A Study on the Relationship between Health Equity and Subjective Health Status of Adolescents (청소년의 건강 형평성과 주관적 건강상태와의 관계 연구)

  • The subjective health status of adolescence reflects one's overall socio-emotional function and is an important factor in determining the health-related quality of life during this period. This study was to identify the correlation between subjective health status and health equity of adolescents. Data from the 16th online survey of youth health behavior (2020) was used to analyze 39,987 adolescents. Health equity was used as indicator for residential areas, economic conditions perceived by students, household abundance, family type, and parental education. Subjective health status was classified as a healthy group("very healthy", "healthy") and unhealthy group("normal", "unhealthy", and "very unhealthy") in response to the question "how do you think your health is usually?" The data were analyzed using complex sample analysis by using SPSS/Win 22.0. Significant factors related to the subjective health status of subjects were the area of residence (OR=0.86, p=.031), economic level (OR=1.33-2.09, p<.001), and family type (OR=1.24, p=.033). The economic level perceived by adolescents was the most important variable related to the subjective health status of adolescents, and adolescents from multicultural families often perceived their health as unhealthy compared to adolescents from general families. Therefore, there is a need for continuous interest in adolescents with low economic levels and adolescents from multicultural families and specific strategies to improve their health status.

A Study on Empowerment Related Factors of Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 임파워먼트 관련요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to identify antecedent variables and outcome variables of the empowerment in clinical nurses, and to suggest managerial strategies for increasing their empowerment. Data were collected from October 12 to 18, 2000 through questionnarie taken by 566 nurses in 3 general hospitals. The 5 structured instruments were used for collecting the data : Spreitzer's Items Measuring Empowerment, Bass's Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire-1, Moorman's Equity of rewards scale, Mobley's turnover intention scale, and the Organizational Commitment Scale developed by Mowday, Porter & Steers. The data obtained were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficients, Factor Analysis, Cronbach's alpha Coefficients, Multiple Regression. The results were as follows; 1. Head nurse's transformational leadership showed an positive correlation with empowerment(r=.304, p=.00). Regression coefficient between transformational leadership and empowerment was significant(${\beta}=.326$, p=.00), However, there was no a correlation between equity of rewards and empowerment. 2. The general characteristics of nurses were significant differences with empowerment. As for position, age, working experience, and education background showed significant difference with empowerment(F=10.979, 11.224, 6.812, 5.411, p<.01). 3. Empowerment showed a positive correlation with organizational commitment and a negative correlation with turnover intention (r=.387, -.274, p=.00). Regression coefficient between empowerment and organization commitment was significant(${\beta}=.365$, p=.00). In conclusion, the more head nurse took the transformational leadership, the higher nurses perceived empowerment. The higher their empowerment level, the higher organizational commitment they perceived. On the contrary, the higher their empowerment level, the lower their turnover intention. Therefore, in order to increase nurses' organization commitment and decrease their turnover intention, their empowerment should be increase. And it is necessary to develop the transformational leadership of head nurses so as to increase empowerment.

  • According to the Flow Theory, when the perceived level of Challenges of player and his skill are high, he is able to experience the flow state. What does the skill mean in the Flow Theory? This study suggests that the self-efficacy of the actor should be concerned to understand the perceived level of actor's skill in relation to the level of Challenges and his personal characteristics. This study hypothesizes the equity-distribution of extrinsic reward and the positive reputation influence the player's self-efficacy, and his self-efficacy affect the flow experience. This hypothesis is confirmed by the structure equation model test. This result can serve to understand skill related on the flow theory, and what factors players to get flow experience are given by.

  • The recent development of industrial marketing explains the near absence of research on brand equity in business-to-business markets. With recent change, industrial companies have shifted from a production focus to a customer focus. Industrial brand concept is rapidly developing. The basic purpose of this study is to investigate industrial brand equity affecting the result of business relationship between industrial buyers and suppliers. This research presented a comprehensive constructive model consisting of components of industrial brand equity, and then propose the research model base on prior researches and studies about relationships among components of industrial brand equity. Data were gathered from respondents who work in industrial buying center. For this study, Data were analyzed by SPSS 11.0 and AMOS 5.0. The results of this research analysis were as fallow. Industrial brand loyalty was positively related with perceived value, perceived quality, brand awareness, relationship satisfaction, switching cost, relationship commitment. Also, Industrial corporate performance and purchasing value was positively related with brand loyalty and relationship commitment.

  • The paper aims to investigate the factors of brand equity affecting the purchase intention of car buyers in Ho Chi Minh City. The authors use qualitative method and quantitative research to study the matters, specifically using scales and data collected for Cronbach alpha reliability testing, analysizing the discovery factor of EFA, CFA and verifying the regression models through AMOS software with SEM linear modeling. The study proposes four factors: (1) brand awareness, (2) self-expression value, (3) perceived quality, (4) brand psychology impacting on the brand loyalty and intention to buy cars of customers. The results show that all four factors are statistically significant for positive brand loyalty and purchase willing. The results showed that brand loyalty positively affects consumers' intention to buy cars. Among the factors included in the study, the brand psychology is a new factor which developed by experts in the context of Vietnam. This is the first study in Vietnam to quantify clearly the element of "crowd psychology" affecting the interests and habits of Vietnamese consumers. This explains why Vietnamese consumers prefer brands that are familiar in the market and some new cars with nice models and colors suitable for Vietnamese psychology.

