BEA(Boundary Element Analysis) based on Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation is widely used in the prediction of sound radiation problems of vibrating structures. Accurate estimation of sound pressure distribution by BEA can be [possible if and only if dynamic behavior of the relating structure was described correctly. Another plausible method of sound radiation phenomena could be the NAH(Nearfield Acoustic Holography) method. NAH also based on the identical governing equation with BEA could be one of the best acoustic imaging schemes but it has disadvantages of the complexity of measurement and of the need of large amount of measuring points. In this paper, modal expansion method is presented for taking accurate dynamic data of the structures efficiently. This method makes use of vibration principle an arbitrary dynamic behavior of the structure is described by the summation of that structures mode shapes which can be calculated by FEA easily and accurately. Sound pressure field from a vibration flat plate is calculated using the combination of vibration signal on that flat plate from experiment, and of the natural mode shapes form FEA. When sound pressure field from vibration signal is calculated the importance of the phase information was emphasized.
This paper proposes an efficient fault diagnosis method for ITSC(Inter-Turn Short Circuit) in three-phase induction motors using CNN. By utilizing only the D-axis component of the D-Q synchronous coordinate system, it compares SWM(Slide Window Method) and GAF(Gramian Angular Field) methods for image encoding. Results show GAF achieving ~74% accuracy, while SWM achieves ~65%, indicating GAF's superiority by 9%. Learning time (~14.74s) remains consistent, particularly with epochs ≤ 100, showcasing faster learning.
This paper investigates the effect of dual-phase-lags on a thermoviscoelastic orthotropic solid with a cylindrical cavity. The cylindrical cavity is subjected to a thermal shock varying heat and its material is taken to be of Kelvin-Voigt type. The phase-lag thermoelastic model, Lord and Shulman's model and the coupled thermoelasticity model are employed to study the thermomechanical coupling, thermal and mechanical relaxation (viscous) effects. Numerical solutions for temperature, displacement and thermal stresses are obtained by using the method of Laplace transforms. Numerical results are plotted to illustrate the effect phase-lags, viscoelasticity, and the variability thermal conductivity parameter on the studied fields. The variations of all field quantities in the context of dual-phase-lags and coupled thermoelasticity models follow similar trends while the Lord and Shulman's model may be different. The influence of viscosity parameter and variability of thermal conductivity is very pronounced on temperature and thermal stresses of the thermoviscoelastic solids.
A single-phase induction motor with it's stator winding splitted into two series windings, of which the terminals of one winding is switched pulsationally by a thyristor type ON-OFF device so that the motor may operate as a pulsational shaded-pole motor, can modulate current waveforms of it's two series windings. In view of current waveform modulation method, a single-phase single-winding motor operates as a two-phase induction motor with asymmetrical axis windings where the starting torque can be obtained effectively without an auxiliary capacitor attached and it's running speed controlled by shifting phase between current waveforms differently. Equivalent circuit for analysis is modified from a double revolving field equivalent circuit of a single-phase induction motor with asymmetrical windings whose angle is 45.deg.C elet. degrees. Analysis and test results show that ON-OFF action of the pulsational shaded-pole winding has the same effect of a series capacitor, and then at heavy loads this motor operates with a small amonut of the input current than that having the fixed shaded-pole winding.

0.65 mol% MgO-doped LiNbO$_3$single crystals were grown by CZ method. The obtained single crystals were colorless and transparent. Noncritically phase-matched second harmonic generation (SHG) of 532-nm radiation from 1064-nm in MgO-doped LiNbO$_3$has been investigated by using pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The phase-matching temperature was room temperature. SHG conversion efficiencies were typically achieved higher than 50% at the phase-matching temperature with no photorefractive damage in the region of fundamental power density which was used in this experiment. The thermo-birefringence coefficient and the electro-birefringence coefficient of SHG were calculated from the temperature phase-matching profile with the electric field.

