  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the variables which had effects on the organizational communication satisfaction(OCS) based on the relationship between organizational members' personality types and conflict resolution styles. A questionnaire survey including social style profile and OCS scale was carried out with the various organizational members. The results showed that there were significant differences on the ways to resolve the conflicts according to personality types. The members who tended to assert their opinions with confidence had a high level of OCS. The results of path analysis on the variables influencing the OCS revealed that among the conflict resolution styles, the problem solving style and compromise style were associated with the OCS-social relationship. In contrast, the blaming style and imposing style were related with the degree of OCS-task. The members' individualistic variables such as organizational status and sex were important factors in explaining the differences of conflict resolution styles and the OCS. In conclusion, this study showed that the matching of conflict resolution styles with the members' task characteristics is a crucial factor in the production of effective organizational outcomes. The limitations of this study were reported along with the suggestions for the future studies.

  • In this research, I compared and analyzed the 'factors of style' that expresses and visualizes the 'characteristics of characters' and the characters from three movies each that was filmed with Kang Ho Song and Keong Ku Seol who acted in many movies both. As the result, for the factors for actors' makeup design, since they have limited choices of textures, colors, and the range of changes, changing the tone of skin to light to dark implied the images of characteristics. Somewhat dark skin tone that was like tanned skin expressed the life style of the character who works for an active profession not for an intellectual position. For the factors of hair style, medium sized wavy hair that goes straight down forehead expressed the character's familiar and informal personality while short cut sized all back style hair expressed confidence, sociality, and logical personality of the character. The actors' costume was important to express the characteristics of characters such as changes of their mind, especially the costumes delivered symbolic meanings of the role of their social class, profession, and their financial state. In addition, there were common factors to create and design a character in terms of the changes of the actors' body shape; when the actor acted the character who has conflicts inside and sarcastic personality, they lost weight on purpose while they gained weight and made a barrel shaped body to act the character who is positive in every occasion and does not realize the real world or who is greed.

  • The purpose of the research is to develop a systematic model to interpret makeup signs through a case analysis of makeup shown in Alexander McQueen's ready-to-wear collections from 2001 to 2010 and to prove an importance of makeup as a communication medium to deliver social and cultural values. This research employed Panofsky's Iconology theory to analyze data. This theory consists of three steps to interpret the meaning of a work: (1) pre-iconographical description, (2) iconographical analysis, and (3) iconological interpretation. Alexander McQueen's makeup was analyzed with the three steps in order. As a result of the pre-iconographical description step, makeup styles (icons) in his collections are identified which are Egyptian style, Gothic style, Androgynous style, Victorian style, Fantasia style, and Futuristic variant style. The iconographical analysis step identified that the elements used in his makeup are inspired by his identity and life. In the final step of iconological interpretation, the researcher concluded that Alexander McQueen's makeup expresses social, cultural, and aesthetical value of the time period when the collection was created. His makeup shows postmodernism that accepts a diversity of views (the pluralism) and humanism, romantic narcissism that is his personality trait, and avant-garde that pursues a new, creative aesthetics.

  • Analyzing the 2009 Korean General Social Survey(KGSS), this study attempts to elucidate the mechanism how content-irrelevant response patterns are formed in the social survey. This study investigates the relationship between personality traits and response styles. Specifically, the effects of Big Five factors(extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, openness to experience) of personality on the acquiescent response styles(ARS) and extreme response styles(ERS) are examined, controlling for individual characteristics and interview contexts. The results show that ERS is positively affected by extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, whereas ARS is not significantly associated with any dimension of personality traits. The implications of findings and the methods to reduce response bias are discussed.

In this study, we criticized that most of the studies related to rehabilitation were conducted from the point of view of natural science. The results of this study emphasized that rehabilitation-related research should broadly accept social science positions such as business administration. The main research findings are as follows. As a result of analyzing the relationship between trainer's communication style and rehabilitation ability, first, the trainer's cooperative and professional communication style affects emotional factors of injured players. Second, the trainer's cooperative and controlled communication style affects the cognitive factors of injured players. Third, the trainer's cooperative and professional communication style affects the behavioral factors of injured players. Fourth, the trainer's cooperative and professional communication style affects the rehabilitation satisfaction of injured players. Based on these results, this study was conducted to validate the necessity of discussing the trainer's communication style preference according to the individual background such as the injured player's gender, personality, and injury level, and the classification and composition of communication styles that match Korean culture and sentiment. As suggestions for follow-up research, active sharing of problems with adjacent disciplines such as sports sociology, sports education, and sports marketing, and parallel qualitative research centered on individual cases were suggested
