Recently PET fabrics woven by high sensitive PET yams were used as a high sensitive clothing. Such high sensitive PET woven fabrics for clothing are passing through various processes, and are influenced by processing tension and heat, it makes the physical properties of PET yarns changing and makes the defects of PET fabric. Therefore many difficulties are faced to decide processing conditions for making high sensitive PET fabric. But few research related to the processing conditions of PET yarns and issue point for producing high sensitive clothing was only performed. In this study, POY and SDY of PET manufactured in seven filament manufacturing companies are selected, and their physical properties in each layers of filament cake divided by 50000m are measured and analyzed. Especially, wet and dry shrinkages according to the various wet and dry heat temperatures are analyzed for supplying basic physical data of PET yam and for enhancing PET yarn quality used for the high sensitive clothing.
The weight loss for the mixture(raw-silk/PET) was tested to investigate the effects of weight loss accelerator on the degumming and weight loss. The degumming loss of raw-silk was decreased while the weight loss polyester(PET) was increased depending on the increase of accelerator concentration. The difference of the weight loss was not significant in raw-silk but the weight loss of PET was increased with the increase of the alkali concentration. The proper degumming of raw-silk was obtained and simultaneously the weight loss of PET was high for the raw-silk/PET "A" and "B" type. The proper degumming of raw-silk was obtained but the weight loss of PET was low for the raw-silk/PET "D" and "E" type. It showed that the typical degumming curve in raw-silk part and the weight loss of PET was increased depending on the treatment time in the weight loss for the fabric composed of raw-silk and PET.
In this work, source reduction of poly ethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging are discussed as aspect of sustainability, such as reuse, refill and recycling through the various treatment methods and historical studies for municipal solid waste (MSW) disposal. Since PET has good chemical, physical and mechanical properties, and provides good oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier properties, PET is one of the most widely used thermoplastic polyester in the U.S. and around the world. As the demand for non-renewable PET is increasing, several approaches have been developed to meet economical feasibility and environmental responsibility without degrading material performance. Several companies, such as Coca-Cola Co., Easterform Packaging Co. and Kraft, have tried to develop lightweight PET bottle, and some of lightweight PET bottles are already commercialized. Reuse and refilling for PET container is well developed in Europe, such as Denmark, German and Netherland by supportive legislation and policies. Recycling process is the best way to economically reduce PET waste. In consequence, advanced technique and further development must be provided due to increasing PET packaging waste.
The purpose of this study is to develop multifunctional fabric that has improved antimicrobial activity and reduction rate of gas by treatment of mixture of chito colla and crosslinking material for polyester. The surface morphology of treated PET fabric was studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The properties of the PET fabric, such as antimicrobial activity, whiteness, moisture regain, water absorption and static voltage, and handle were investigated. Antimicrobial activity of treated PET fabric was proved 99%. The surface of treated PET fabric showed harshness and irregularity. The whiteness of treated PET fabric on the baking condition was decreased as time and temperature was increased. The moisure regain of treated PET fabric equally was maintained. Water absorption and static voltage of treated PET fabric were improved. KOSHI of treated PET fabric was increased compared with the untreated PET fabric H/W of treated PET fabric was improved compared with the untreated PET fabric and 2HB/B of treated PET fabric were reduced.

Purpose Standardized uptake value(SUV) has been widely used as a quantitative metric of uptake in PET/CT for diagnosis of malignant tumors and evaluation of tumor therapy response. However, the SUV depends on various factor including PET/CT scanner specifications and reconstruction parameter. The purpose of this study is to validate a EQ PET to evaluate SUV across different PET/CT systems. Materials and Methods First, NEMA IEC body phantom data were used to calculate the EQ filter for OSEM3D with PSF and TOF reconstruction from three different PET/CT systems in order to obtain EARL compliant recovery coefficients of each spheres. The Biograph true point 40 PET/CT images were reconstructed with a OSEM3D+PSF reconstruction, images of the Biograph mCT 40 and Biograph mCT 64 PET/CT scanners were reconstructed with a OSEM3D+PSF, OSEM3D+TOF, OSEM3D+PSF+TOF. Post reconstructions, the proprietary EQ filter was applied to the reconstruction data. Recovery coefficient can be estimated by ratio of measured to true activity concentration for spheres of different volume and coefficient variability(CV) value of RC for each sphere was compared. For clinical study, we compared SUVmax applying different reconstruction algorithms in FDG PET images of 61 patients with lung cancer using Biograph mCT 40 PET/CT scanner. Results For the phantom studied, the mean values of CV for OSEM3D, OSEM3D+PSF, OSEM3D+TOF and OSEM3D+PSF+TOF reconstructions were 0.05, 0.04, 0.04 and 0.03 respectively for RC. Application of the proprietary EQ filter, the mean values of CV for OSEM3D, OSEM3D+PSF, OSEM3D+TOF and OSEM3D+PSF+TOF reconstructions were 0.04, 0.03, 0.03 and 0.02 respectively for RC. Clinical study, there were no statistical significance of the difference applying EQ PET on SUVmax of 61 patients FDG PET image. (p=1.000) Conclusion This study indicates that CV values of RC in phantom were decreased after applying EQ PET for different PET/CT system and The EQ PET reduced reconstruction dependent variation in SUVs for 61 lung cancer patients, Therefore, EQ PET will be expected to provide accurate quantification when the patient is scanned on different PET/CT system.
