb in a type-II, and the GaSb/InAs and InSb/InAs in a type-III, respectively. The composition dependent VBM and CBM for the $Ga_xIn_{1-x}Sb_yAs_{1-y}$ alloy are obtained by using the univeral tight binding method. For the alloyed heterojunctions, the band alignments can be controlled by changing the composition which induce a band type transition. For the alloy $Ga_xIn_{1-x}Sb_yAs_{1-y}$ lattice mathced to GaSb, the type-II band alignment in the region of $x{\leq}0.15$ is changed to the type-III in the region of $x{\geq}0.81$. On the other hand, the alloy $Ga_xIn_{1-x}Sb_yAs_{1-y}$ lattice mathced to InAs has the type-II band alignment in the region of $x{\leq}0.15$ and the type-III band alignment in the region of $x{\geq}0.81$, respectively.

Effects of Artistic and Technological Context on Physics Problem Solving for High School Students (예술적 상황과 기술적 상황이 고등학생들의 물리 문제해결에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examines the effects of the introduction of artistic and technological factors on science problems for the activation of creative and integrated thinking. We developed problems consisting of STA(problems that introduced technological and artistic factors on the College Scholastic Ability Test) and TA(problems that introduced artistic factors in a technological context). Subjects of the study included 60 high school senior students in Daegu. Their problem solving processes for STA were examined. Four students were interviewed using the retrospective interview method. Also, after finishing TA, the problem solving processes of four students were examined. The results of the study are as follows. First, students selected scientific context more than artistic and technological contexts. It was found that students preferred short length problem in order to solve problems in a short time. Second, students were more interested in artistic and technological contexts of STA than scientific context, but felt that they were more difficult. Moreover, students were more interested about the context of TA than scientific context. Third, irrespective of the given contexts in STA, students have a tendency to solve problems through relatively brief ways by using core scientific knowledge. This can seem to mean that there is a possibility to stereotype the problem solving process through repeated learning. Logical thinking and elaboration were observed, but creativity was not conspicuous. In addition, integrated thinking was not observed in all contexts of STA. Fourth, science related problems of TA showed similar results. However, in problems related to everyday life, students made original descriptions that they based on their daily lives. Particularly, in creative design, original ideas and integrated thinking were observed.

Quality Assurance of Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy Using the Dynalog Files (다이나로그 파일을 이용한 부피세기조절회전치료의 정도관리)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of beam delivery QA software using the MLC dynalog file, about the VMAT plan with AAPM TG-119 protocol. The Clinac iX with a built-in 120 MLC was used to acquire the MLC dynalog file be imported in MobiusFx(MFX). To establish VMAT plan, Oncentra RTP system was used target and organ structures were contoured in Im'RT phantom. For evaluation of dose distribution was evaluated by using gamma index, and the point dose was evaluated by using the CC13 ion chamber in Im'RT phantom. For the evaluation of point dose, the mean of relative error between measured and calculated value was $1.41{\pm}0.92%$(Target) and $0.89{\pm}0.86%$(OAR), the confidence limit were 3.21(96.79%, Target) and 2.58(97.42%, OAR). For the evaluation of dose distribution, in case of $Delta^{4PT}$, the average percentage of passing rate were $99.78{\pm}0.2%$(3%/3 mm), $96.86{\pm}1.76%$(2%/2 mm). In case of MFX, the average percentage of passing rate were $99.90{\pm}0.14%$(3%/3 mm), $97.98{\pm}1.97%$(2%/2 mm), the confidence limits(CL) were in case of $Delta^{4PT}$ 0.62(99.38%, 3%/3 mm), 6.6(93.4%, 2%/2 mm), in case of MFX, 0.38(99.62%, 3%/3 mm), 5.88(94.12%, 2%/2 mm). In this study, we performed VMAT QA method using dynamic MLC log file compare to binary diode array chamber. All analyzed results were satisfied with acceptance criteria based on TG-119 protocol.
