전기절약방법의 효과에 대한 소비자인식과 실천행동에 관한 연구 (Consumer Perceptions on the Effects of Electricity Saving Methods and Electricity Saving Behavior)

  • This study investigated consumers' energy saving behavior and perceptions concerning the effectiveness of their energy saving behavior. A nation wide survey was conducted involving 2000 households in urban areas and the data from 1767 households were used for the analysis. excluding cases with incomplete responses. Descriptive analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis were applied. The results were as follows. First, electricity saving behavior was classified into three categories: Thrift (reducing energy consumption), Purchase (buying energy saving appliances), and Control (checking the energy consumption). Second, consumers rated Thrift as the best way to save energy. Third, education, age, and household income were significantly related to energy saving behavior and perceptions on the effectiveness of energy saving behavior. Consumers using above average levels of electricity tended not to practice energy saving behavior and not to positively evaluate effectiveness of the energy saving behavior. Lastly, the implications for public policies to promote energy saving behavior are suggested.

에너지교육에 대한 학교 조직 내 관리집단과 교수집단의 인식 수준 차이 (Perspective of Energy Education: Comparison between the Management Group and the Teaching Group)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the management group' and the teaching group' perception of energy education in Korea. For this purpose, this study carried out a questionnaire survey at schools participating in the energy saving policy. The data was collected from six managers and 171 teachers in middle schools. First, the results indicated that both the management group and teachers have a considerable interest in teaching energy saving practice. How ever the management group showed more preference toward teacher-leading courses, such as lecture, compared to the teachers Second, both the management group and teachers tended to take extracurricular activities. Third, the manager group mostly got energy educational resource from the teacher training program, textbook and teacher's companion. However the teachers mostly did from the mass media. Fourth, compared to the teachers, the managers preferred to allot more budgets to school facilities than to activities related to educating students related to energy. Fifth, the management group pointed out curriculum-making and more budget as the necessity to enhance energy education but the teaching groups did students' interest. Sixth, both the management group and teachers emphasis on the need of energy education.

초등 예비교사들의 지속가능 발전에 대한 인식, 태도 및 실천 의지에 대한 조사 연구 (A Survey of Pre-service Elementary Teachers' Perceptions, Attitudes and Practical Intention toward Sustainable Development)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the pre-service elementary teachers' perceptions and attitudes toward sustainable development. Subjects were 152 university students, who were surveyed by questionnaire. The instrument consisted of totally 41 items which were constructed by 3 components; 'the perception of concept of sustainable development', 'the attitude toward the relationship between economy and environment' and 'the practical intention of personal change for sustainable lifestyle'. The key findings suggest that most students associate strongly the concepts of sustainable development with their environmental as against economic and social aspect. Most of them incline toward eco-centrism but they had complex attitudes concerning the relationship between economy and environment. They have intention to act for sustainable lifestyle such as purchasing habits, recycling, energy water saving, forms of transportation, nature conservation and education. However, they prefer to act passively than actively in a certain aspect of sustainable lifestyle. Understanding of pre-service elementary teachers' perceptions of and attitudes toward sustainable development will be helpful to work out teaching and learning strategies in environmental education.

동아시아 4개국 학생들의 핵에너지에 대한 인식 비교: 과학캠프에 참가한 한국, 일본, 대만, 싱가포르 10학년 학생들을 대상으로 (Comparison of Perception Differences About Nuclear Energy in 4 East Asian Country Students: Aiming at $10^{th}$ Grade Students who Participated in Scientific Camps, from Four East Asian Countries: Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore)