In this paper, a combined 18F-FDG(fluorodeoxyglucose) and MNP(magnetic nanoparticles) contrast agent was synthesized using N-(p-maleimidophenyl) isocyanate as the crosslinker for use in simultaneous PET-MRI scans. PET-MRI images were acquired and evaluated before and after injection of the combined contrast imaging agent (18F-FDG labeled MNP) from a glioma stem cell mouse model. After setting the region of interest (ROI) on each acquired image, the area of the lesion was calculated by segmentation. As a result, the PET image was larger than the MRI. In particular, the simultaneous PET-MRI images showed accurate lesions along with the surrounding soft tissue. The mean and standard deviation values were higher in the MRI images alone than in the PET images or the simultaneous PET-MRI images, regardless of whether the contrast agent was injected. In addition, the simultaneous PET-MRI image values were higher than for the PET images. For PSNR experiments, the original image was PET Image using 18F-FDG, MRI using MNPs, and MRI without contrast medium, and the target image was simultaneous PET-MRI image using 18F-FDG labeled MNPs contrast medium. As a result, all of them appeared significantly, suggesting that the 18F-FDG labeled MNPs contrast medium is useful. Future research is needed to develop an agent that can simultaneously diagnose and treat through SPECT-MRI imaging research that can use various nuclides.
Adrenal tumors are increasingly detected by widespread use of anatomical imaging such as a, MRI, etc. For these adrenal tumors, differentiation between malignancy and benignancy is very important. In diagnostic assessment of adrenal tumor, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET and PET-CT have been reported to have high diagnostic performance, especially, very excellent performance in evaluation of adrenal metastasis in the oncologic patient. In cases of adrenal incidentalomas, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET or PET-CT is helpful if a or chemical-shift MRI is inconclusive. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET and PET-CT may be applied to the patients with MIBG-negative pheochromocytomas. In summary, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET and PET-CT are expected to be effective diagnostic tools in the management of adrenal tumor.
In this study, to increase flame retardation of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) in burning, bisphenol A bis(diphenyl phosphate) (BDP), a well known flame retardant containing phosphorous, was reacted on end groups of PET by radical pathway. End-capping mechanism of PET with BDP was suggested and confirmed by spectroscopic and thermal analysis. From 400 MHz $^{31}P$ solid state FT-NMR spectrum of end-capped PET (PET-BDP), phosphorus spectra peak in BDP was found at ca. -20 ppm. Furthermore, P-C bond stretching vibration peaks were found ca. $600cm^{-1}$ in FT-IR spectrums of PET-BDP. These results showed that BDP can be chemically added on end groups of PET by our method. Thermal characteristics of pure PET (pPET) and PET-BDP were measured and evaluated by TGA analysis. There was not significant changes in thermal characteristics of PET-BDP compared to that of pPET.
To improve flame retardation of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) against burning, resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate) (RDP), phosphorous containing flame retardant, was incorporated into PET backbone by radical reaction pathway. Radical endcapping of PET with RDP was confirmed by spectroscopic and thermal analysis. From 400 MHz $^{31}P$ solid state FT-NMR spectrum of PET with RDP (PET-RDP), phosphorus spectra peak in RDP was found at ca. -10 ppm. Furthermore, P-C bond stretching vibration peaks were found ca. $530cm^{-1}$ in FT-IR spectrums of PET-RDP. These results indicated that RDP can be chemically bound at the ends of PET by radical addition method. Thermal characteristics of pure PET (pPET) and PET-RDP were measured and evaluated by TGA thermal analysis. There was not significant changes in thermal characteristics of PET-RDP compared to that of pPET.

Although the strength of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers which are generally used to make plastic bottles is low, the deformability of PET fibers is substantially high. Due to these material characteristics, a PET fiber can be used as a reliable strengthening material to resist a large deformation caused by earthquake and research pertinent to application of PET fibers is actively conducted in Japan. Therefore, in this study, experiments have been carried out to investigate the lateral confinement effect of PET fibers and to assess the applicability of PET fibers to construction fields by comparing the strengthening effect of PET fibers to that of carbon and glass fiber sheets. For this purpose, concrete cylinder specimens with parameters of different concrete strength and strengthening layers of carbon fiber sheets, glass fiber sheets, and PET fibers were respectively tested using two sets of cylinders for each parameter. As a result, specimens strengthened with carbon fiber sheets and glass fiber sheets failed due to sudden decrease of strength as with existing studies. However, specimens with PET fibers reached their maximum strength and then failed after gradual decrease strength without failure of PET fibers. In addition, although the strength of specimens with PET fibers did not significantly increase in comparison with that of specimens with carbon fiber sheets and glass fiber sheets, specimens with PET fibers indicated considerable deformability. Thus, a PET fiber can be considered as an effective strengthening material.
