Calibration transfer between miniature NIR spectrometers used in the assessment of intact peach and melon soluble solids content

  • The transfer of predictive models using various chemometric techniques has been reported for FTNIR and scanning-grating based NIR instruments with respect relatively dry samples (<10% water). Some of the currently used transfer techniques include slope and bias correction (SBC), direct standardization (DS), piecewise direct standardization (PDS), orthogonal signal correction (OSC), finite impulse transform (FIR) and wavelet transform (WT) and application of neural networks. In a previous study (Greensill et at., 2001) on calibration transfer for wet samples (intact melons) across silicon diode array instrumentation, we reported on the performance of various techniques (SBC, DS, PDS, double window PDS (DWPDS), OSC, FIR, WT, a simple photometric response correction and wavelength interpolative method and a model updating method) in terms of RMSEP and Fearns criterion for comparison of RMSEP. In the current study, we compare these melon transfer results to a similar study employing pairs of spectrometers for non-invasive prediction of soluble solid content of peaches.

A Study on the Measurement of Male Korean Hand - Focusing on Glove Size -

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the sizing system for men's glove. The combination of anthropometric and engineering aspects of glove pattern-making is difficult problem in engineering clothing. And the traditional measurements is not enough for glove. Therefore, to develop the hand measurement method and dimension for glove, a comprehensive list of candidate measurements was reviewed and the manufacturers (Their career was over the 15years) were interviewed on the method of glove pattern-making. This study was conducted traditional and creative 88 two-dimensional anthropometric measurements and 4 photometric measurements for glove pattern-making. In addition, 16 creative measurements were instrumented using a special hand measuring board for measuring of landmark locations on the hand. The subjects were 260 men's right hand in the age group of 18 to 35 years old in korea.

  • Flux calibration for narrow band photometric data gives us an opportunity to get a line flux of extended targets. We developed flux calibration processes for narrow band photometry using broad band filters as a continuum indicator. We derived parameters for color correction and zero point correction including color terms. Applying our method, we successfully subtracted continuum emissions and calibrated the emission lines from an FU Ori type object, V960 Mon.

  • This paper is pre-stage for getting EGI which can be used for modeling of an object. It discusses the construction of the vision processing system and its algorithm for getting needle diagram from tie object image. We realize the algorithm with monocular camera system, using Reflectance Map theory and photometric stereo method. We can calculate the surface normal at any point in the image if we take multiple images at the different lighting conditions. From the 3 images taken from different lighting conditions through the experiment, we get the needle diagrams of the sphere and the object. We confirm the validness of the surface, normal acquisition algorithm comparing the experimental needle diagram with the ideal one obtained from the surface normal of the known object.

THE BVR CCD PHOTOMETRY OF GLOBULAR CLUSTER M13

  • The BVR CCD photometry was performed for the globular cluster M13 down to $V=19^m$ over the region from the center to the west 13 arcmin and the CMD of M13 is investigated. The major photometric error in the crowded field which is due to the variation in the sky background was corrected by the median filtering method and the direct sky method. Some characteristics of the CMD of M13 obtained in the present study are as follows: Firstly, the distribution of stars on the CMD is well consistent with the mean lines of Sandage(1970) along the red giant branch(RGB), horizontal branch(HB) and asymtotic giant branch(AGB). Secondly, some gaps exists along the RGB and blue horizontal branch(BHB). Thirdly, the UV-bright stars are more concentrated at the inner region of the cluster.

측광입체시법을 이용한 하이라이트 검출과 농담 차이를 이용한 물체 복원 (Highlight Detection Using Photometric Stereo and Object Reconstruction Using Difference Image)

  • 컴퓨터 버젼의 많은 용용 분야에서 매끄러운 표면으로부터 반사되어 발생하는 하이라이트는 물체의 오인식에 주요 원인으로 작용한다. 본 논문에서는 물체의 기하 학적인 구조에 의해 광원의 위치가 다르면 하이라이트 위치도 달라진다는 측광입체 시법의 원리를 이용하여 하이라이트를 검출하고 물체의 복원하는 효과긴알고리즘을 제안한다. 광원의 위치가 다르게 물체의 두 화상을 시분할로 입력받아 기준 화상과 참조 화상으로 정하고, 두 화상의 평균을 구해서 참조 화상의 밝기가 기준 화상과 같게 정규화한다. 두 화상의 농담 차이를 구하고 농담 차이 화상을 이치화하여 하이 라이트의 전반사 스파이크를 검출한 후, 전반사 스파이크 주위의 전반사 로브를 검출하고 물체로 복원한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 방법은 물체 표면의 특성에 관계 없이 금속체 및 절연체에도 적용할 수 있으며 배경의 밝기가 물체보다 밝은 경우에도 효과적으로 적용할 수 있다.

