산후운동이 산욕부의 질수축압, 신체조성, 체력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Postpartum Exercise on Pelvic Muscle Contraction, Body Composition, and Physical Fitness of the Postpartum Mother)

  • Purposes: This study was to examine the effects of postpartum exercise on pressure of the pelvic muscle contraction, body composition and physical fitness of postpartum mothers. Method: A nonequivalent pre-test, post-test control group study was conducted. Fifty-two postpartum mothers(experimental group, 26; control group, 26) admitted to a postpartum ward in a Busan mother-baby clinic were recruited. Data was analyzed using mean, $x^2$-test, and t-test by SPSS 10.0. Result: Body fat mass(t=-3.196. p= .002), body fat rate (t=-3.831, p= .000), and fat distribution(t=-3.026, p= .004) of body composition increased significantly in the experimental group after the postpartum exercise as compared with the control group. After an 8 week exercise program, the pressure of the pelvic muscle contraction in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the control group(t=3.329, p=.002). In the change of physical fitness, grip strength of the hand, back muscle strength, and trunk flexion forward were not significantly changed, but trunk backward extension in the experimental group significantly increased(t=1.950, p=.050). Conclusion: Postpartum exercise affects pelvic muscle contraction, body composition, and physical fitness of the postpartum mother.

Effects of Progressive Resistance Training on Body Composition, Physical Fitness and Quality of Life of Patients on Hemodialysis

  • Purpose: To investigate the effect of progressive resistance training (PRT) on body composition, physical fitness, quality of life, lipid and nutritional profile of patients on hemodialysis (HD). Methods: A non equivalent comparison group pretest and posttest design study was used with 40 participants who were randomly assigned to the exercise group (20 participants) and the comparison group (20 participants). The exercise group received PRT for 30 minutes per session, 3 sessions a week, for 12 weeks, while the comparison group received usual care. The PRT consisted of upper and lower body exercises using elastic bands and sandbags. Outcome measures evaluated were: body composition, physical fitness, quality of life, and lipid profile. Results: Skeletal muscle mass, grip, leg muscle strength, and quality of life all improved significantly in the exercise group. Body fat rate, total cholesterol and triglyceride rate decreased significantly in the exercise group. Conclusion: These results suggest that PRT improves body composition, physical fitness, quality of life, and lipid profile of patients on HD. PRT using elastic bands and sandbags can be utilized as part of a regular care plan for these patients.

걷기운동이 비만 여대생의 신체조성과 체력에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a 12-Week Walking Exercise Program on the Body Composition and Physical Fitness in Obese College Women)

  • Purpose: To identify the effect of walking exercise on the body composition and physical fitness in obese college women. Method: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest posttest. Thirty-seven subjects were surveyed using a structured questionnaire, and measured for body composition and physical fitness. Twenty persons in the experimental group among the total sample participated in a 12-week walking program. The data were analyzed by $x^2$-test, and t-test with SPSS 10.1 program. Results: 1) BMI, body fat mass and percentage of body fat in body composition were significantly decreased in the experimental group compared to the control. However, there was no significant difference in skeletal muscle mass between the two groups. 2) Power among physical fitness was significantly increased in the experimental group. However, there was no significant difference in muscular strength (back strength), flexibility (sit and reach), muscular endurance (abdomen curl), power (standing high jump) or agility (trunk reaction time) between the two groups. Conclusion: The above results, confirmed the effectiveness of walking exercise as an effective nursing intervention in order to improve body composition.

체중조절 프로그램이 성인 비만 여성의 영양소 섭취량 및 운동 능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Weight Control Program on Nutrient Intakes and Physical Fitness in Obese Korean Adult Women)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of weight control program on nutrient intakes and physical fitness of Korean obese adult women. The subjects of this study were 33 obese adult women aged 30-65 years residing in Seoul. The weight control program for obese women included nutrition education, cognitive behavioral therapy and exercise for 12 weeks. There were significant decrease (p < 0.001) of blood pressure and atherogenic index of obese women after the weight control program. Energy intake was significantly decreased (p < 0.001) from 1556.9kcal to 1044.9kcal after 12 weeks of the weight control program. Also protein, fat and carbohydrate intakes were significantly decreased. The ratio of energy intakes per day for the subjects was carbohydrate 64% : protein 16% : fat 20%. The frequency of vegetables intakes was significantly increased (p < 0.05) and there were no significant differences in other food groups. After the weight control program, muscle endurance, flexibility, balance and explosive muscular strength of subject's physical fitness were significantly improved. These results suggest that the weight control program for obese women may contribute to nutrient intakes reduction and improvement of physical fitness.

