In this study, we have constructed the acoustic microscope using quadrature technique and analyzed the relative variation of image intensity and the quality of image by reconstructing the amplitude and phase image for surface defects with tiny hight variation. In this experiment, we have constructed the scanning acoustic microscope using the focused transducer with 3㎒ center frequency and the quadrature detector. And we have fabricated aluminum samples with round defects whose depth is different and reconstructed the amplitude and phase images for the samples. One sample has round defects with 2㎜ diameter and 100㎛ depth and the other has round defects with 4㎜ diameter and 5㎜ depth. In the result of line scanning for the sample with 100㎛ round defects, it has been shown that the variation rate of amplitude image intensity is 7% and the variation rate of phase image intensity is 89%. The phase image has better contrast than amplitude image for the sample. In contrast to this, the amplitude image has better contrast than phase image for the sample with 5㎜ depth's defects. Accordingly there is big difference between amplitude image and phase image for depth variation of defects whose boundary is 1 wavelength. Consequently the acoustic microscope using quadrature detector can be evaluated efficiently more than using envelope detector, for detecting defects which have height variation less than 1 wavelength. And also the phase image and the amplitude image can be used for detecting defects of tiny height variation with complimentary relation.
The aim of microscopic image restoration is to recover the image by applying the inverse process of degradation, and the results facilitate automated and improved analysis of the image. In this work, we consider the problem of image restoration as a minimization problem of convex cost function, which consists of a least-squares fitting term and regularization terms with non-negative constraints. The finite step method is proposed to solve this constrained convex optimization problem. We demonstrate the convergence of this method. Efficiency and restoration capability of the proposed method were tested and illustrated through numerical experiments.

It is important to visualize a lesion accurately in diagnosis of disease. Many diseases result in a change of lesion. Magnetic resonance angiography can visualize the morphological characteristics of blood vessel. The magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) can be categorized to time-of-flight, phase contrast, and contrast enhanced MRA. In this paper, we introduce a principle, sequence, and feature of angiography For better image quality we describe data processing methods and show several applications to human bodies

In this paper a Phase-based virtual image encryption and decryption techniques based on a joint transform correlator (JTC) are proposed. In this method, an encrypted image is obtained by multiplying a phase-encoded virtual image that contains no information from the decrypted image with a random phase. Even if this encryption process converts a virtual image into a white-noise-like image, the unauthorized users can permit a counterfeiting of the encrypted image by analyzing the random phase mask using some phase-contrast technique. However, they cannot reconstruct the required image because the virtual image protects the original image from counterfeiting and unauthorized access. The proposed encryption technique does not suffer from strong auto-correlation terms appearing in the output plane. In addition, the reconstructed data can be directly transmitted to a digital system for real-time processing. Based on computer simulations, the proposed encryption technique and decoding system were demonstrated as adequate for optical security applications.
In this paper, we have studied the images which have been reconstructed by using combination of images acquired by the variation of operating frequency. When inner images have been reconstructed, they have been superposed by the surface state effect. In this case, the images of the phase object can be enhanced by the contrast of inner images. There is a kind of specimen, one is a reference block having 1/4T, 1/2T, 3/4T side drilled holes as main run piping material of the steam generator in nuclear power plants. It has been shown that the two results of defect shapes have better than before in this processing and phase contrast grow about twice. And we have constructed the acoustic microscope by using a quadrature detector that enables to acquire the amplitude and phase of the reflected signal simultaneously. Further more we have studied the reconstruction method of the amplitude and phase images, the enhancement method of the defect images' contrast.

This work is devoted to the technique application of lock-in infrared Thermography in the shipbuilding and ocean engineering industry. For this purpose, an exploratory study to find the optimized test conditions is carried out by the design of experiments. It has been confirmed to be useful method that the phase contrast images were quantified by a reference image and weighted by defect hole size. Illuminated optical intensity of lower or medium strength give a good result for getting a phase contrast image. In order to get a good phase contrast image, lock-in frequency factors should be high in proportion to the illuminated optical intensity. The integration time of infrared camera should have been inversely proportional to the optical intensity. The other hand, the difference of specimen materials gave a slightly biased results not being discriminative reasoning.

The purpose of this study is to obtain a useful diagnostic image by increasing the signal strength of the peripheral artery, was to use a T1 shortening effect of gadolinium contrast agents to improve the disadvantages of the phase image. From october to december 2014 thirty patients were underwent the MRI scanning, except for heart disease. Research method was evaluated comparing the image after gadolinium contrast MR image acquisition step before evaluating the difference between the signal intensity for T1 shortening effect. In frontal lobe 19.45%, temporal lobe 23.09%, occipital lobe 25.45%, parietal lobe 18.82%, cerebellum 20.93% after peripheral arterial signal strength results of gadolinium contrast agent injection was increased significantly after injection of gadolinium both statistically significant. After injecting a contrast agent gadolinium in SWI by increasing the signal strength of the T1 shortening effect can be obtained when using the phase image to give a useful image in diagnosis and treatment.

This paper investigates the phase singularity problem in microwave image reconstruction utilizing unwrapped phase data. The measured phases of the electric fields in most microwave measurement systems are wrapped. Thus, a certain phase unwrapping process is necessary for reconstruction of the image of a high contrast object. This unwrapping, however, is difficult in the presence of scattering nulls on/near the unwrapping path. At the null point, the phase value will be rendered, resulting in a poor image reconstruction. In this paper, we investigate the phase singularity arising from electromagnetic scattering nulls in microwave breast tomographic imaging. We then propose a transformation technique for the measured electric fields that avoids phase singularity.
Phase-contrast(PC) methods have been used for quantitative measurements of velocity and volume flow rate. In addition, phase contrast cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combines the flow dependent contrast of PC MRI with the ability of cardiac cine imaging to produce images throughout the cardiac cycle. In this method, the through-plane velocity has been encoded generally. However, the accuracy of the flow data can be reduced by the effect of flow direction, finite slice thickness, resolution, pulsatile flow pattern, and so on. In this study we calculated the error caused by misalignment of tomographic plane and flow directon. To reduce this error and encode the velocity for more complex flow, we suggested 3 directional velocity encoding method.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate computed tomography (CT) virtual non-contrast (VNC) spectral imaging for gastric carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Fifty-two patients with histologically proven gastric carcinomas underwent gemstone spectral imaging (GSI) including non-contrast and contrast-enhanced hepatic arterial, portal venous, and equilibrium phase acquisitions prior to surgery. VNC arterial phase (VNCa), VNC venous phase (VNCv), and VNC equilibrium phase (VNCe) images were obtained by subtracting iodine from iodine/water images. Images were analyzed with respect to image quality, gastric carcinoma-intragastric water contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), gastric carcinoma-perigastric fat CNR, serosal invasion, and enlarged lymph nodes around the lesions. Results: Carcinoma-water CNR values were significantly higher in VNCa, VNCv, and VNCe images than in normal CT images (2.72, 2.60, 2.61, respectively, vs 2.35, $p{\leq}0.008$). Carcinoma-perigastric fat CNR values were significantly lower in VNCa, VNCv, and VNCe images than in normal CT images (7.63, 7.49, 7.32, respectively, vs 8.48, p< 0.001). There were no significant differences of carcinoma-water CNR and carcinoma-perigastric fat CNR among VNCa, VNCv, and VNCe images. There was no difference in the determination of invasion or enlarged lymph nodes between normal CT and VNCa images. Conclusions: VNC arterial phase images may be a surrogate for conventional non-contrast CT images in gastric carcinoma evaluation.