  • The primary method of diagnosis in craniofacial deformity patient is used by gross inspection. The study for objective analysis and evaluation in Korean maxillofacial soft tissue portions is rare and our normals have been based on Caucasian such as American. But it is difficult to apply it to ours so we studied the frontal photometric measurements for maxillofacial Korean normals. The photograph were taken with the subject sitting in head position parallel with interpupillary plane to the floor. During taking pictures, facial analyser by Obwegeser in Martin was used for correct measurements. 54 male and 57 female ages 14 to 15 years were selected from a group of 111 healthy middle school students in Inchon. 1. The vertical measurements in glabella-subnasale, subnasale-stomion and stomion-menton in the male were higher than in the female subjects in $14{\sim}15$ years old Korean, so middle and lower third face were higher than those of female(p<0.05). 2. The horizontal measurements of female was higher than those of male in the rt. and It. eye width but smaller in nose width and lip width(p<0.05). 3. There was no significant difference in gender compared with soft cheek and mention angle measurements When our reports were compared with american white population, the vertical proportions in Korean normals were similar to american and the line measurements in middle facial length, nose width and intercanthal distance were higher than those of american.

중년 여성의 체형 분류 및 연령별 특징 연구 (A study on Somatotype Classification and Characteristics Related to Age of Middle-Aged Women)

  • This study is to classify the somatotypes of middle-aged women by many critera and figure out he characteristics of each somatotypes. The subjects are 614 middle-aged women between 35 and 59 years old and the research is based on anthropometric and photometric measurement by photographing their body parts. The results are as follows; 1. The result of factor analysis indicated that 11 factors were extracted through factor analysis and orthogonal rotation by the method of varimax and those factors comprised 85.71 percent of total variance. 2. As the result of cluster analysis the group of the middle-aged women is classified as 6 types. Type 1 is short, fat, H type in front and lean-back type on the side. Type 2 is standard in height and weight. Type 3 is standard height, fat, long upper body, bend-forward type and protrude of the hip on the side. Type 4 is tall, thin, short upper body, having clearly protrude of the back and hip and lean-back type on the side. Type 5 is neither short nor tall, slim, X type in front and I type on the side. Type 6 is tall, thin and B type on the side. 3. As the result of observing the mutual corresponding relation between these 6 groups and age/Rohrers Index, the somatotype of the middle-aged women is divided at the age of 45. Accordingly when it comes to progress the study of the middle-aged women in the future, we will have to observe the characteristics for dividing the first half and the second half of age of 45.

식쌍성의 극심시각 관측을 위한 소형 반자동 망원경 관측시스템의 구성 (A CONSTRUCTION OF A SEMI-AUTOMATIC TELESCOPE FOR ECLIPSE TIMING OBSERVATIONS OF ECLIPSING BINARY STARS)

  • 식쌍성 극심시각의 체계적인 측광관측을 위하여 충북대학교 교내에 소형 반자동 망원경 관측시스템을 구축하였다. 이 시스템은 Paramount GT-1100s 독일식 마운트와 Celestron 14 광학계, 그리고 SBIG ST-8 CCD 카메라로 구성되었다. 한편, 관측시스템의 제어는 OBSTOOL이라는 소프트웨어에 의하여 이루어지는데, 이는 상용소프트웨어인 The Sky와 MaximDL에서 지원하는 COM(Component Object Model)을 이용하여 망원경과 CCD 카메라를 제어하도록 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 광전관측방법과 유사하게 망원경을 변광성, 비교성, 검토성 등으로 이동시키며 관측을 수행한다. 또한, 효율적인 자료처리를 위하여 작성한 Perl 스크립트로 관측 자료를 날짜별, 관측시야별, 필터별로 분류하고, IRAF소프트웨어를 이용하여 관측 영상의 전처리작업 등을 수행하도록 하였다. 또한, 이 시스템으로 관측한 식쌍성들의 식부근 광도곡선을 제시한다.

  • We have been carrying out the long-term (3-5 years) AGN monitoring project since October 2015 to investigate the variability and measure the H beta line time lag of 69 nearby (0.06 < z < 0.47) AGNs based on the reverberation mapping method. Our targets have B band magnitudes of 14.4-18.6, luminosities of log L5100 = 45.6-48.1 erg/s, and the expected time lags of 28-597 light days. BVR band images are being taken with ~20-day cadence using MDM 1.3m, LOAO 1m and MDM 2.4m telescopes. Recently, Nickel 1m at Lick and DOAO 1m at Deokheung observatory are joined with photometric observations. Follow-up spectroscopic observations are on-going using the Lick 3m and MDM 2.4m telescopes. In this poster, we will describe our project including sample selection and the observational strategy, and present the preliminary results based on the 1st year photometry.