  • 이 연구는 일본 Nara Woman's University Secondary School에서 이루어졌던 과학캠프에 참가한 동아시아 4개국(한국, 일본, 대만, 싱가포르) 10학년 학생들을 대상으로 조사한 것이다. 한국 학생 12명, 일본 학생 46명, 대만 학생 9명, 싱가포르학생 10명으로 전체 77명에 대하여 핵에너지에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 핵에너지에 대한 인식의 전체 평균 비교 결과 한국, 대만, 싱가포르, 일본 학생들 순으로 나타났다. 일본과 동아시아 3개국(한국, 대만, 싱가포르) 학생들 간 핵에너지에 대한 인식의 t 검증 비교 결과 동아시아 3개국 학생들이 일본 학생들보다 높게 나타났다(p<.05). 핵에너지에 대한 인식의 하위 영역별로 평균 비교 결과 기술성 영역에서는 한국, 일본, 대만, 싱가포르 학생들 순으로 나타났고, 동아시아 3개국 학생들과 일본 학생들과의 기술성 영역의 t 검증 비교결과 유의미한 차이를 보이지는 않았다(p>.05). 관리성 영역의 평균 비교에서는 한국, 대만, 싱가포르, 일본 학생들 순으로 나타났으며, 동아시아 3개국 학생들과 일본 학생들 간 t 검증 비교 결과는 유의미한 차이가 나타났다(p<.05). 유용성 영역의 평균 비교 결과 한국, 대만, 싱가포르, 일본 학생들 순으로 나타났으며, 동아시아 3개국 학생들과 일본 학생들 간 t 검증 비교 결과는 유의미한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 안전성 영역의 평균 비교 결과 한국, 대만, 일본, 싱가포르 학생들 순으로 나타났으며, 동아시아 3개국 학생들과 일본 학생들 간 비교 결과는 유의미한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 과학 캠프에 참가한 동아시아 4개국 가운데 한국 학생들의 핵에너지에 대한 인식이 가장 높게 나타났고, 하위 모든 영역에서도 높게 나타났다. 이는 그동안 정부에서 원자력사업자와는 별도로 원자력홍보전문기관을 설립하여 원자력 발전에 대해 과학적, 객관적 정보를 가지고 활발하게 계몽 및 홍보활동(원자력문화 활동)을 펼쳤고, 학생들이 이에 대한 홍보를 많이 접했기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 반면에 우리나라보다 12년 앞서 원자력발전을 시작한 일본의 경우 원자력홍보전문기관인 일본원자력문화진흥재단의 원자력문화 활동을 학생들과 성인 등을 대상으로 계몽 및 홍보활동을 전개하고 있으며, 과학캠프에 참가한 동아시아 4개국 중 가장 많은 원자력 발전소를 보유하고 운영을 하고 있으나 지진해일(쓰나미)로 인한 후쿠시마 원전 사고와 방사능 누출에 따른 피해와 우려로 인하여 일본 학생들의 핵에너지에 대한 인식이 낮게 나타났다고 볼 수 있다. 이는 원자력 관련 기술이나 시설이 정상적으로 작동하고 관리된다는 정보보다는 체르노빌 원전 사고와 같은 대재난이나 중대한 사고들에 대한 정보가 대중의 위험인식에 더 큰 영향을 미치며, 이러한 대형 사고들은 그 빈도가 매우 낮지만 한 번의 사고만으로도 해당 기술에는 비정상적인 위험이 존재한다는 강한 신호(signal)를 만들어내고, 이러한 신호는 사람들에게 부정적인 이미지와 인식을 고착시켜 최종적으로는 원자력 관련 기술에 대한 낙인화(stigmatize)를 초래하기도 한다는 연구결과를 지지하였다. 이를 통해 원전의 안전관리를 최우선으로 하는 국가의 정책전환이 가장 중요하다고 볼 수 있으며, 한번 형성된 인식이나 결정은 계속 보강, 유지되어 교정되기가 쉽지 않다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Policymakers and stakeholders' perceptions of science-driven nuclear energy policy

  • This study surveyed 137 policymakers and key stakeholders (e.g., employees of government agencies, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, industry, and advocacy groups) involved in making decisions on nuclear energy policy, investigating how they differentially perceived the importance of scientific evidence in driving nuclear policy. We also identified the policy areas that each group of decision-makers are mostly concerned about and showed how such concerns might contextualize and ultimately shape their perceptions of science-driven policy.

보상 제공 방법에 따른 협동학습의 효과 (The Effects of Reward Methods in Cooperative Learning)

  • 본 연구에서는 협동학습에서 보상 제공 방법의 효과를 학생들의 성취도, 학습 동기, 수업 환경에 대한 인식, 그리고 보상 제공 방법에 대한 인식의 측면에서 조사하였다. 서울시 남녀 공학 중학교에서 1학년 61명을 선정하고 ''물질의 세 가지 상태'', ''분자 운동'', ''상태 변화와 열에너지'' 단원에 대하여 14차시 동안 수업을 실시하였다. 보상 제공 방법은 과제 지향 보상과 수행 지향 보상으로 구분하였다. 연구 결과, 상위 학생들은 과제 지향 보상 집단에서, 허위 학생들은 수행 지향 보상 집단에서 성취도 중 적용 영역의 점수가 높게 나타났다. 과제 지향 보상 집단이 학습 동기 중 주의집중과 관련성, 수업 환경에 대한 인식 중 과제 지향성, 참여도, 질서와 조직성에서 유의미하게 높았다.

