  • This study conducted a study on a small-capacity PCS using lithium-ion batteries used in personal mobility. Most of the batteries in Personal Mobility only charge with external chargers and are used only as mobile energy sources. However, this paper aims to charge the battery of PM using PV and system power or to use the charged power as a stand-alone power supply. The developed PCS can be operated as a two-channel battery charger/discharger, a battery charger using solar power, and a stand-alone solar inverter depending on the operation method. The validity of the manufactured small-capacity PCS was verified through experiments.

It can be expected that by systematically analyzing and organizing the characteristics and types of competences considering the duties of the airline cabin crew, the personal and organizational capacities of the cabin crew can be defined and presented theoretically. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - This survey was conducted over a seven-month period from February 1 to September 30, 2018 and was designated as a domestic airline flight attendant. Direct visits to Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport were also conducted through an online questionnaire. A total of 515 questionnaires were used for empirical analysis. To verify two hypothesis of this study, a regression analysis and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) were performed using SPSS WIN 26.0. Results - Analysis on the impact of personal capacity of airline cabin crew on job satisfaction showed that technical competence, knowledge capacity and ability capacity, which are sub-factor factors of personal capacity, had a positive effect on job satisfaction. Recovery resilience also plays a positive role in relationships between individual competence and job satisfaction. Conclusions - It has been empirically analyzed that the personal characteristics of the airline crew have a significant effect on flight attendant's job satisfaction. It can be seen that flight attendants tend to perform well beyond what is required in their duties, and that active and confident cabin crew members tend to perform well in the direction of improving their duties, and are also highly satisfied with their duties.

  • This study proposes a new methodology to estimate the traffic capacity of a personal rapid transit(PRT) system. The proposed method comprises three steps. The first step models the guideway network(GN) of PRT as a digraph, where its node and link represent a station and a one-way guideway link between two stations, respectively. Given local vehicle control strategies, the second step formulates the local traffic capacities through the nodes and links of the GN model. The third step estimates the worst-case local traffic demands based on a shortest-path routing algorithm and an empty vehicle allocation algorithm. By comparing the traffic estimates to the local traffic capacities, we can determine the feasibility of the given GN in traffic capacity.

  • Although asymptotic bounds of wireless network capacity have been heavily pursued, the answers to the following questions are still critical for network planning, protocol and architecture design: Given a three-dimensional (3D) network space with the number of active users randomly located in the space and using the wireless communication technology, what are the expected per-flow throughput, network capacity, and network transport capacity? In addition, how can the protocol parameters be tuned to enhance network performance? In this paper, we focus on the ultra wideband (UWB) based wireless personal area networks (WPANs) and provide answers to these questions, considering the salient features of UWB communications, i.e., low transmission/interference power level, accurate ranging capability, etc. Specifically, we demonstrate how to explore the spatial multiplexing gain of UWB networks by allowing appropriate concurrent transmissions. Given 3D space and the number of active users, we derive the expected number of concurrent transmissions, network capacity and transport capacity of the UWB network. The results reveal the main factors affecting network (transport) capacity, and how to determine the best protocol parameters, e.g., exclusive region size, in order to maximize the capacity. Extensive simulation results are given to validate the analytical results.

  • We present the required handover capacity of personal communication service exchange(PCX). We use the flow-based mobility model. The dimension of PCX area and the number of radio port controller(RPC) in a PCX are determined according to the traffic carrying capacity of switching system and RPC. For the rectangular or square-shaped PCX/RPC area and the personal communication service environment with pedestrian traffic, we perform numerical computations to investigate the sensitivity to cell size, portable station(PS) terminating traffic, its density, and its average speed. The results how that the size of PCX/RPC area decreases as the PS terminating traffic and the PS density increase, and the PCX handover capacity required is more than 73,000 in the number of transactions per hour.

  • The introduction of Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) has been widely discussed in the Korean transportation research field. However, there is no robust criterion to derive the throughput of cars and passengers at PRT stations, which plays a primary role in determining the overall capacity of PRT systems. The present study provided a methodology to rigorously compute the capacity for simple-serial PRT stations with a single platform, considering three decisive factors, i.e., the demand level of incoming cars and outgoing passengers, the station structure, and the operation strategy. A micro-level simulator was developed for the analysis of station capacity. And, by using this, station capacities were presented for various combinations of the decisive factors. In particular, the relationship between capacity and station structure was investigated in detail. Station structure is represented by the numbers of platform berths, input queue berths, and output queue berths. Moreover, both waive rate and waiting time, which represent the level of passenger service, were taken into account when the station throughput was computed.

  • This study investigated the performance of hygiene management according to the capacity and food cost of foodservice in kindergartens as a measure of kindergartens foodservice hygiene management. Dietitians from the education office visited 50 kindergartens under the control of Dongbu District Office of Education during January, 2011. Kindergartens were 11 public and 39 private institutions. Over half of kindergartens (n=27) provided foodservice to 50~99 children. About 21 kindergartens had a foodservice cost per student per day of 2,000 won. Regarding personal hygiene, 'whether to wear an accessory or have a manicure' showed the best performance. 'Whether to have their health examined once every 6 months or keep their health records in 2 years' was rarely performed. For food materials, 'whether to buy food appropriate for the quality control standard of food materials' showed the highest performance. The highest performances for storage management of food materials and handling of food was 'whether to store goods within butlery at intervals more than 30 cm from the ground' and 'whether to heat and cook food more than $74^{\circ}C$', respectively. The highest performance for distribution of food and management of facilities was 'the hygienic management of cooking tools and facilities' and 'the proper installation of air-conditioning, heating and ventilation facilities', respectively. The results of this study show that capacity and food cost had the strongest effects on performance of personal hygiene. Especially, smaller facility size could increase performance of foodservice management.
