In hierarchial multiple regression analysis, the subject's intention was related to perceived seriousness, perceived benefit and educational level, significantly(p<0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to develope the education programs which can increase the subject's health belief and intention to practice health behaviors towards hypertension in middle-aged women.
The purpose of this study was to present a conceptual model for predicting housing quality. Housing quality was measured in three ways: perceived quality about physical features of houses, perceived level of the quality in comparison with perceived average level I urban area and housing satisfaction. The specific objectives to achieve the purpose were ; 1) to measure the perceived quality about physical features of houses and perceived level of the quality in comparison with the perceived average level I urban 2) to measure the level of housing satisfaction 3) to clarify the causality between the composite variables of housing quality. A final instrument was developed through two stage pilot surveys. The respondents were 1292 homemakers of middle and high economic class in seoul and Daejeon, selected through stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected during March and April, 1986, and analyzed using SPSS and SAS computer packages. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, F-test, Duncan's Multiple Range, x2, Cramer's V, Multiple linear Regression, Path analysis. The major finding were as follows; the variables significantly related to predict the housing quality were found. The simple, composite variables and 3 measures of housing quality were linked using path analysis, thereby a conceptual model predicting housing quality was suggested.
The purpose of this study was to develop strategies and policies for smoking prevention that are tailored to the characteristics of different groups of smokers. The structured survey was conducted with regular smokers. The results were as follows: It has been demonstrated that Risk Perception Attitude framework can be used as a major research framework to predict behavioral changes related to the prevention of smoking. The smokers were divided into four attitude groups based on perceived risks and self-efficacy: indifference, proactive, avoidance, and responsive. The smoker groups showed significant differences in information seeking, information avoidance, prevention behavior and addiction degree. Especially, the difference in prevention behavior depended on the self-efficacy when the perceived risk level was high. Information avoidance was the lowest when the perceived risk level was high and the self-efficacy was low. Information seeking was lowest when the perceived risk level was low. When the level of self-efficacy was high, if the perceived risk level was high, prevention behavior was actively performed. Therefore, the self-efficacy was related to preventive behavior, and the perceived low-risk played a role in hindering information seeking. Smoking prevention strategies are important to raise awareness of the risk of smoking and to improve the positive willingness of smokers to quit smoking through self-efficacy.

The level of life satisfaction showed significant differences by motivation for leisure, resources for leisure, and perceived adequacy of resources. And the variables which affected the level of life satisfaction independently were family-oriented motivation for leisure, space for leisure, perceived adequacy of burgets and space for leisure.
Objectives: Socioeconomic factors are one of the significant factors explaining drinking problems in our society. From the poverty and inequality perspective, not only absolute poverty but perceived level of poverty or inequality has a direct effect on one's health and health behaviors. The purpose of the study is to explore the growth trajectories of problem drinking in Korea in relation to poverty and perceived income. Methods: Data from 13,414 adults were analyzed using 4 years of data (2010 to 2014) from the Korea Welfare Panel. Main variables included poverty status, perceived income inequality, and problem drinking. A latent growth modeling was employed for the analysis. Results: The non-poverty group had higher initial level of problem drinking; however, the poverty group showed higher rate of increase in problem drinking rate. The perceived income inequality had no significant influence on the initial level, but over time, those with higher level of perceived income inequality showed higher rate of increase in problem drinking. Conclusions: Findings showed that poverty and inequality affect changes in problem drinking. Efforts to prevent and decrease problems related to alcohol should not only focus on changing individuals' behavior but also on decreasing the inequality gap.

Due to the lack of information, medical tourists are regarded to be at high risk. Prior medical tourism research has found that various types of perceived risks have a significant impact on medical tourists' purchase behavior. Even though medical tourism is predicted to increase, there is a lack of behavioral research to explain how perceived risks affect medical tourists' purchase behavior. In the context of Korean medical tourism, this study attempts to evaluate the effects of multi-level (macro, organizational, and personal) factors on medical tourists' perceived risks and purchase intentions. A conceptual model and hypotheses were built and empirically validated to investigate links between multi-level characteristics, perceived risks, and purchasing intentions. The data for this study was collected from Chinese tourists using a questionnaire. The impact of cognitive country image, affective country image, and medical service quality on fundamental risk is confirmed by statistical testing. Surprisingly, expectancy discrepancy risk is influenced only by cognitive country image and information search capabilities. Both fundamental and expectation discrepancy risks lower medical tourists' purchase intentions. The findings of this study show that a multi-level strategy is required to investigate the links between perceived risks and medical tourism purchasing intentions based on macro, organizational, and personal factors.

