쉬운 길찾기를 위한 남산 보행안내체계 개선방안 (A Study on Improvement Plan of Guidance System of Namsan Park for Easy Wayfinding)

  • 남산은 서울의 대표적인 관광명소지만 도심에 위치하였음에도 불구하고 접근성이 좋지 않아 이용에 불편을 겪는 문제점들이 많다. 본 연구는 남산 르네상스 사업이 실시되고 있는 현 시점에서 남산으로 쉽게 접근하여 이용을 활성화시킬 수 있는 안내체계 개선방안을 제시하였다. 남산에 가장 근접한 주변 대중교통시설부터 남산공원에 진입하는 곳까지를 대상으로 하여 현재의 안내체계에 대한 문제점을 안내사인체계와 보행동선체계로 나누어 분석하였다. 안내사인체계는 현장조사를 통해 설치현황과 유형을 조사하고 문제점을 도출하였으며, 보행동선체계는 현장조사와 보행이용조사를 통해 남산으로 접근하는 보행동선을 분석하였다. 현황분석을 통한 개선방안으로 안내사인체계는 안내사인기능과 유형의 재분류, 설치계획을 수립하였고, 보행동선체계는 남산으로 접근하는 주요보행동선을 설정하여 개선된 안내체계를 도입해 쉽게 찾아갈 수 있는 길찾기가 가능하도록 하였다. 안내체계의 개선을 통한 남산의 접근성 향상은 많은 이용을 유도함으로써 서울의 대표중심공원으로서 입지가 강화될 것이다.

A New Route Guidance Method Considering Pedestrian Level of Service using Multi-Criteria Decision Making Technique

  • The route finding analysis is an essential geo-related decision support tool in a LBS(Location based Services) and previous researches related to route guidance have been mainly focused on route guidances for vehicles. However, due to the recent spread of personal computing devices such as PDA, PMP and smart phone, route guidance for pedestrians have been increasingly in demand. The pedestrian route guidance is different from vehicle route guidance because pedestrians are affected more surrounding environment than vehicles. Therefore, pedestrian path finding needs considerations of factors affecting walking. This paper aimed to extract factors affecting walking and charting the factors for application factors affecting walking to pedestrian path finding. In this paper, we found various factors about environment of road for pedestrian and extract the factors affecting walking. Factors affecting walking consist of 4 categories traffic, sidewalk, network, safety facility. We calculated weights about each factor using analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Based on weights we calculated scores about each factor's attribute. The weight is maximum score of factor. These scores of factor are used to optimal pedestrian path finding as path finding cost with distance, accessibility.

토지이용유형별 보행량 영향 요인 비교·분석 - 서울시 유동인구 조사자료를 바탕으로 (A comparison analysis of factors to affect pedestrian volumes by land-use type using Seoul Pedestrian Survey data)

  • 본 연구는 서울시 유동인구조사자료를 활용하여 토지이용유형별로 보행량에 영향을 미치는 요인을 비교분석하였다. 우선, 조사지점 주변의 주거, 상업, 공업, 녹지 등의 토지이용을 바탕으로 K-평균 군집분석을 통해 5개의 군집으로 분류하고, 군집별 1일 및 시간대별 평균보행량의 차이를 비교하였다. 이어서, 군집별로 보행량에 영향을 미치는 요인을 3가지 공간적 위계의 설명변수로 구분하여 다중선형회귀분석을 통해 영향 요인을 규명하고 군집별로 차이점을 비교하였다. 분석결과, 보도 너비는 모든 군집에서 보행량의 증가요인으로 분석되었으나, 다른 변수들의 경우 군집별로 설명변수가 상이하고, 공간위계별로 영향력도 다른 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 토지이용유형별 가로관련 정책을 수립하는 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Space syntax 기법을 활용한 Social Path 효과분석 (An Analysis of the Effectiveness of Social Path Using the Space Syntax Technique)

