Purpose: This study sought to explore theoretical knowledge of benefits that sport participants perceived. In specific, this study reviewed related literature to explore similarities and differences of perceived benefits between competitive sport and eco-sport. Research design, data, and methodology: This study employed an integrated literature review approach. A conceptual model is suggested by reviewing prior studies. The study collected relevant documents via online search engine including KCI and google scholar. The contents and results of collected data were analyzed and categorized into perceived benefits between competitive sport and eco-sport. Results: For results, summary of perceived benefits was presented. In specific, a total of twelve variables were derived from the literature analysis as physical benefits of sport participation, which include cardiorespiratory fitness and physical self-concept and so forth. Second, a total of six mental benefits were discovered by prior studies, including happiness, stress release, psychological health and so on. Third, in terms of socio-relational benefits, four variables were derived from previous literature, which are social support, trust, and social capital and so on. Conclusions: This study identified positive outcomes of physical activities. Furthermore, a variety of benefits were categorized into three major aspects such as physical, mental, and social benefits. The study needs to be conducted to explore the effects of perceived benefits on repeat participation. Further implications were discussed.
Purpose: This study aims to obtain basic data for conceptual establishment of sports participation and perceived benefits by considering prior research on the effects of sports participation to derive variables for perceived benefits of sports participants. Research design, data, and methodology: This study used an integrated literature review. A conceptual model is designed with reference to a prior study by adopting a guiding theory. Based on the key words. The literature collection was conducted online, and the reference period for the literature collection was for studies published between 2015 and 2020. Results: First, a total of seven related variables were derived from the literature analysis related to sports participation and physical benefits. Second, a total of six variables were derived from the literature analysis related to sports participation and mental benefits. Third, a total of four related variables were derived through a literature analysis related to sports participation and social benefits. Conclusions: Health fitness, objectified body consciousness, and social body shape anxiety, including body composition, approach physical benefits among perceived benefits through sports participation, and physical self-efficacy and physical self-concepts are related to physical benefits but are also shown to be related to mental benefits. And successful aging is seen to be close to social benefits and related to some mental benefits. Mental and social benefits can be seen as the variables derived from the results being related to the benefits, and more in-depth exploration of perceived benefits is needed.
Purpose: This descriptive study was aimed to assess the perceived benefits/barriers of exercise in community-dwelling adults in K city in Korea, and to provide a basic data for developing an exercise program for them as a nursing intervention. Method: The study subjects were 520 adults who lived in the K city. The data were collected from February 2 to March 5, 2002. The perceived benefits/barriers of exercise were measured by the Exercise Benefits/Barriers Scale (EBBS). The EBBS was developed by Sechrist. Walker, & Pender (1987) and revised by Jang & Shin (1999). Results: The adults reported that the exercise benefits were moderately high and the exercise barriers were moderately low. A significant relationship was found between the reported level of exercise and the perceived benefits/barriers of exercise. Age, gender, marital status, education, residence type were significantly correlated with perceived exercise benefits/barriers (p<.05). Conclusion: Community health nurses should plan exercise programs that minimize the perceived barriers to exercise and enhance the perceived benefits of exercise. In addition, those exercise programs should be implemented in the consideration of several demographic characteristics of the clinents.
This study is an empirical study about the effects of perceived risks and perceived benefits on purchase intention in mobile commerce. Perceived risks and perceived benefits are proposed as mediators that make a significant impact on purchase intention in mobile commerce. Also, this study compared the direct effect of perceived risks, perceived benefits and consumer subjective knowledge to purchase intention. As antecedents of perceived risks and perceived benefits, subjective knowledge, mobile Internet familiarity, credibility for the purchase and provided information level are proposed and verified. Results from this study are as follows: First, the effect of perceived risks to purchase intention is not significant whereas that of perceived benefits is significant. Second, this study revealed that mobile Internet familiarity, credibility for the purchase and information level are significantly related to mobile purchase intention through perceived benefit. Third, subjective knowledge makes a significant impact on purchase intention directly not mediated by perceived risk or perceived benefit. Based on these results, managerial implications for mobile commerce vitalization and marketing strategy are discussed. Finally, limitation for this research and further research issues are suggested.
Purpose Many students have concerned about the quality and operation of online courses with universities offering online courses to avoid the spread of COVID-19. To deepen our understanding of university online class systems, this research aims to assess students' satisfaction with online class systems and continuous usage intention on the basis of the perceived benefits and expectation confirmation theory. Design/methodology/approach This paper empirically analyzes the impact of each perceived benefit on user satisfaction and the intention to use it continuously by dividing the perceived benefits considered in existing literature into utilitarian benefits (convenience), emotional benefits (pleasure), and symbolic benefits (personal benefits). Moreover, the perceived expectations and performance have also been assessed with its impact on satisfaction and the intention to continue use. Data collected from 241 university students were empirically tested against a research model. Findings Analysis results showed that perceived advantages (comfort, enjoyment and personalized benefit) significantly affect user satisfaction and that perceived benefits have positive effects on the intention to continue use whereas the expected confirmation do not significantly influence on the intention to continue use.
This research aims to shed a light on the benefits and perceived risks to the willingness to use perceived by consumers, centering on design-customizing service catering to individuals' tastes and needs, and to study their impacts on the use of a design-customizing service. The validation of how benefits and perceived risks affect the intention to use showed that only aesthetic and self-expressive benefits had significant impacts on the willingness to use. However, only time/economic loss and self-design risks had negative impacts on the willingness to use a service. By gender, there was no difference in benefits and perceived risks to willingness to use for the benefit factors, whereas in terms of perceived risks to willingness to use factors. By age, there were also differences in the effects of benefits and perceived risks to purchase on the willingness to use a rash guard customizing service. There were variations in the perceived risks to the willingness to use and benefits depending on age. In particular, it was found that there were no perceived risks to the willingness to use for the age group of 10s. As design-customizing services based on individual tastes have drawn more attention recently, this research on the benefits and perceived risks to purchasing a rash guard design customizing service, as well as their effects on service use (particularly backed up by comparative analysis by gender and age), is expected to provide insights into design-customizing service strategy development.