Usng the P.Yeh's analytic method, we derive the condition for oscillation of a linear phase conjugate oscillator which consists of photorefractive medium and two conventional mirrors. From this general oscillation condition, we obtain the threshold oscillation conditon of a single phase conjugate resonator and the self-oscillation condition of photorefractive medium, then in special case (phase shift =90\ulcorner: no external dc electric field), oscillation conditions of the linear phase conjugate oscillator for any cavity length are derived. The results indicate that, unlike in a phase conjugate oscillator with Kerr-like medium, oscillation cannot occur at special cavity length for given couplinyg strengths.
High pressure X-ray diffraction study was carried out on a polycrystalline graphite to investigate the phase transition(s) at room temperature. Energy dispersive X-ray diffraction method was employed using a Mao-Bell type diamond anvil cell with an Wiggler synchrotron Radiation at the National Synchrotron Light Source. Sodium chloride power was used as the internal pressure sensor for the high pressure determinations as well as the pressure medium for quasihydrostatic pressure environment. Graphite transforms into a hexagonal didose not agree with the previously reported observations and this phase persists when pressure is released down to 0.1 MPa. This result dose not agree with the previously reported observations and this discrepancy would be due to the kinetics in phase transition as well as the uniaxially oriented pressure field in the diamond anvil cell.
A poling method using multiple negative voltage was introduced to fabricate periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) devices with quasi-phase matching (QPM) period of $12.9\;{\mu}m$ by utilizing an real-time visualization system. We also performed variation of the electric field during the poling. Two different conventionally used poling method, negative and positive single pulses, were used and the poling quality compared through microscopic images and far-field diffraction pattern analysis. Etched images on the +z and -z surfaces of PPLN showed that negative multiple pulse poling presented the highest periodicity in domain structures among the three methods. Duty ratio and its standard deviation were measured by analyzing far-field diffraction patterns. The newly introduced method of negative multiple pulse poling had duty ratio of 0.42 which was close to the ideal value of 0.50 and standard deviation of 0.020 that was about 3 times smaller than that of the other conventional methods.
In this paper, vibration and energy absorption characteristics of a nanostructure which is composed of two embedded porous annular/circular nanoplates coupled by a viscoelastic substrate are investigated. The modified couple stress theory (MCST) and the Gurtin-Murdoch theory are applied to take into account the size and the surface effects, respectively. Furthermore, the structural damping effect is probed by the Kelvin-Voigt model and the mathematical model of the problem is developed by a new hyperbolic higher order shear deformation theory. The differential quadrature method (DQM) is employed to obtain the out-of-phase and in-phase frequencies of the structure in order to predict the dynamic response of it. The acquired results reveal that the vibration and energy absorption of the system depends on some factors such as porosity, surface stress effects, material length scale parameter, damping and spring constants of the viscoelastic foundation as well as geometrical parameters of annular/circular nanoplates. A bird's-eye view of the findings in the research paper offers a comprehensive understanding of the vibrational behavior and energy absorption capabilities of annular/circular porous nanoplates. The multidisciplinary approach and the inclusion of porosity make this study valuable for the development of innovative materials and applications in the field of nanoscience and engineering.
This paper investigated the practical use for measuring the structural intensity (power flow per width of cross section) in a uniform semi-infinite beam in flexural vibration. The structural intensity is obtained as a vector at a measurement point, One-dimensional structural intensity can be obtained from 4-point cross spectral measurement, or 2-point measurement on the assumption of far field. The measurement errors due to finite difference approximation and phase mismatch of accelerometers are examined. For precise measurements, it would be better to make the value of k$\delta$(wave number x space between accelerometers) between 0.5 and 1.0. Formulation of the relation between bending waves in structures and structural intensity makes it possible to separate the wave components by which one can get a state of the vibration field. Experimental results are obtained from 2- and 4-point measurement performed at 200mm (near field) and 400mm (far field) apart from excitation point in random excitation. the results are compared with the theoretical values and measured values of input power spectrum in order to verify the accuracy of structural intensity method, 2-point method is suggested as the practical structural intensity method.
