  • The study examines factors that influence shopping intention of online consumers in Vietnam. Studied factors include consumers' attitude, subjective norms, perception of behavioral control, perception of usefulness, perceived risks and trust. The expansion of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) are used as basic theories. We have surveyed people who have experiences on online shopping. There are 836 selected questionnaires that are qualified for data processing. The collected data are analyzed through a process which starts from scale reliability test to exploratory factor analysis (EFA), correlation analysis and regression analysis. The results show that shopping intention of online consumers are positively affected by their attitude, subjective norms, perception of behavioral control, perception of usefulness and trust. In contrast, online shopping intention is negatively affected by the perceived risks that online shopping could bring. Among those factors, the perception of risk is shown to have the strongest influence to online shopping intention. The findings of this study suggest that managers and retailers can apply cash-on-delivery method and design their website with user-friendly interface to enhance online shopping intention of consumers. The Government is also recommended to fulfill the law system to reduce customers' perception of financial risks.

  • This study determines how social media users (SMUs) verify the information they come across on the Internet. It determines SMUs' perception of online fact-checking services in terms of their ease of use, usefulness, and trust. By conducting a focus group discussion and key informant interviews, themes were derived in determining fact-checking practices while a survey was further conducted to determine such perceived ease of use, usefulness, and trust in fact-checking services. The thematic analysis revealed major information verification practices, such as cross-checking and verifying with other sources, inspecting comments and reactions, and confirming from personal and social networks. The results showed that SMUs considered fact-checking services easy to use. However, a concern was raised about their usefulness stemming from the delayed action in addressing the information issues that need to be verified. As to perceived trust, it was found that SMUs have reservations about fact-checking services. Finally, it is believed that fact-checking services are expected to be credible and need to be promoted to mitigate any form of fake news, particularly on social media platforms.

  • The aim of the study was to explore the effects of parental media mediation types on adolescents' perception of the usefulness of the broadcasting rating system. A total of 520 middle school students participated in the survey. Results showed a higher utility of 'autonomy-supportive restriction' strategy by the parents led to more positive perception of the usefulness of the rating system. This study argues that parents need to pursue a mediation strategy in which a rationale for prohibiting media contents use should be provided and in which the perspective of the adolescent is taken seriously.

  • Purpose - This study examines the effect of consumers' motivations on the perception and purchase intentions of electric cars. Specifically, it empirically analyzes how moral motivations based on personal environmental values and norms in car usage and purchasing influence the perceived usefulness and purchase intentions of electric cars. Furthermore, it investigates whether the influence of moral motivations on perceived usefulness and purchase intentions varies according to the user's driving characteristics. Design/methodology/approach - An online survey was conducted with 234 respondents, by setting criteria for participants as car owners or primary car users within their households, ensuring the sample composition was not biased in terms of the presence or absence of experience with eco-friendly cars. Findings - The research findings indicate that perceived usefulness mediates the effect of consumers' moral motivations on their intention to purchase electric cars. The results of the moderating effect of driving distance on perceived usefulness revealed a significant interaction effect; however, there was no significant interaction effect on purchase intentions. Specifically, for individuals with shorter driving distances, as consumers' moral motivations increase, their perception of the usefulness of electric cars also increases. In contrast, for those with longer driving distances, the increase in perceived usefulness due to moral motivations shows a decreasing trend. Research implications or Originality - This study considered individual driving characteristics that previous research on electric vehicle adoption overlooked, and suggested that setting specific communicating points for electric cars according to driving distance levels might be effective. Lastly, it proposes directions for future research that motivations influencing eco-friendly vehicle purchases may differ based on driving characteristics

This research shows the research findings that the determinant factors of risk perception are the possibility to control the risk, benefits of recognition, the specialty of risk management, and the usefulness of information about the risk. And also the results have shown that the determinant factors of risk attitudes are the possibility to control the risk, the understanding of science and technology, the familiarity with the risk, the usefulness information about the risk, the accuracy of information, and the initiative in the protection of citizens from the risk. As the results have indicated, common determinant factors are the usefulness of information about the risk and the possibility to control the risk. Both of them that affect risk perception and attitudes on electromagnetic waves are important factors in risk communication research. Therefore this study shows that what factors suppose to be considered important in risk communication process about risk of electromagnetic waves.

  • In this study, the value of the medical resort was divided into hedonic value, hospitality value, safety and personal information protection value, and profitability value by exploring and typifying the successful cases and related services of the medical resort in order to provide the direction of development and policy implications of the medical resort for the medical tourism industry. For those who have used the medical resort, I wanted to verify the impact of the value of medical resort on perception of medical resort and its intention to use it. As a result of this study, it was found that hedonic value and hospitality value of medical resort have a strong influence on usefulness perception and well-being perception of medical resort, that safety and personal information protection value of medical resort was only affected by usefulness perception, and profit value of medical resort was only affected by well-being perception. In addition, the usefulness perception and well-being perception of medical resorts were shown to have an impact on the intention of using medical resorts, especially in the case of well-being perception of medical resorts. The above findings are meaningful in that they expanded the medical resort-related research area for the medical tourism industry and provided useful implications for the development of medical resorts that meet the convenience and needs of medical tourists.
