The linear regression method was used to model the relationship among a set of perceptions regarding to the importance of physical exercise and the perceived value of physical exercise (as a leisure activity) for aging baby boomers. In terms of a pilot study, we developed two alternative models tested at two different convenience samples. The first sample consisted of 82 aging baby boomers aged 55.65 (sample 1) and the second one consisted of 458 citizens aged 18.45 (sample 2). Through this research approach, we intended to lead to a better understanding of perceived value of physical exercise in the sporting goods marketing context for aging baby boomers. We addressed the core research themes of our study using a convenience survey. Data was collected by means of face to face interviews during the seven week period. The research results showed that the "model 2" better predicts perceived value of physical exercise as a leisure activity for aging baby boomers. We believe that the final findings of our research try can recognize the differences in buying behaviors between aging baby boomers and other target markets and advance marketers of sporting goods strategic tries regarding to consumer strategy management at a store level.
Currently, a number of control points are required in order to achieve accurate geolocation of satellite images. Control points can be generated from existing maps or surveying, or, preferably, from GPS measurements. The requirement of control points increase the cost of satellite mapping, let alone it makes the mapping over inaccessible areas troublesome. This paper investigates the possibilities of modeling an entire imaging strip with control points obtained from a small portion of the strip. We tested physical sensor models that were based on satellite orbit and attitude angles. It was anticipated that orbit modeling needed a sensor model with good accuracy of exterior orientation estimation, rather then the accuracy of bundle adjustment. We implemented sensor models with various parameter sets and checked their accuracy when applied to the scenes on the same orbital strip together with the bundle adjustment accuracy and the accuracy of estimated exterior orientation parameters. Results showed that although the models with good bundle adjustments accuracy did not always good orbit modeling and that the models with simple unknowns could be used for orbit modeling.
Purpose: A survey was conducted to investigate the role, priority, and awareness of physical therapists in the community care system for the elderly. Methods: Nine hundred ninety-three physical therapists were invited to an online survey from 1st to 30th June 2020. Results: While the awareness of physical therapists for the community care system for the elderly was found to be low, the role priority and performance ability were found to be high. Fall training scored the highest for the job duties of physical therapists, and functional training scored the highest for the performance ability of physical therapists. For the role priority by the education status regarding the community care system, the participants who received the education program showed higher scores in the performance ability than those who did not. For the role priority and performance ability according to the education levels, higher education levels resulted in higher scores in both outcomes. Regarding the clinical experience, low scores were found in the participants with less than five years of experience. Conclusion: Physical therapy establishes itself as an essential area of expertise in the community care system for the elderly. Therefore, these results can be utilized in developing a model for Korean community care for the elderly.
System identification is regarded as the most basic technique for structural health monitoring to evaluate structural integrity. Although many system identification techniques extracting mode information (e.g., mode frequency and mode shape) have been proposed so far, it is also desired to identify physical parameters (e.g., stiffness and damping). As for high-rise buildings subjected to long-period ground motions, system identification for evaluating only the shear stiffness based on a shear model does not seem to be an appropriate solution to the system identification problem due to the influence of overall bending response. In this paper, a system identification algorithm using a shear-bending model developed in the previous paper is revised to identify both shear and bending stiffnesses. In this algorithm, an ARX (Auto-Regressive eXogenous) model corresponding to the transfer function for interstory accelerations is applied for identifying physical parameters. For the experimental verification of the proposed system identification framework, vibration tests for a 3-story steel mini-structure are conducted. The test structure is specifically designed to measure horizontal accelerations including both shear and bending responses. In order to obtain reliable results, system identification theories for two different inputs are investigated; (a) base input motion by a modal shaker, (b) unknown forced input on the top floor.
The present investigation is concerned with two-dimensional deformation in a homogeneous isotropic non local thermoelastic solid with two temperatures due to thermomechanical sources. The theory of memory dependent derivatives has been used for the study. The bounding surface is subjected to concentrated and distributed sources (mechanical and thermal sources). The Laplace and Fourier transforms have been used for obtaining the solution to the problem in the transformed domain. The analytical expressions for displacement components, stress components and conductive temperature are obtained in the transformed domain. For obtaining the results in the physical domain, numerical inversion technique has been applied. Numerical simulated results have been depicted graphically for explaining the effects of nonlocal parameter on the components of displacements, stresses and conductive temperature. Some special cases have also been deduced from the present study. The results obtained in the investigation should be useful for new material designers, researchers and physicists working in the field of nonlocal material sciences.
