Efficient Abnormal Traffic Detection Software Architecture for a Seamless Network

  • To provide a seamless network to customers, Internet service providers must promptly detect and control abnormal traffic. One approach is to shorten the traffic information measurement cycle. However, performance degradation is inevitable if traffic measurement servers merely shorten the cycle and measure all traffic. This paper presents a software architecture that can measure traffic more frequently without degrading performance by estimating the level of abnormal traffic. The algorithm in the architecture estimates the values of the interface group objects in MIB by using the IP group objects thereby reducing the number of measurements and the size of measured data. We evaluated this architecture on part of Internet service provider's IP network. When the traffic was measured 5 times more than before, the CPU usage and TPS of the proposed scheme was 7% and 41% less than that of the original scheme while the false positive rate and false negative rate were 3.2% and 2.7% respectively.

  • This paper deals with the development of a shape inspection system of the Light Guide Panel(LGP), and the study for the performance of the system. The conventional contact sensing methods have been used to inspect the shape. However the contact-sensing methods have some problems. The contact between a tip of the sensor and the surface of objects make a sensor tip abraded and generate a defect on the surface of objects.   • 본 논문은 반도체 제조 장비 중 몰드 장비에서 슬릿빔을 이용하여 칩 적층 높이를 측정하는 방법을 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 슬릿빔을 이용한 높이 측정 방법의 기본 원리를 응용하여 반도체 제조 장비 안에 적용하면서 칩의 적층높이 측정 성능을 높이기 위하여 두 가지 방법을 연구하였다. 첫째로, 카메라 노출 시간과 높이 측정 반복성의 관계이며, 둘째는 PCB(Printed Circuit Board)휨 현상에 대한 측정 오류 최소화를 위하여 최소자승법을 응용하여 측정 성능을 향상 시킬 수 있었다.

  • It is good to use DEA method as it can measure the efficiency without depending on a specific function like cost function. The method also finds out the most efficient group among the sample groups and gives us a specific number. For example, it shows what kind of factor of inefficient group gives how much input and produces how much output. Originally DEA, which was developed by Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes, allows us not only to measure the relative efficiency of Decision Making Units(DMUs) of non-profit organizations whose success cannot be measured by a single bottom-line figure such as profit but also to integrate several variables, which have different measuring scale, into a single model. Therefore we can use physical scales and financial scales simultaneously in the same model without any transformation process. In this study, price and measurable performance indexes of vehicles are used as input and outputs respectively. The purpose of this study is to propose an effective approach for evaluating the relative efficiency of vehicles and to determine the vehicles have high performance efficiency compared to product cost.

  • The success of a building design team is achieved as a result of a combination of multiple events/factors and interactions, and has a great impact on the quality of the building construction process. While most of previous studies have focused on quality of the construction process, the success of a design team has not been completely investigated. This paper presents the critical factors that impact the success of a building design team and describes an assessment tool to measure the successful performance of the design team with respect to the critical factors. The development of the assessment tool employs the concept of quality function deployment (QFD), a technique to measure the service quality of an organization.

사용후핵연료 연소도 측정을 위한 감마선 검출기의 분광특성 연구 (Spectroscopic Properties of Gamma-ray Detector to Measure the Burnup of Spent Nuclear Fuel)

  • Burnup of spent nuclear fuel should be determined accurately for the safety storage of spent nuclear fuel. In this study, a gamma detection system was developed as a part of basic research to measure the burnup of spent nuclear fuel, and its performance was evaluated using a calibration source. The prototype of the gamma detection system was based on a semiconductor sensor using a CZT (Cadmium Zinc Telluride). For quantitative evaluation, tests were conducted using 137Cs, 134Cs and 252Cf calibration source. In the performance evaluation, Its field applicability was verified by assessing the energy resolution, the detection linearity and the shielding attenuation according to the nuclide.

  • 사회기반시설물의 핵심 시설물 중 하나인 교량은 이용자들이 쉽게 접하고 이용하는 시설물로 일정 수준이상의 성능유지는 필수적으로 요구된다. 교량건설 역사가 상당히 오래된 호주, 뉴질랜드, 미국, 유럽 등의 최근 관련 연구보고서 등의 사례를 비추어 보았을 때, 우리나라 또한 교량의 기대수명에 도달하는 10-20년 내 교량의 유지관리 및 개축 수요가 급격하게 증가될 것으로 예상되므로 비교적 건전한 상태를 유지하고 있는 현 시점에서 한정적인 예산을 효율적으로 분배하기 위해 교량 성능을 적정 수준 이상으로 유지하며 LCC 측면에서의 비용은 최소한으로 투입하는 합리적이고 공학적인 의사결정방법론이 필요하다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 호주, 뉴질랜드 및 미국 등에서는 오래전부터 자산관리체계를 마련하기 위하여 많은 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모든 교량을 관리할 수 있는 범용적인 자산관리체계와 교량이 제공하는 서비스수준(Level of Service)과 이를 측정하기 위한 성능측정기준을 개발하기 위한 사전 기초연구로써 연구의 범위를 도심지의 교량으로 한정하여 그 자산관리체계와 서비스수준을 개발하고자 한다. 전문가와 이해관계자로 구성된 워크숍을 실시하여 국내 실정에 맞는 도심지 교량자산관리체계와 그 서비스수준(LOS) 및 성능 척도(PM)를 개발하고 다속성 효용이론(Multi-Attribute Utility Theory)와 AHP기법을 이용하여 성능 지표별 가치의 값과 성능 척도의 가중치 분석을 실시하였다. 도출 된 성능 척도의 가중치와 성능 지표의 가치(Value) 등의 적용 확인을 위해 ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$시의 교량 6개를 선별하여 LOS분석을 적용하고 그 결과를 고찰하였다.

  • Most organizations adopt their own performance measurement systems. Those organizations select performance measures to meet their goals. Organizations can give only limited description of what performance measures are. Kaplan and Norton suggest that the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to complement the conventional performance measures. The BSC can provide management system with a comprehensive strategic vision and integrates non-financial measures with financial measures. The BSC is widely used for measuring corporate performance. This paper investigates how the BSC-based performance measures can be applied to Learning City. The Learning City's performance measures and strategy map on the basis of the BSC are suggested in this research. This paper adopt the AR(assurance region)-DEA model which could limit the range of weight on performance measures to prevent each viewpoint of BSC from having unlimited elasticity. The proposed model is based on CCR model including a property of unit invariance to use the data without normalization process.

Can you predict the production performance using the make-ready performance?: Cases on highway construction projects

  • The research investigates for the relationship between the operating performances of the make-ready process and project production performance. To this end, the researchers proposed a metric of PCR (Percentage of Constraint Removal) to measure the make-ready performance. The study measured the production performance in two ways: production planning reliability and progress performance. We hypothesized that how well the make-ready process is performed has an impact on the degree of production performance. The statistical analyses are used to investigate that how operating performance of the make-ready process affects project production performance. The results of the regression analysis support our hypotheses (p<0.25) and correlation coefficients for the relationship between project production performance and make-ready performance are also significant (p<0.05).

  • This paper covers the performance testing for layer 3 Ethernet switch based on various methodologies by which we can measure essential metrics such as throughput, latency, frame loss rate, and back to back frames. In the first place, layer 2 and layer 3 switch evolution is introduced followed by description of IP packet switching in layer 3 switch. And then, the above test metrics and test methodologies are illustrated as well. At last, we conduct the performance testing for layer 3 switch in case of transmitting packets of 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 1280, and 1518 byte size and analyze then results.