유아교육기관의 환경보전 부모교육프로그램 효과연구 (The Effectiveness of a Child-Care Centers' Based Parent Education Program on Environmental Preservation)

  • Training for mothers and children first included information on water, ground, and air pollution, saving energy, and reducing trash. In the second phase, the family followed steps outlined in an environmental preservation guidebook. The experiment was of 16 weeks duration, conducted with 120 subjects, comprised of sixty 4-year-old children and their mothers. Measures included environmental preservation knowledge and the actual practice of environmental preservation on the part of the subjects. Mothers performed self-evaluations while teachers measured the children. SPSS was used for data collection and analysis. The results of this study indicate that the program increased perceptions on environmental preservation and the actual practice of the experimental group. The program application also resulted in meaningful co-relationships between perceptions and practice and between mothers and their children.

울산지역 주부의 녹색식생활지침에 대한 인식 및 실천 (Perceptions and Practices for Core Action Message on Green Dietary Life: The Case of Homemakers in Ulsan, Korea)

  • The Ministry for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs developed a program called "Core Action Massages for Green Dietary Life" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption and improve health. This study examines the degree of perceptions and practices with respect to these massages by considering a sample of 245 homemakers in Ulsan, Korea. The questionnaire consisted of questions about perceptions and practices of Core Action Massage and its three parts of detailed massages: , , . The data were analyzed with cross tabulation analysis, Tukey analysis after ANOVA. The score of agreement to Core Action Massage was 4.57(range 1-5). The score of perception about showed significant differences in age(p<0.01) and income(p<0.05). The score of perception about and showed significant differences in age(p<0.05). The score of practicing showed significant differences in age(0.001), education(0.01), housing style(p<0.01), and region(0.01). The score of practicing showed significant differences in age(p<0.001), education(0.05), and region(0.05). The frequency of practices for was low. As to the results of the study, education on green dietary life must be provided to homemakers, especially young homemakers. Opportunities to experience of farming to appreciate others' efforts to obtain food should also be provided.

미국 Virginia Tech 공학교육과에서의 공학교육 혁신 (Innovation of Engineering Education in Department of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech in the United States)

  • In 2004, a department of engineering education was established at Virginia Tech and Purdue university in the United States. Innovation of engineering education for improving the quality of engineering college education has been progressing. Content of subject of engineering exploration was developed newly for engineering college freshmen. And, effect of a sustainable energy design project on academic achievement for engineering freshmen at Virginia Tech in 2006 was researched. The project was performed throughout a 6 weeks period with one by 50 minutes lecture by professor and one 90 minutes workshop by TAs (Teaching Assistants) every week. To analyze the data, statistical package SPSS (ver. 15.0) was used. In responses to an open-ended question about freshmen students' perceptions of their improvement in design skills, the 3 most identified skills were teamwork, design process, knowledge. In, Korea, an innovation relating to engineering curriculum, facility, instructional strategy and so on will be required.

원자력 관련 정책 커뮤니케이션에 관한 상호인식 연구: 일반 국민과 원전 직원 간의 상호지향성 분석 (Mutual Perceptions between Nuclear Plant Employees and General Public on Nuclear Policy Communication Applying the Co-orientation Analysis Model)

  • This study examines mutual perceptions between general public and nuclear plant employees on understanding nuclear policy communication applying the co-orientation model. The total of 414 responses were analyzed including 211 of the general public and 203 of plant employees. Results indicate that agreement between general public and plant employees is relatively high, in that general public tends to have negative evaluation to nuclear policy communication, but plant employees tends to have positive one. In terms of congruence, general public perceive that plant employees might have more positive evaluation than themselves, and nuclear plant employees perceive that general public might have more negative evaluation than themselves. Finally, in terms of accuracy, general public accurately estimate how nuclear plant employees perceive on policy communication, whereas nuclear plant employees unaccurately estimate how general public perceive on policy communication.