신체활동 프로그램이 지적 장애인의 체력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Physical Activity Program on Physical Fitness of Intellectually Disabled Persons)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of a physical activity program on the physical fitness in persons with intellectual disabilities. Methods: The study design was an equivalent control group pre-post test. The treatment group received ths physical activity program five times per week for 20 weeks. Data were collected from the treatment group at two time points: Week 1 and Week 20 following the initiation of the treatment protocol. Data were collected from the control group at the ends of week 1 and Week 20. Data analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS v.21.0 software program. Results: The experimental group showed a significant reduction of physical fitness: basic of physical fitness (t=-2.07, p=.041), flexibility (t=2.25, p=.027), muscular strength (t=2.70, p=.009), agility (t=-3.35, p=.001), except for sense of balance (t=-0.91, p=.368), while control group showed no change in these variables. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that the physical activity program has proved to be a stable and physically active intervention program for physical activity in intellectually disabled persons.

낙상예방체조가 노인의 체력 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Falls Prevention Exercise on Functional Fitness in Elderly)

  • Background: This study was to investigate effects of falls prevention exercise on functional fitness in elderly. Methods: A total of 45 healthy over 65years old adults (men=15, women=30) who were participated in this study. Exercise were involved in the period of 12 week complex physical training for around 50 minutes a day, three times per week. We measured subjects' physical activity levels by short physical performance battery(SPPB) test, timed up & go(TUG) test, one leg standing test(OLST) with closed eyes and maximal step length (MSL) test. Results: After falls prevention exercise, there were statically significant differences in SPPB, TUG, OLST and MSL test (P<.01) between pre and post test. There were statically significant differences in SPPB, TUG, OLST, MSL between pre and post test in men and women. There were statically significant differences between men and women in SPPB, TUG, OLST and MSL test. Conclusion: Falls prevention exercise had significant effects on physical fitness level in elderly, with a result increase muscle strength, balance ability and it might prevent falls.

근로자의 체력 및 건강증진 생활양식에 관한 연구 (Physical Fitness and Health Promoting Life Styles of workers)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the physical fitness status and health promoting life styles of the workers. For the purpose, 108 workers who attended the exercise program in Inchon branch of KISCO were selected as the subjects. From Oct. 20th to Nov. 30th, in 1998, they were firstly assessed their physical fitness. The items include cardio-respiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, agility, power, balance, body composition, etc. Secondly, the health promoting life styles were asked by questionnaires about daily life and dietary habits. Both of them were evaluated by 5 or 3 levels as A(very good) to E(very poor) or A (good) to C(poor). Those data were analyzed percentile, mean, standard deviation by SAS program. Major findings are as follows ; 1. The health promoting life styles were generally good, but 43.5% of the subjects didn't exercise at all. Most of them(93.5%) thought about their physical fitness status as lower than average level. About half of them(48.1%) didn't drink alcohol, non smokers were 70.4% of them. But they had poor dietary habits(lower than average level : 79.6%), females were a little bit better than males. The aged group had the poor body compositions, 21.4% of females and 10.0% of males were obese. 2. Physical fitness status of the workers were assessed as two areas, one is health related, the other is physical function related area. In the health related area, females were better than males, in view of age, forties aged group had the highest scores of all items except cardio-respiratory endurance. Among 'A' and 'B' level, muscular endurance was showed most frequently, followed by muscular strength, flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance. In physical function related status, balance was ranked highly in the portion of over 'B', followed by power, agility. In view of sex, males were better than females for all items except balance, and there were various figures in the status by age groups. 3. Comprehensive assessment scores were poor(under 'D' leves were most frequent), females were better than males, and teenage group had the worst scores. In ages of the physical fitness, generally they had 1 year under their real ages, and females were better than males. In view of age, forties aged group was ranked highly and teenagers had lowest scores.