This study examines whether there are differences in the evaluation of clothing products according to self-efficacy in purchasing clothes. A total of 300 surveys were distributed and 231 were used for analysis. The data were analyzed by regression and factor analysis. The results are as follows. First, there were significant differences in the product attributes considered according to self-efficacy in purchasing clothes. The consumers with high self-efficacy considered diverse product attributes comprehensively when making purchase decisions and had significantly higher score in perceived value and post-purchase satisfaction level than the consumers with low self-efficacy. Second, there were differences in the attributes of clothing products that effects perceived value according to self-efficacy in purchasing clothes. The attributes of 'clothes that I like' and 'necessary clothes' had a significant effect on perceived value for both consumers. The attributes of 'design that suits me' and 'inexpensive price' had significant effect on perceived value on consumers with high self-efficacy while the attributes of 'harmony with other clothes' had a significant effect on perceived value for consumers with low self-efficacy. Third, there were differences in product attributes and the perceived value that influenced post-purchase satisfaction level according to self-efficacy in purchasing clothes. The attributes of 'design that suits me' and perceived value had a direct effect on the post-purchase satisfaction level four consumers with a high self-efficacy. For the consumers with low self- efficacy, the attributes of 'clothes I like', 'necessary clothes', and 'design similar to that of usually purchased products' had a direct effect on post-purchase satisfaction level; however, the effect of perceived value was not found.
For my thesis I have analyzed the differences between the traffic noise level surrounding the schools and the perceived level of noise. 1 have used the ways of measurement and questionnaires to support my study. According to the analysis, the measured noise level was higher than the expected noise level. The equivalent noise level was proven to be higher when the windows of the classrooms were open. The noise level was also higher on the third floor than the first floor. The correlation between the measured noise level and the perceived level of noise was tested in each school. The school which had a higher expected noise level showed a high perceived level of noise. The measured noise level and the perceived level of noise became larger on the higher floors. Through the questionnaires, the traffic noises were proven to be the largest noise-making source surrounding the schools. Most of the students replied on the questionnaires that they have been consistently bothered by the noise. It interfered with their studies and concentration. Also, the sound of their voices became louder because of the noise around their schools. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that the traffic noises that surround the schools give the students negative influences.
Objective: About one-third of college students are exposed to stress to the point that their academic performance is negatively affected. To provide useful information for managing the mental health of young people by analyzing the perceived stress level, depression level, and life satisfaction according to the amount of physical activity and the level of muscular strength in male college students. Design: A cross-sectional study. Methods: Among 304 students who participated in the health exercise class at Sahmyook University in Seoul, the amount of physical activity and the level of muscular strength were divided into 3 quartiles, respectively, and the perceived stress level, depression level, and life satisfaction were analyzed through one-way ANOVA. The physical activity level and muscle strength level of the subjects were ranked, divided into 3 groups, and the difference in variables according to the group was verified. Results: There was no difference in perceived stress level, depression level, and life satisfaction according to the amount of physical activity, but statistically significant differences were shown in perceived stress scale(p=0.008) and life satisfaction(p=0.030) according to muscular strength. Conclusions: Policies to increase physical activity are important to improve and manage the mental health of young people, but it is judged to be more meaningful to provide an environment that can improve muscular strength.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify individual- and regional-level factors associated with perceived good health and multimorbidity among older adults. Methods: Secondary analysis of the 2017 Korea Community Health Survey was conducted on a sample of 67,532 older adults. The individual level data set was combined with regional-level factors from the administrative data released on the Korea National Statistical Office website. Distribution of perceived good health and multimorbidity in 254 public health centers were calculated using sampling weights and presented as percentages. Multilevel logistic regression analyses were used to identify individual- and regional-level factors associated with perceived good health and multimorbidity. Results: Overall, 21.1% of subjects perceived their health to be good, ranging from 9.3% to 39.4% by region. The prevalence of multimorbidity was 15.9%, and varied between 6.6% and 22.6% by region. At the individual level, perceived good health was associated with men, younger age, higher educational levels, higher income levels, and those married and living with a partner and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. At the regional level, higher rates of health center personnel among public officials and higher levels of financial independence were associated with perceived good health. Multimorbidity was associated with marital status and healthy lifestyle, and higher rates of health center personnel among public officials. Conclusion: Regional factors such as health care personnel and local economy could affect population health. Our findings suggest the need to consider individual- and regional-level factors to promote good health among older adults and reduce the health gap by region.