  • 보행자는 일반적인 보행로뿐만 아니라 건물을 통과하거나 넓은 공간을 가로지르는 등의 비정형적인 보행 경로를 통해 다양한 방식으로 이동한다. 본 연구는 이러한 보행 경로를 social path로 정의하여 보행 네트워크의 범주 안에 포함시켜 정의하였다. 기존의 보행 접근성 연구에서는 이러한 보행 경로를 고려하지 못해 대상지의 공간적 위계 수준과 각 가로의 연결성을 올바르게 평가하지 못하였다. 이를 개선하기 위해 본 연구는 대중교통의 요지임과 동시에 상업 시설이 밀집된 서울의 주요 대상지를 선정하여 social path의 효과 분석을 수행하였다. 이를 위해서는 네트워크 공간 분석에서 활용되는 space syntax 기법의 공간 통합도(Integration)를 평가 지표로 설정하였다. 분석 결과, social path로 인해 각 가로의 연결성이 변화됨과 동시에 보행자의 최적 경로가 합리적으로 바뀌는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 대상지 내부의 주요 가로와 social path의 개선효과가 두드러졌다. 이러한 점을 통해 social path의 연결성이 뛰어나고 보행자의 최적 경로를 보다 현실적으로 구현할 수 있다는 점을 증명하였다.

도시 보행네트워크의 보행성 평가를 위한 공간구문론과 Logit 모형의 통합방안 (Integration of Space Syntax Theory and Logit Model for Walkability Evaluation in Urban Pedestrian Networks)

  • 보행과 차량이 공존하는 교통망에서 보행성 확보가 중요한 과제로 부각되고 있다. 차량과 보행의 상대적인 관계에서 보행성을 판단하는 것은 어려운 문제이다. 우선 보행네트워크의 보행성 평가 기준을 정립하는 체계가 구축되어야한다. 보행성은 보행네트워크에서 경험하는 접근성, 이동성, 편리성과 같은 정량지표로 산출된다. 본 연구는 보행성 평가를 위해 공간구문론과 Logit 경로선택모형을 통합을 제안한다. 공간구문론은 링크 통합도를 산정하여 보행가로 설계의 적정성을 판단한다. Logit 모형은 보행수요의 안전성, 이동성, 접근성을 확률적으로 계산한다. 통합모형은 통행자가 경험하는 통합도, 이동편리성, 접근가능성, 안전성과 같은 평가요소를 확률적으로 정량화하여 현실을 적절하게 반영하는 장점을 제공한다. 본 연구는 Logit 모형의 해법으로 Dial 알고리즘을 활용하였다. 이를 위해 보행네트워크의 물리거리와 공간구문론의 시각거리를 일치시키기 위해 네트워크 확장을 통하여 대기시간을 반영하는 방안을 강구하였다. 이에 따라 통합모형에서 도출되는 보행성 평가지표를 검토하고, 모의 네트워크로 모형의 활용성을 측정한다.

주거지 보행환경과 유모차 동반 여성보행자의 외출특성 및 보행심리와의 관계 (A Study of the Characteristics and Psychology of Women with Strollers by a Pedestrian Environment in a Housing Area)

  • A pedestrian environment provides improved walking conditions and facilities for most pedestrians. However, the walking conditions for women with strollers are poor. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the walking environment planning for women with strollers in an urban housing area through analyse of walking characteristics, patterns of going out, and the psychology of them. This study surveyed 208 women who pushed a baby n a stroller in Gyeongsan. The analysis consisted of calculation of the frequencies, the mean, t-test, and ${\chi}^2$ test. The survey results revealed that, first, the women had their own favorite places in the housing area, and usually went out during the afternoon as various aims. When they went out, they felt stress both psychologically and physically, and they thought that they were weak at walking. Second, the safety and the convenience factors of walking environment were important conditions that make the women to go out often. Third, the environment that have not the accessibility, the amenity, and the diversity also restricted the women from going out with the stroller. As a result, they did mot use the stroller and tended to use their cars to go out. However, when the diversity of the environment is added to walking environment, women invreased their social interactions.