원자력발전소 특수경비원의 직무분석과 체력에 관한 연구 (A Study on Job Analysis and Physical Fitness of Special Security Guard in Nuclear Power Plant)

  • 원자력발전소 특수경비원은 의도하지 않은 내외부의 위협으로부터 원자력발전소를 안전하게 운영 관리하는 인적방호의 역할을 담당하고 있다. 이러한 특수경비원의 체력관리는 인적방호수준의 향상 및 유지를 위한 가장 핵심적 요소 중 하나이다. 이에 본 연구는 특수 경비원의 직무분석을 통해 임무완수에 필요한 체력요인과 체력수준을 분석하였다. 그 결과 국내 원자력발전소 특수경비원은 크게 7개의 직무, 26개의 책무, 159개의 과업을 수행하고 있었으며, 임무완수를 위해서는 손, 상지, 하지, 코어의 근력 및 근지구력, 순발력, 민첩성, 심폐지구력이 필요하였다. 또한 책무수행에 필요한 체력요구 수준은 체포 및 호신술 수행하기, 비 군사적 방어 대책 수행하기, 반자동 소총으로 숙련도 입증하기, 보호장비 사용하기, 비상대책 대응과 방어전략 수행하기, 초소근무하기, 출입자 보안 검색하기, 물품수색하기, 출입 차량 통제하기, 화재대응하기, 테러대응요령 숙지하기, 보안 순찰하기, 응급처치하기, 3등급 방호구역 외부인 출입자 통제하기, 2등급 방호구역 및 핵심구역에 대한 내 외부인 출입자 통제하기, 차량 및 자재 이동 경호 기능 수행하기 순으로 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 특수경비원의 체력자격기준 및 훈련에 관한 지침마련에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고, 나아가 원자력발전소 인적방호 강화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

서울지역 중학생의 BMI에 따른 영양소 섭취실태와 체력에 관한 연구 (Nutrient Intakes and Physical Fitness by BMI among Middle School Students in Seoul)

  • Proper nutrient intakes and physical fitness focus one's attention on health promotion. This study was conducted to investigate nutrient intakes and physical fitness by BMI in middle school students. Health-related questionnaire, dietary intakes, food frequency questionnaire and physical fitness were studied. There were no significant differences in health-related questionnaire, food frequency questionnaire and physical fitness by BMI, but several nutrition intakes, preference of salty tastes and the proportion of iron deficiency of female students were significantly different by BMI. Although the female obese group (BMI 85 - 100 percentile) had decreased the proportion of iron deficiency and increased fish intake frequency than other groups, obese females did not show better physical fitmess than other groups. And the average Ca intake was below $75\%$ of Korean RDA in both male and female students. Significantly positive correlation was found between calorie intake and push-up of normal (BMI 15 - 84 percentile) male students (r = 0.29), also significantly negative correlation was found between protein intake and 50m dash of normal female students (r = 0.22). And significantly positive correlation was found between beans and bent knee sit-up of normal male students (r = 0.25), and significantly positive correlations were found between beans, meat, eggs, green & yellow vegetable and sit and reach (r = 0.20, r = 0.28, r = 0.21, r = 0.19) and significantly negative correlation was found between beans and long distance race of normal female students. Therefore, this study suggests that proper nutrition and non-obese states should be achieved for health promotion in middle school students.

경호원의 근무유형에 따른 체력과 심혈관질환 위험인자의 차이 연구 (Study on the Difference of Physical Fitness and Cardiovascular Risk Factors for the Security Guards' Working Type)

  • 본 연구는 서울지역 S경호업체에서 경호업무를 수행하는 경호원을 대상으로 근무유형의 하위요인인 직위와 근무형태에 따른 체력과 심혈관질환 위험인자의 차이를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있었다. 모든 연구대상자는 심폐질환, 정형외과적 질환, 그리고 대사성질환이 없는 건강한 남자 60명이었다. 본 연구의 자료처리 방법은 SPSS Version 12.0 program을 이용하여 모든 자료의 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였으며, 경호원의 근무유형에 따른 체력과 심혈관질환 위험인자의 차이를 검증하기 위하여 일원변량분석을 실시하였다. 각 변인들의 분석 후 통계적 유의성이 나타난 경우 사후검증을 실시하였다. 결과에 따르면, 첫째, 경호원의 직위에 따라서는 직위가 낮을수록 체력수준이 높았고, 직위가 높을수록 체지방률과 심혈관질환 위험도가 높았다. 둘째, 경호원의 근무형태에 따라서는 현장직 경호원의 체력수준이 높고, 체지방률과 심혈관질환 위험도가 낮았다. 셋째, 경호원의 체력수준이 높을수록 체지방률과 심혈관질환 위험도는 감소되었다. 결론적으로, 경호원의 과체중 또는 비만감소, 심혈관질환 위험도 감소의 긍정적 변화를 가져오기 위해서는 간부급 경호원의 유산소성 운동을 기반으로 한 신체활동이 요구되어진다.
