  • The purpose of this study was to find out middle age women's needs of the educare services. Furthermore this study was done to serve as the basic data for guidance and the preparation of effective educare services. For these purposes, the data were collected by using questionnare from to 305 middle age women living in T city. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentile, chi square analysis. The major findings of this research are as follows: 1. Most subjects of present study needs for the daycare center. Furthermore there were significant differences in the daycare management, caring agent, day care cost according to the school career. 2. They wantd nere home daycare center and part time daycare center. And there were no significant differences in general enviroment of daycare center according to the school career. 3. There were significant differences in 1)the standards of selection for teacher 2)teacher's educational level, 3)teacher's age according to the school level. And they wanted 'low school career but caring experiences' daycare teacher.

  • Separation distance between industrial source and residential areas to avoid odor annoyance was investigated using AUSPLUME model. A Gaussian plume model (AUSPLUME) for the dispersion was used to calculate odor emission from ground level area source. Using the dispersion model to calculate ambient odor concentrations, the separation distance between industrial source and residental areas was defined by %HA (percentage of highly annoyed person) and odor percentile concentration (C98). The result was compared with the separation distance of various nation guidelines for livestock buildings. The calculated separation distance for industrial source showed similar pattern comparing with various guidelines for livestock buildings.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the maximum rate of daily users and the turnover rate of parks in Korea. Median calculation, percentile analysis, and regression analysis methods were adopted for the investigation of the maximum rate of daily users. The maximum level, adaptable level and current dispersion of each index were analyzed. The results are summarized as follows. 1) It is location, kinds of facility, and purpose of visiting that mainly affect the concentration pattern of the number of park users. 2) Parks are devided into such three types as common urban park, royal tomb park, and large amusement park. 3) Spring is the peak season in all parks. 4) The maximum daily rates of the three types of parks are 0.92%, 1.86%, 1.18% respectively and the turnover rates are 18%, 54%, 63% respectively. 5) The results of this study show the necessity of the revision of the existing maximum daily rate and turnover rate.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between fathers' child-rearing behavior and the competencies of their children and to suggest ways in which fathers can exert a positive influence on their children. The subjects were the fathers and mothers of 649 six- to seven-year-old children attending schools located in T city. Data was analyzed by frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, correlation analysis and canonical correlation analysis. Results showed that "limit setting" was the most frequently used child rearing behavior by fathers. On the other hand fathers' "reasoning guidance" was correlated with children's personalities and intellectual competencies.

  • This paper suggests an approach for using ALTA 7 PRO to design accelerated life test plans. Conducting a accelerated life test requires finding life distributions at different stress levels and determining an appropriate life-stress relationship. Moreover, a test plan needs to be developed. In its optimal test plan, stress levels are determined and the proportions of test units are assigned at each stress level so that asymptotic variance of the maximum likelihood estimate of a (log) percentile of the life distribution at the design stress is minimized. Examples are presented for usage.

The subject of this study were 375 women living in Seoul, the age of youngest child is at least school age. They were composed of non employed housewives, employed professional housewives and employed non professional housewives. Survery methods were questionare and interview. Data analysis strategy were percentile, frequency, one-way ANOVA, scheffe test and MCA. The major findings were : 1) Perceived time pressure and two sub areas, psychological time pressure and time pressure according to the part of housework were significantly different according to the employment status of housewife. The independent influence of employment status of housewives was most po erful in regression analysis. 2) Housework performance strategy was different according to the employment status of housewife. The strategies were divisions of housework amon family members, use of convenience goods, services, appliance, paid help, adjustment of housework performance standard, reduction of leisure and sleep time.