The rain-wind induced vibration of stays is a phenomenon discovered recently and not well explained yet. As it is influenced by a wide range of physical parameters (cable size and shape, wind speed, direction and turbulence, rain intensity, material repellency and roughness, cable weight, damping and pre-strain), this peculiar phenomenon is difficult to reproduce in laboratory controlled conditions. A successful wind tunnel experimental campaign, in which some basic physical quantities were measured, allowed an extensive analysis as to identify the parameters of the rain-wind induced excitation. The unsteady pressure field and water thickness around a cable model were measured under rainy-excited conditions. The knowledge of those parameters provided helpful information about the air-flow around the cable and allowed to clarify the physical phenomenon which produces the excitation.
The present paper is focused on the study of the propagation of plane waves in thermoelastic media under a modified Green-Lindsay (MG-L) model having the influence of non-local and two temperature. The problem is formulated for the considered model in dimensionless form and is explained by using the reflection phenomenon. The plane wave solution of these equations indicates the existence of three waves namely Longitudinal waves (LD-Wave), Thermal waves (T-wave), and Shear waves (SV-wave) from a stress-free surface. The variation of amplitude ratios is computed analytically and depicted graphically against the angle of incidence to elaborate the impact of non-local, two temperature, and different theories of thermoelasticity. Some particular cases of interest are also deduced from the present investigation. The present study finds applications in a wide range of problems in engineering and sciences, control theory, vibration mechanics, and continuum mechanics.
This paper aims to determining the optimal capacity of Pusan port in view point of Container Physical Distribution cost. It has been established a coast model of the container physical distribution system in Pusan port is composed of 4 sub-systems and in-land transport system. Cargo handling system, transfer & storage system and in-land transport system, and analyzed the cost model of the system. From this analysis, we found that the system had 7 routes including in-land transport by rail or road and coastal transport by feeder ship between Pusan port and cargo owner's door. Though railway transport cost was relatively cheap, but, it was limited to choose railway transport routes due to the introducing of transport cargo allocation practice caused by shortage of railway transport capacity. The physical distribution ost for total import & export container through Pusan port was composed of 4.47% in port entring cost, 12.98% in cargo handling cost, 7.44% in transfer & storage cost and 75.11% in in-land transport cost. Investigation in case of BCTOC verified the results as follows. 1) The optimal level of one time cargo handling was verified 236VAN (377TEU) and annual optimal handling capacity was calculated in 516, 840VAN(826, 944TEU) where berth occupancy is $\rho$=0.6 when regardless of port congestion cost, 2) The optimal level of one time cargo handling was verified 252VAN (403TEU) and annual optimal handling capacity was calculated in 502, 110VAN (803, 376TEU) where berth occupancy is $\rho$=0.58 when considering of port congestion cost.

In this paper, we present a finite element method (FEM) study on the space charge effects in organic light emitting diodes. The physical model covers all the key physical processes in OLEDs, namely charge injection, transport and recombination, exciton diffusion, transfer and decay as well as light coupling, and thin-film-optics. The exciton model includes generation, diffusion, and energy transfer as well as annihilation. We assumed that the light emission originates from oscillation which thus is embodied as exciton in a stack of multilayer. We discuss the accumulation of charges at internal interfaces and their signature in the transient response as well as the electric field distribution. We also report our investigation on the influence of the insertion of the emission layer (EML) in the bilayer structure.

Geotechnical sites in urban areas may have embedded structures such as utility lines and underground concrete structures, which cause difficulties in site investigation. This study is a preliminary research to establish knowledge base for developing an optimal technique for site investigation in urban areas. Surface-wave method and resistivity survey, which are frequently adopted for non-destructive site-investigation for geotechnical sites, were investigated to characterize effects of adjacent structures. In case of surface wave method, patterns of wave propagation were investigated for typical sets of multi-layered geotechnical profiles by numerical simulation based on forward modeling theory and field experiments for small-size model tests and real-scale tests in the field. In case of resistivity survey, 3-D finite element analyses and field tests were performed to investigate effects of adjacent concrete structures. These theoretical and experimental researches for surface-wave method and resistivity survey resulted in establishing physical criteria to cause interference of adjacent structures in site investigation at urban areas.
