저분화 성상세포종-수술후 방사선치료가 필수적인가 ? (Low Grade Astrocytoma-Need Postoperative Radiotherapy or Not?)

  • 저분화 성상세포종에 대한 방사선 치료의 역할이나 적정 방사선량, 치료시기등은 논란의 여지가 많다. 후향적 분석결과로 얻은 정보는 방사선량이나 외과적 또는 방사선 치료에 의한 시술시기 등의 관점에서 전향적인 연구계획을 세우는데 도움이 된다. 저자들은 1979년부터 1989년까지 경희대학병원에서 수술로 확진된 저분화 성상세포종 환자중 천막하부를 제외한 총 56(남 : 여 =29:27)명에 대한 치료결과를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 수술절제범위는 38명 ($68\%$)에서 근치수술하였고, 18예 ($32\%$)는 부분절제 또는 조직생검만 시행하였다. 총 56예중 수술후 방사선치료를 받은 환자는 36명 ($64\%$)이었고, 방사선량은 최저 5000 cGy를 국소조사하였다. 총 56예의 5년 및 10년 생존율은 각각 $44\%$$32\%$였으며, 중간 생존기간은 4.1년이었다. 조직소견에 따른 5년 및 10년 생존율은 grade I(23명)이 각각 $52\%$$35\%$이고, grade II(23명)는 $20\%$$10\%$였다. Oligodendroglioma 환자는 성상세포종보다 생존율이 높았으며(5년 생존율=$65\%$ vs $36\%$)장기간 생존율은 각각 $54\%$$23\%$로 현저한 차이가 있었다. 다량의 방사선치료를 받은 (<54 Gy)환자는 소량의 방사선 (<54 Gy)이나 수술만 받은 환자보다 5-년 및 10-년 생존율이 높았다(P<0.05). 수술범위에 따른 5년 생존율은 $46\%$$41\%$로 비슷하였으나, 10년 생존율은 근치수술한 경우가 $41\%$, 부분절제 또는 조직생검한 경우는 $12\%$로 현저한 차이가 있었다(p<0.01). 과거 여러 저자들의 연구에 의하면 환자나이, 수술범위, 방사선치료유무, 악성도, 증상 발현기간, 수행능력 상태등이 성상세포종의 중요 예후인자라고보고하였으나, 본 저자들의 예에서는 grade I조직소견 (p<0.025)과 환자나이 (p<0.001)가 가장 중요한 예후일자였으며 향후 무작위화한 전향적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

Modified Unscented Kalman Filter for a Multirate INS/GPS Integrated Navigation System

  • Instead of the extended Kalman filter, the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) has been used in nonlinear systems without initial accurate state estimates over the last decade because the UKF is robust against large initial estimation errors. However, in a multirate integrated system, such as an inertial navigation system (INS)/Global Positioning System (GPS) integrated navigation system, it is difficult to implement a UKF-based navigation algorithm in a low-grade or mid-grade microcontroller, owing to a large computational burden. To overcome this problem, this letter proposes a modified UKF that has a reduced computational burden based on the basic idea that the change of probability distribution for the state variables between measurement updates is small in a multirate INS/GPS integrated navigation filter. The performance of the modified UKF is verified through numerical simulations.

초등학교 저학년 읽기부진아를 위한 읽기중재프로그램의 효과 (The Effectiveness of Reading Intervention on At-Risk Children in First through Third Grade)

  • This study investigated the effectiveness of reading intervention on at-risk readers from first through third grade. The 34 children below the 20th percentile on an oral reading fluency test participated in the reading intervention program for 15 weeks. They received small group instruction in one 40-minute session per week. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, paired t-test and effect size for individual cases. Upon completion of the intervention, at-risk first graders showed significantly higher performance in print concept, word recognition, oral reading fluency and reading comprehension. The at-risk second and third graders improved only in oral reading fluency. Most of children who received the intervention demonstrated a large effect in oral reading fluency.

