As the current trend in the rail transit development emphasizes its role as a medium through which the interaction between the city environment and people takes place, the factors of harmony, color, characteristics, identity, and communication should be considered in the railway design. It's important to ensure that there exist harmony between the design and the civic environment, the influence of color on people is properly considered, the car design possesses distinct characteristics, and that the sense of common identity as well as effective communication is fostered between the system and people it serves. • Social Networking Sites (SNS) provide people with unique online social interaction environments where users can disclose their thoughts, feelings, and opinions to their personal contacts. Although previous studies have suggested that such activities produce positive effects on SNS user well-being, this study considered potential negative effects by investigating the relationship between SNS use and depression. In particular, This stydy examined how specific activities are related to different types of social comparison (upward/downward/horizontal) and how these different types of social comparison influence depressed moods among college students. The analysis of a survey of 245 Instagram users found that (1) looking at other people's status updates and commenting on other people's photos influences upward social comparison, (2) frequency of Instagram use predicts upward/downward/horizontal social comparison, and (3) upward social comparison was postively associated with depression, while downward social comparison was negatively associated with depression. Furthermore, the path anlaysis show that social comparison mediates the effect of Instagram use on depression. It suggests that Instagram use does not directly increase depression but it can lead to depression when social comparison on Instagram triggers depression.

  • In this study, we analyzed the process of the housing reflecting the self, based on the qualitative data that people describe their thoughts about their housing in social media 'online-housewarming'. Especially, based on the precedent study that modern self is established on continuous selection behavior, we focused on the selection behavior of the self and the role of the housing that affected it through the narrative. Each narrative component corresponds to the self-establishment process of modern people, identified through precedent study. We can confirm the existing internal criteria changing into new internal criteria through accumulation, interaction and nonverbal communication of selection by housing. Housing has been involved in the selection behavior of self throughout the narrative. From this, it can be seen that the thought of the self and housing are identified in three ways. In 'Online-Housewarming', (1) Housing equates with the self, in the sense that housing is a physical entity in which one's own choices are accumulated (2) People perceive the change of choice caused by the realistic constraints of housing as their interaction with housing. (3) People relate the opinions of others about housing with the opinions about their own self. In contemporary society, house reforming process is a process of mediating the self and the external world based on the selection behavior and affects the establishment of self.

  • The purpose of this study is to discover the interaction between credit growth and operational self-sustainability and to examine factors that affect credit growth and operational self-sustainability of people's credit funds (PCFs). Credit growth and operational self-sustainability are factors affecting the operations and the goals of people's credit funds (PCFs) in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. After regression analysis on a set of panel data from 2013 to 2018 of 24 PCFs, it appears that deposit growth and loan-to-deposit ratio have positive relationships with credit growth, while capital adequacy ratio and operational self-sustainability have negative relationships with credit growth of PCFs; capital adequacy ratio, deposit growth and income have positive relationships with operational self-sustainability, while credit growth and non-performing loan ratio have negative relationships with the operational self-sustainability of PCFs. At the same time, credit growth and operational self-sustainability have a relationship to interact with each other in a contrary trend. The results of this research are accurate according to the characteristics and development history of PCFs in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam from 2013-2018. This study helps researchers and managers to understand the key determinants for better management of PCFs.

  • Voice is the most common means for communication, but some people have difficulties in generating voice due to their congenital or acquired disorders. Individuals with speech disorders might lose their speaking ability due to hearing impairment, encephalopathy or cerebral palsy accompanied by motor skill impairments, or autism caused by mental problems. However, they have needs for communication, so some of them use various types of AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) devices in order to meet their communication needs. In this paper, a mobile application for literate people having speech disorder was designed and implemented by developing accurate and fast sentence-completion functions for efficient user interaction. From a user study and the previous study on Korean text-based communication for adults having difficulty in speech communication, we identified functionality and usability requirements. Specifically, the user interface with scanning features was designed by considering the users' motor skills in using the touch-screen of a mobile device. Finally, we conducted the usability test for the application. The results of the usability test show that the application is easy to learn and efficient to use in communication with people with speech disorders.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the adaptation process of older people to group homes. Methods: Participants were twenty older adults aged 65 or older who were living in group homes. Data were collected from January to April, 2015. In-depth unstructured interviews were conducted with individual participants. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory method. Results: From open coding, 100 concepts, 38 sub-categories, and 14 categories were identified. Analysis showed that the central phenomenon of the adaptation process of older people to group homes was 'gradually giving up'. Causal conditions were 'good-for-nothing body', contextual conditions were 'pushed', 'beleaguered'. Intervening conditions were 'reliable pillar: children', 'having affection (情) more than having it from family: facility workers', 'comfort - like feeling at home', 'relieved: system'. Action/interaction strategies were 'facing the unfamiliar reality', 'building relationships with other people', 'accepting reality'. Consequences were 'a good place, more than expected', 'hope for the remaining days', 'waiting for a peaceful death'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide an in-depth understanding of the experience of the adaptation process of older people to group homes. The findings from this study can be used as basic data to establish policies to increase the number of small scale facilities which can help older adults adapt easily to the facilities.

  • Recent studies show that social networking within community is becoming more valuable than individualism, and many discussions of importance of social networking are taking place. In architectural term, the ultimate goal of designing public community space is to increase retention of people. Retention of people, in other words, making people "Stay Longer" is not exactly same as "The purpose of Public Community Space", but it is one of the most effective methods to increase retention of people. An attempt of increasing retention of user through offering public community space suggests a significant change in spatial composition of Herman Hertzberger's cultural space as they are becoming a new social interaction trend. This study aims to analyze architectural progress for the implementation of public of Herman Hertzberger's cultural project. Access. The Characteristics of public community space used in cultural space were extracted and organized into the systemized elements. The systemized elements are comfort, connect, continuity, sphere, transition, and abide. Also, the extracted elements were activated Herman Hertzberger's cultural space and processed the his architectural characteristics.