Effect of Self-congruity with Hallyu Human Brand on Attachment and Brand Equity (한류 휴먼브랜드에 대한 자아일치성이 애착과 브랜드자산에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the impact of Hallyu human brands on consumer behavior, given the increasing influence of Hallyu human brands due to their global spread and the limited academic discussions surrounding this topic. The research examines the role of self-congruity, human brand attachment, and brand equity factors. An online survey was conducted, targeting Chinese consumers who are highly engaged with the Korean Wave. Data from 403 respondents were analyzed. The results reveal that both ideal and actual self-congruity with the Hallyu human brand significantly affected attachment to the brand, while social self-congruity was found to be insignificant. Furthermore, attachment to Hallyu human brands positively influenced brand recognition, perceived quality, brand image, and brand loyalty.

A Study on the Relationship between Marketing Activities and Brand Equity in Nonprofit Organizations : Focused on the Donation Market of Charitable Organizations (비영리조직의 마케팅 활동과 브랜드 자산 간 관계에 관한 연구: 자선모금기관의 기부시장(donation market)을 중심으로)

  • This study explores the relationship between marketing activities and brand equity in nonprofit organizations, specifically investigating the relational linkage between four selected marketing mix elements and brand equity through the mediating role of brand equity dimensions. Employing a structural equation model, the study empirically tests research hypotheses and finds some important implication for brand equity creation strategies for nonprofits. The results show that brand association is the only dimension that is positively related to brand equity, reflecting the current donation market in Korea where nonprofits have such a low presence that donors have little knowledge and chance to identify their brands and to build trust relationships with them. Furthermore, the results highlight the importance and roles of promotion and process marketing efforts, as they are proved to enhance brand association. The study also finds that promotion is positively related to brand awareness and process contributes to perceived quality and brand loyalty. Based on these findings, the study suggest that nonprofits make further efforts on active promotion and process development to create positive, differentiated images and better accessibility, and finally improve their brand equity.

Middle School Students' Perceptions of Science Classroom Learning Environments (중학생의 과학 교실 학습 환경에 대한 인식)

  • This study utilized the What Is Happening In this Class (WIHIC) questionnaire to examine students' perceptions of their science learning environment. Data was collected from 587 middle school students in seven coeducation schools in Seoul. Higher mean scores occurred on the scales of Student cohesiveness, Task orientation, Cooperation and Equity in the WIHIC, whereas lower mean scores occurred on Teacher support, Involvement and Investigation. The effects of gender on students' perceptions of their science learning environment were not statistically significant overall, but girls perceived Student cohesiveness and Cooperation more positively than boys. Correlations between the WIHIC scales of the low-level group that perceived their learning environments negatively (10 percentiles) and the high-level group that perceived their learning environments positively (90 percentiles) were computed. Teacher support, Involvement, Task Orientation and Investigation were highly correlated with each other in the low-level group, whereas only Teacher support and Equity were correlated in the high group. Educational implications were discussed.

  • The emergence of open source software (OSS) with its successful projects and its most prominent advantages creates a vast interest among academics and practitioners. However, it has been found that focusing on the developments of OSS to be successful is not adequate and the adoption of OSS by uses is also very important. Although there are a great number of useful and easy to use OSS has been developed, the adoption of OSS and usage in the market is very low. Based on the technology equity implementation model (EIM), this study examines user resistance in the adoption of OSS (i.e., switching from the current system to OSS). A survey has done regarding the adoption of Linux as the case of study. We have found that user resistance to change has negative effect on adoption intention, and switching benefits, switching costs and perceived value have significant relationships with user resistance to change.

  • According to many researches on brand management, the decision makings on brand marketing should center on the brand identity. Based on the brand management theory, Brand Identity-based OSMU Strategy has been suggested, in which the decision makings for culture content's OSMU should be focused on the brand identity of content to maximize the brand equity. In this study, the effectiveness of suggested brand identity-based OSMU strategy model is empirically studied, together with the effect on the brand equity. The study on the consumer's attitude toward the Harry Potter T-shirt with the associations of 'magic, courage and confrontation against evil' proved that consumers respond more favorably in terms of their recognition of the fit-to-content, preference and perceived quality. With this result, the positive effect of brand identity-based OSMU on consumer attitude is verified. On the other hand, the study on the effect of brand identity bearing T-shirt on brand equity did not support the hypothesis that the brand identity-based OSMU has the positive feedback effect on the brand equity of culture content. Still, while the brand equity is established through the long period of time with consumer's consistent experience on the certain culture content, the effect of brand identity-based OSMU on brand equity has a room for further discussion and research. While the ultimate goal of marketing is to create the power brand with high brand value, the further discussion on the effective culture content OSMU strategy to create a power brand is needed.