The MZ Generation likes watching YouTube videos produced by senior influencers despite the big age gap. In addition, the final goal of collaborative YouTube videos between senior influencers and brands is to increase sales. Accordingly, this study examined this interesting phenomenon and aimed to provide useful insights for creating YouTube videos targeting the MZ generation. This study was divided into two parts. Study 1 explored the viewers' perceived benefits by looking at the YouTube video comments of a senior fashion influencer, and then classified the perceived benefits into informational, psychological, and hedonic benefits. Study 2 analyzed the relationships among the viewers' perceived benefits (informational, psychological, hedonic benefits), attitude toward a brand, and behavior intention. Study 2 found that only informational benefits, among the three perceived benefits, enhanced attitudes toward a brand, thereby affecting behavior intention. Based on the results of two sub-studies, this study highlights the importance of informational benefits to maximize the marketing effects employing the collaborative YouTube videos of senior influencers and brands.

This study aimed to explore the effects of perceived benefits on consumers' attitudes towards cross-border online shopping websites. We also explore whether and how consumers' COVID-19 anxiety and brand familiarity weaken or strengthen the relationship between these perceived benefits and consumer attitudes. A total 319 items of data were used for the final analysis. The perceived benefits of a website were found to have only an indirect effect on purchase intentions by mediating consumers' attitudes toward the site. Competitive pricing of fashion products directly affected purchase intentions. COVID-19 anxiety was found to have a negative moderating influence on the relationship between perceived enjoyment and consumer attitudes, whereas brand familiarity had a positive moderating effect on both the relationships between perceived usefulness and consumers' attitudes toward the site and between perceived ease of use and their site attitude. This study provides useful insights for international e-tailers in developing marketing strategies that attract international consumers. Academically, we have contributed to the existing literature on the perceived benefits of global online shopping and the moderators of consumers' attitudes towards e-commerce sites.
This study investigated the relations of adolescents' attitudes toward risk behaviors, perceived benefits and costs, and their risk behaviors. The subjects were 955 high school freshmen in the Daegu$\cdot$Kyungpook area. The major findings were as follows. (1) Adolescents' attitudes toward risk behaviors were positively associated with the perceived benefits of adolescent risk behaviors, but these were negatively associated with the perceived costs of adolescent risk behaviors. (2) Compared to boys, girls had more positive attitudes toward adolescent drinking. In addition, girls perceived more benefits but less costs of adolescent risk behaviors than did boys. (3) There were no gender differences in the relationships between dependent variables and adolescent risk behaviors.
As the competition intensifies and the market matures, marketers are more and more concerned with the relationship marketing. Many of the previous researches have pointed out that not all of the consumers are relationship-oriented. But none of the previous research has systematically investigated this issue. This research investigated the relationship among the three concepts: consumers' intrinsic characteristics, perceived importance of relational benefits, and relationship building intention with the salesperson. In this research the perceived importance of relational benefits is treated as mediating variable in the relationship between consumers' intrinsic characteristics and relationship building intention with the salesperson. The conceptual model in this study can be depicted as follows. From the consumers' perspective relational benefits can be defined as "the additional benefits consumers can receive in addition to core services through the long-term relationship with the service provider." And in this study two kinds of relational benefits are adopted by reviewing the previous research: confidence benefits and social benefits. Relational benefit received from the salesperson is very important to predict consumers' relationship building intention with the salesperson. The more relational benefits consumer wants from the salesperson, the more relationship building intention he/she has. From this point two hypotheses are derived as follows. Hypothesis 1: As the perceived importance of confidence benefit from the salesperson increases, the relationship building intention with the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 2: As the perceived importance of social benefit from the salesperson increases, the relationship building intention with the salesperson increases. In this study four individual characteristics(risk taking tendency, variety-seeking tendency, product knowledge, trust orientation) are hypothesized to influence the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson. And three individual characteristics(interpersonal orientation, price consciousness, trust orientation) are hypothesized to influence the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson. These 7 hypotheses are as follows. Hypothesis 3: As the risk taking tendency increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 4: As the variety-seeking tendency increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 5: As the product knowledge increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 6: As the trust orientation increases, the perceived importance of confidence benefits from the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 7: As the interpersonal orientation increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson increases. Hypothesis 8: As the price consciousness increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson decreases. Hypothesis 9: As the trust orientation increases, the perceived importance of social benefits from the salesperson increases. The whole model in this study can be depicted as follows: Data were collected from the 396 consumers who actually trade stocks through the salesperson and were analyzed using structural equation model. The analysis results show that consumers' perceived importance of relational benefits(confidence benefit and social benefit) play the roles of mediating variables in the causal relationship between consumers' inherent characteristics and their relationship building intention with the salesperson. As for the individual characteristics, the influences of variety-seeking tendency, trust orientation, and price consciousness are statistically significant. It was found that variety-seeking tendency has a significant negative effect on the perceived importance of confidence benefit, and that trust orientation has a significant positive effect on the perceived importance of both of confidence and social benefit. Finally it was also found that, on the contrary to the influence direction suggested in the hypothesis, price consciousness has a significant positive effect on the perceived importance of social benefit.
