인광입자(Sr,Mg)2SiO4:Eu2+를 이용한 액체의 온도장 측정에 관한 연구 (Study on Temperature Field Measurement of Fluid using Phophor Particle (Sr,Mg)2SiO4:Eu2+)

  • Phosphor particles ((Sr,Mg)2 SiO4:Eu2+ were suspended in deionized water in quartz cuvette and used for measuring liquid temperature field by using two-color-ratio method. In the temperature range of 23~77℃, it showed the relative error from 2.4% to 4% and the temperature sensitivity of 0.65 %/℃ at 30℃ and 0.95 %/℃ at 77 ℃. This performance is comparable to measurement techniques using thermographic liquid crystal or laser induced fluorescence or other thermographic phosphor particle. Among investigated potential error sources, the particle number density affected the intensity ratio and the temperature, but the effect of laser fluence was not evident.

  • For chromaticity correction, it is necessary to dispense high viscosity phosphor slurry since it greatly affects the performance of white LEDs. However, it is quite difficult to dispense high viscosity fluorescent materials. In the current study, micro-discharge electrostatic printing has been used for dispensing various high viscosity phosphor slurries. We have achieved dispersions of up to 50 µg using drop on demand (DOD) discharge experiments. The experiments were conducted with different combinations of process variables such as applied voltage, pneumatic pressure, and frequency.

Eu Doping Effect on $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ Phosphor Material

  • High brightness and long persistent luminescence phosphor $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ was prepared with varying $Eu^{2+}$ concentration by solid state reaction technique. Synthesized materials were investigated by powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD), SEM, TEM, photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra. Broad band UV excited luminescence of the $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ was observed in the blue region (${\lambda}_{max}\;=\;440\;nm$) due to transitions from the $4f^65d^1$ to the $4f^7$ configuration of the $Eu^{2+}$ ion. The decay time of the persistence indicated that the persistent luminescence phosphor has bright phosphorescence and maintains a long duration. These materials have great potential for outdoor night time displays.

  • SrTiO3 :Al, Pr phosphor as an oxide compound phosphor is expect to be applied for a field emission display(FED). In this phosphor the excitation spectrum shows a different tendency according to an addition Al3+ and Pr3+ In this excitation spectrum the main peak at 359 nm represent excitation level of Pr3+(1S0longrightarrow1D2 transition) and the absorption characteristic according to Ti/Sr molar ratio is influenced by the structure symmetry. The emission spectrum exhibits the red luminescence with the radiative decay of the 1D2 states(1D2 longrightarrow3H4 transition) The concentration quenching phenomena at 1D2 state shows up as Al3+ and Pr3+ ion concentration increases.

  • A red phosphor, $(Sr,Ca)_2P_2O_7:Eu^{2+},Mn^{2+}$, for UV-LED was synthesized under a reducing atmosphere, and its luminescent properties were investigated. The phosphor absorbs ultraviolet light at around 400 nm and efficiently emits red light at approximately 610 nm through an energy transfer from $Eu^{2+}$ to $Mn^{2+}$. Using the varied input current test for the phosphor-loaded LED lamps, it was found that the luminescent efficiency of the phosphor decreased with increasing light flux. This might be due to an increased probability of excited-state absorption and the consequent non-radiative relaxation in $Mn^{2+}$ ions in the condition of high photon influx.

  • Green-emitting $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphor particles having a spherical shape and high luminescence intensities under VUV were prepared by spray pyrolysis process under severe preparation conditions. The type of precursor solutions affected the morphology and luminescence characteristics of the prepared particles. The particles prepared from the clear solution by laboratory-scale process had spherical shape and dense morphology, while the particles prepared from the severe preparation conditions had rough surface and collapsed structure. However, the particles prepared from the colloidal solution utilizing fumed silica were spherical in shape and filled morphology at the severe preparation conditions of high flow rate of carrier gas, high concentration of solution, and large reactor size. The prepared $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphor particles with complete spherical shape had higher photoluminescence intensity than that of the commercial product prepared by solid state reaction.

Silicate 형광체 증가에 대한 발광 특성 및 신뢰성 분석 (Analysis for luminescence property about an increase quantity of silicate phosphor and reliability)

  • This paper presents a changes of luminescence property for converted white LEDs with the commercially available silicate phosphor. If silicate phosphor's quantity increase step by step. luminescence property will be changing. we analyze luminescence property for these change and carry out the high temperature aging test for 7,000 hours, the high temperature and humidity aging test for 7,000 hours for reliability. LED degradation not only results in reduced light output but also in color changes. so we monitor correlated color temperature (CCT), chromaticity coordinates(x, y) and spectrum intensity. Those results suggest that humidity factor more bad effect in color changes than temperature factor and Lighting quality is related with quantity of phosphor.

The SrLiAl3N4:Eu2+ Phosphor Synthesized by the Raw Material Model Obtained by DFT Calculations

  • Improvement studies of existing phosphors are needed for use in light emitting diodes (LEDs). Among the phosphors discovered recently, the SLA ($SrLiAl_3N_4:Eu^{2+}$) is a phosphor that has a narrow width. It is now known as a good red phosphor that meets the industry's needs for warm white (color temperature ranging from 2700 to 4000 K) and high CRI (> 80). However, SLA phosphors are obtained from difficult synthetic methods. All commercially available phosphors should be derived from the general solid state synthesis method. The phosphors produced by difficult synthetic methods will inevitably fall out of price competitiveness and will be scrapped. This study succeeded in synthesizing SLA ($SrLiAl_3N_4:Eu^{2+}$) phosphors by using a general solid phase synthesis method based on the reaction energy obtained from DFT calculations. As a result, we found an optimal solid state synthesis method for SLA phosphors.

연소합성법에 의한 YAG:Ce 형광체의 발광 특성 (Photoluminescence Characteristics of YAG:Ce Phosphor by Combustion Method)

  • The Ce-doped YAG(Yttrium Aluminum Garnet, $Y_3Al_5O_{12}$) phosphor powders were synthesized by combustion method. The luminescence, formation process and structure of phosphor powders were investigated by means of XRD, SEM and PL. The XRD patterns show that YAG Phase can form through sintering at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. This temperature is much lower than that required to synthesize YAG phase via the conventional solid state reaction method. There were no intermediate Phases such as YAP(Yttrium Aluminum Perovskite, $YAlO_3$) and YAM(Yttrium Aluminum Monoclinic, $Y_4Al_2sO_9$) observed in the sintering process. The powders absorbed excitation energy in the range $410{\sim}510\;nm$. Also, the crystalline YAG:Ce showed broad emission peaks in the range $480{\sim}600\;nm$ and had maximum intensity at 528 nm.

  • High brightness (Y$_{x}$/Gd$_{1-x}$ )$_2$O$_3$:Eu Phosphor Particles were directly Prepared in the spray Pyrolysis by adding flux materials such as LiCl and HBO$_3$. The (Y$_{x}$/Gd$_{1-x}$ )$_2$O$_3$:Eu particles prepared from solution with flux material had higher PL (photoluminescence) intensities than those prepared from solution without flux. In the spray pyrolysis, the flux acts as promoter of the growth of crystallite and activation of doping material as in the solid state reaction method. Additionally, the flux improved PL intensity of (Y$_{x}$/Gd$_{1-x}$ )$_2$O$_3$:Eu phosphor particles by densifying the internal structure and eliminating the defect existing inside and surface of (Y$_{x}$/Gd$_{1-x}$ )$_2$O$_3$:Eu phosphor particles.r particles.
