The purpose of this study was to develop an explanatory model to predict factors related to continuous participation in the Pap smear screening among Korean women. A hypothetical model was constructed on the basis of Health Belief Model and extensive review of literature on the Pap smear screening. Exogeneous variables included in this model were knowledge, perceived sensitivity, perceived severity, negative and positive emotional responses and professional support from physicians and nurses. Endogeneous variables were threat to cervical cancer, perceived benefit of the Pap smear screening, perceived barrier, and the final outcome variable was continuous participation in the Pap smear screening. The hypothetical model was tested with an empirical study. The data was collected from 623 married women whose age range was 24 - 83 using a self-reported survey questionnaire which was developed by the researcher. It's Cronbach's alpha score ranged from .6478 to .9118. Data was collected at different locations in Seoul; a university hospital, a local health center, and apartment complexes. Data analysis was done using SPSS 7.5 WIN Program for descriptive statistics and LISREL 8.12a WIN Program for covariance structural analysis. In conclusion, threat, perceived benefit, perceived barrier, positive emotion and professional support had a significant direct effect on continuous participation in the Pap smear screening among Korean women. The results of this study also showed that perceived barrier had the most significant direct effect on continuous participation in the Pap smear screening while negative emotional response had the most significant direct effect on perceived barrier. It can be suggested that decreasing perceived barrier by reducing negative emotional responses may be the most effective strategies for increasing continuous participation in the Pap smear screening among married Korean women.
Purpose Financial technology, also known as FinTech, is conceptually defined as a new type of financial service which is combined with information technology and other traditional financial services like payments, investments, financing, insurance, asset management and so on. Most of the studies on FinTech services have been conducted from the viewpoint of technical issues or legal and institutional studies, and few studies are conducted from the health belief perspectives and security behavior approaches. In this regard, this study suggest an extended information protection behavior model. Design/Methodology/Approach The Health Belief Model (HBM), the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), and the Technology Threat Avoidance Theory (TTAT) were employed to identify constructs relevant to information protection behavior of FinTech services. A new extended information protection behavior model in which the influence factors of information protection behavior (i.e., perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, perceived self-efficacy, subjective norms) affect perceived threats and perceived responsiveness positively, leading to information protection behavior of FinTech users eventually. This study developed an extended information protection behavior model to explain the protection behavior intention in FinTech users and collected 272 survey responses from the mobile users who had experiences with such mobile payments and FinTech services. Findings The finding of this study suggests that the influence factors of information protection behavior affect perceived threats and perceived responsiveness positively, and information protection behavior of FinTech users as well.

This study is conducted with the aim of providing basic data for oral health improvement of pregnant woman and development of oral health education program by analyzing factors influencing the oral health related behavior of pregnant woman applying health belief model which is theoretical model of explaining individual's behavior change. For 217 expectant mothers who visited 8 obstetrics and 1 maternity class located in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon from August 1 to 31, 2014, data analysis was implemented using self-administered questionnaire. Before the completion of self-administered questionnaire, the subjects were fully informed of explanatory note and consented on taking part in the research for the consideration of ethical aspect. Collected materials were treated by PASW Statistics ver. 18.0 program and following results were acquired. Health belief factor which infuences oral health related behavior of pregnant woman resulted that perceived severity influences on oral examination during pregnancy and dental treatment during pregnancy, and perceived benefits influences on oral examination during pregnancy, and perceived barriers on toothbrushing after having a snack, toothbrush with rotation method and oral examination during pregnancy, and self-efficacy influences on use of oral hygiene products after toothbrushing and oral examination during pregnancy. With these research results, I suggest that perceived severity of health belief factor, perceived benefits, perceived barrier and self-efficacy influence oral health related behavior of pregnant woman. And specific oral health education program for pregnant woman is necessary to increase perceived severity of pregnant woman, perceived benefits and self-efficacy and to reduce perceived barriers.
Objectives : We investigated the characteristics of perceived stress response and relationship between some variables of gastrointestinal symptoms(esp., dyspepsia) and subscales of perceived stress response inventory(PSRI) in patients with upper gastointestinal disorder when they perceived stress. Methods : 84 patients with upper gastrointestinal disorder(gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer etc.) and 94 normal controls completed the PSRI developed by Korean psychiatrists. The patient group performed the questionnaire including some variables of gastrointestinal symptoms. Results : Internal consistency was statistically significant in all subscales of PSRI. The patient group was significantly higher at total score of PSRI, general somatic symptom subscale score, specific somatic symptom score than control group. As the result of stepwise regression analysis for relationship between some variables of gastrointestinal symptoms ans subscales of PSRI, specific somatic symptom subsclae closely related with illness duration, past illness history and severity of symptom, and the lowered cognitive function & general negative thinking subscale related with the existence of emotional distress. Conclusion : Patients with upper gastrointestinal disorder showed stronger perceived stress response than control group and they experiences somatic symptoms related to autonomic nervous system and/or gastrointestinal symtoms rather than emotional, cognitive, behavioral symtoms when they perceived stress. They also responded to stress as they expeirenced specific somatic symtom when they had long illness duration, past illness history, and high severity of symptom and the existence of emotional distress could develop lowered congnitive function and general negative thinking.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the therapeutic compliance and its related factors in the rural hypertensives. Method : A questionnaire survey and blood pressure measurement were performed to 3,876 residents of a rural area, and 660 hypertensives were selected as subjects of study. The study employed a hypothetical model which was composed of constructs from the health belief model and KAP model. The analysis techniques employed included contingency table analysis and structural equation modeling. Result : The proportion of those who were compliant to the treatment of hypertension was 44.2% of subjects. As the result of structural equation modeling, when patients had more favorable attitude toward treatment, higher perceived benefit, or lower perceived barriers to treatment, the therapeutic compliance was significantly higher(T>2.0). When patients had more knowledge about hypertension, or higher perceived severity of hypertension, the attitude toward the treatment of hypertension was more favorable significantly(T>2.0). And when patients had the support for treatment from family or neighbor, the attitude toward treatment was more favorable(T>2.0). When patients had experience of health education, they had more knowledge, higher perceived susceptibility of complication, perceived severity for hypertension, and perceived benefit of treatment, compare to patients without health education(T>2.0). Conclusion : In consideration of above findings, in order to improve the therapeutic compliance in the rural hypertensives, it would be necessary to change attitude, perception, knowledge about hypertension and its treatment, by various methods such as effective health education and programs for maintaining the supportive environment for hypertension treatment.