  • This paper presents TPS(Train Performance Simulation) which identified the condition of train operationing in short time. Using the program, the location of train, maximum current, metering power and regenerating of train, could be identified. This is an important part for Power Simulation. It is supposed that the grade, the curve, the limit speed and the current speed be constant within the time step in the conventional papers. In addition, the errors of the grade and the curve in each station interval are neglected. This paper will introduce improvement method the problem of TPS.

  • There are several methods determining an appropriate performance grade of virgin binder, which is re(erred as design binder, in RAP contained bituminous mixture design process. However, difficulties have been experienced in utilizing the methods in the field application in Korea, because SHRP binder test, the key tests to determine a design binder, requires well-trained personnel, high price equipment, and time consuming process. Thus, the study investigated the relationship among the binder aging level, RAP contents, and rheologica1 properties of binder. The study results provide mix designer with a simple method in selecting an appropriate grade of virgin binder.

Effect of Slag Grade and Cement Source on the Properties of Concrete

  • Presented in the paper are findings of a project that examined the effect of slag grade and cement source on the performance of concrete mixtures. Slag cement contents were 20, 40, and 60 percent of the total cementitious material content. Two grades of slag cement were examined (Gr. 100 and Gr. 120) along with two sources of Type I cement. Compressive strength, durability, and permeability were measured. The results showed that the cement source affected the early age strength of the mixtures. At 28 days of age, mixtures containing Gr. 120 slag cement had higher compressive strengths than mixtures containing Gr. 100 slag cement, but by 90 days of age, the trend reversed. As for the chloride ion penetrability, mixtures cast with Gr. 100 slag cement passed fewer coulombs at 28 and 90 days of age than similar mixtures containing Gr. 120 slag. Mixtures containing Gr. 120 slag had the greatest durability factors.

  • Planning earthmoving haul-route must be preceded for appropriate equipment fleet assignment. However, traditional haul-route planning methods have limitations relative to practical usage because multiple variables (e.g., grade/rolling resistance, length, equipment's weight etc.) should be considered at a time. Genetic algorithm(GA) was introduced to improve these traditional methods. However, GA based haul-route planning method still remains in inefficiency relative to computation performance. This study presents a new haul-route searching method that computes an optimal haul-route using GA. The system prototype is developed by using MATLAB(ver. 2008b). The system identifies an optimal haul-route by considering equipment type, soil type, and soil condition.

  • This study dealt with an experimental study on development of tile grout cement complied with international standards criteria. Tile Grout Cement is divided two grade, 1 type and 2 type, in KS F 1592:2011. International Standards(ISO) is divided 9 grade. performance evaluation for cement content was measured according to KS L ISO 13007. water absorption test results are based on the cement content 30% were satisfied with International Standards criteria. strength test results are based on the cement content 25% were satisfied with International Standards criteria.

  • In this paper we propose AODC(Adaptive Over Driving Circuit) to reduce motion blurring and compensate color accuracy on LCD monitor. The proposed method has been experimented on adaptive ODC by motion grade after detection of moving objects. Also, we discriminated motion grade by mean value's degree of differential value between current frame and previous frame to detect moving objects. It has been found that the proposed method provides better performance than the conventional one from the point of view on the blurring of movement objects through the experiment. Its results show that the proposed method is very suitable for a motion blurring reduction on LCD monitor.

극한 무인 로봇 차량을 위한 MEMS GPS/INS 항법 시스템 (MEMS GPS/INS Navigation System for an Unmanned Ground Vehicle Operated in Severe Environment)

  • An unmanned ground vehicle can perform its mission automatically without human control in unknown environment. To move up to a destination in various surrounding situation, navigational information is indispensible. In order to be adopted for an unmanned vehicle, the navigation box is small, light weight and low power consumption. This paper suggests navigation system using a low grade MEMS IMU for supplying position, velocity, and attitude of an unmanned ground vehicle. This system consists of low cost and light weight MEMS sensors and a GPS receiver to meet unmanned vehicle requirements. The sensors are basically integrated by loosely coupled method using Kalman filter and internal algorithms are divided into initial alignment, sensor error compensation, and complex navigation algorithm. The performance of the designed navigation system has been analyzed by real time field test and compared to commercial tactical grade GPS/INS system.