As the development of service marketing, research on service failure has gained more and more attention. This research aims to explore factors influencing the service failure severity perception, focus on consumers' internal propensity, ZOT(zone of tolerance) about service and comparison with other consumers in service failure situation. According to study results, it revealed that past experience satisfaction has negative effect on the zone of tolerance about service failure. Company image also has negative effect on the ZOT about service failure. While service importance has negative effect on the ZOT about service failure, it has positive effect on the perceive service failure severity. The ZOT about service failure has negative effect on perceived serviced failure severity. In contrast, social comparison perception level has no effect on perceived service failure severity, and negative affectivity also has no effect on that. In Conclusion, five hypothesis are accepted among seven hypothesis. This study gives important point to researchers and service providers in the service industry. For researchers, the result will be helpful them to further develop service failure and recovery framework. For service providers, the results will suggest specific guidelines for recovering the service failure. They can place emphasis on the serious point, so they can get a effective performance from the recovery strategy.
The purpose of this study was to examine the dual mediating effects of self-compassion and gratitude between perceived stress and insomnia in college students. For this study, 330 undergraduate students from Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do were surveyed about perceived stress, insomnia severity, self compassion, and gratitude. Regression, SPSS Macros, and bootstrapping methods were applied to verify the dual mediation effects. The results of this study were as follows. First, the positive effect of the perceived stress on the insomnia was observed to be significant. Second, self-compassion partially mediated the relationship between perceived stress and insomnia. Third, gratitude partially mediated the relationship between perceived stress and insomnia. Lastly, the perceived stress indirectly influenced insomnia through the dual mediation effect of self-compassion and gratitude. Focusing on these results, we discussed that stress management is important to prevent and alliviate insomnia of undergraduates and that intervention to promote self compassion and gratitude is needed.

This study aims to investigate how health belief of adult female users of the health training center affect health-promoting behavior through self-efficacy and exercise satisfaction. The proposed model is based on health belief model of Rosenstock et al. To validate the proposed model, PLS analysis is performed with the valid 177 questionnaires collected from Seoul and nearby cities. The results are as follows. First, perceived severity has a positive effect on self-efficacy, not on exercise satisfaction. Second, perceived susceptibility does not has a positive effect on both self-efficacy and exercise satisfaction. Third, perceived barriers has a positive effect on self-efficacy, not on exercise satisfaction. Fourth, perceived susceptibility has a positive effect on both self-efficacy and exercise satisfaction. Fifth, self-efficacy has a positive effect on exercise satisfaction and health-promoting behavior. Sixth, exercise satisfaction has a positive effect on health promoting behavior.
Purpose: This research aims to find out clinical information protection behavior within a medical institution in mandatory circumstance based on health psychology theories Methods: This research has developed the survey based on the variables from ealth psychology theories; and conducted the survey during the whole month in April 2013. In the end, 256 samples have been used for this research's analysis. Results: First of all, Empirical results has proved that perceived benefits, self-efficacy, and cues to action have an positive influence on clinical information protection behavior. Perceived barriers has an negative influence. Finally, it has proven from the research that perceived severity and perceived susceptibility do not have an impact on clinical inf ormation protection behavior Conclusion: These findings provide an enriched understanding about medical institution workers information protection behavior on patient's clinical information.
Purpose Since the number of personal information breach incidents increased, many people have perceived the importance of personal information protection, in the recent. Especially, the number of personal information breach targeting middle-aged and elderly people rapidly increases. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the factors which influence to fail of online information security behaviors among the elderly. Design/methodology/approach This study made a research model by adopting the factors deducted from the protection motivation theory. To analyze the research model, we conducted an online survey targeted on the elderly and middle ages users who have nations of Korean and Chinese respectively. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, we identified that only perceived severity and perceived vulnerability affected information security awareness. On contrast, it was also discovered that perceived barriers, self-efficacy, and response efficacy did not affect information security awareness. Additionally, the awareness of information security also did not affect information security behaviors. Middle-aged and elderly people with personal information protection education did more information security behaviors than people those who no education experiences. Korean middle-aged and elderly people with education significantly did more information protection behaviors than the people without the education.