Exploring Synergistic Effect in Metro Station Areas: A Case Study of Shanghai, China

  • In the process of exploring sustainable development, major cities in China are expanding metro systems as a strategy to reduce the negative environmental and social consequences of fast-paced motorization. A metro station is not only a transportation node, but also a place where diverse activities can be performed. Therefore, the realization of the spatial potential for human interaction is the essence of the strategy for integrated development in metro station areas. For this paper, 10 well-developed metro stations in Central Shanghai were selected to investigate the correlation between accessibility and spatial performance in station areas. The spatial performance in station areas is significantly affected by metro configuration. However, both vehicle and pedestrian accessibility show weak influence on spatial performance. A synergistic model was then developed to provide quantitative support for transit-oriented development in metro station areas.

Analysis of Multiple Network Accessibilities and Commercial Space Use in Metro Station Areas: An Empirical Case Study of Shanghai, China

  • Against the background of the rapid development of the Shanghai Metro network, this paper attempts to establish an analytical approach to evaluate the impact of multiple transport network accessibilities on commercial space use in metro station areas. Ten well-developed metro station areas in central Shanghai are selected as samples. Commercial space floor area and visitors in these areas are collected. Using ArcGIS and Spatial Design Network Analysis, the Shanghai Metro network and road network are modeled to compute diversified transport accessibilities. Evidence from land use and commercial space floor area within a 0-to-500-meter buffer zone of stations is consistent with location and land-use theory: commercial land use is concentrated closer to stations. Correlation analysis suggests that hourly visitors to the shopping mall are mainly influenced by metro network accessibility, while retail stores and restaurants are affected by both metro and pedestrian accessibility.

3차원 수직·수평 건축공간분석을 위한 ERAM모델의 보행에너지 가중치 산정 연구 (The Method to Calculate the Walking Energy-Weight in ERAM Model to Analyze the 3D Vertical and Horizontal Spaces in a Building)

  • The aim of this study is to propose a method for calculating the weight of walking energy in ERAM model by calculating it for the analysis of vertical and horizontal spaces in a building. Conventional theories on the space analysis in the field of architectural planning predict the pedestrian volume of network spaces in urban street or in two-dimensional plane within a building, however, for vertical and horizontal spaces in a building, estimates of the pedestrian volume by those theories are limited. Because in the spatial syntax and ERAM model have been applied weights such as the spatial depth, adjacent angles, and physical distances available only to the two-dimensional same layer or plane. Therefore, the following basic assumptions and analysis conditions in this study were established for deriving a predictor of pedestrian volume in vertical and horizontal spaces of a building. The basic premise of space analysis is not to address the relationship between the pedestrian volume and the spatial structure itself but to the properties of spatial structure connection that human beings experience. The analysis conditions in three-dimensional spaces are as follows : 1) Measurement units should be standardized on the same scale, and 2) The connection characteristics between spaces should influence the accessibility of human beings. In this regard, a factor of walking energy has the attributes to analyze the connection of vertical and horizontal spaces and satisfies the analysis conditions presented in this study. This study has two implications. First, this study has shown how to quantitatively calculate the walking energy after a factor of walking energy was derived to predict the pedestrian volume in vertical and horizontal spaces. Second, the method of calculating the walking energy can be applied to the weights of the ERAM model, which provided the theoretical basis for future studies to predict the pedestrian volume of vertical and horizontal spaces in a building.

서울시 지하철 역사 출입구의 보행환경 개선방안 (Reorganization on the Subway Entrance System in Seoul for Better Pedestrian Environment)

  • Purpose: Subway in Seoul, Korea is an important urban mass transportation system as it carries more than 4 million people a day. To support this important mission, subway entrances were designed and installed to maximize accessibility to the stations. However, a uniform plan by the national government guided quantity and layout of the subway entrances. Therefore, the plan did not consider unique characteristics of each station area and reorganization of the subway entrance system is required to improve pedestrian environment. Method: This study grouped the subway entrances into specific patterns to propose reorganizing schemes. The authors conducted field surveys, examined case studies and proposed an entrance reorganizing plan for each type. Result: The study recommends subway entrances be installed inside adjacent building when large commercial or office complexes are nearby. The authors proposed installing a bridge connecting the stations and adjacent buildings for elevated entrances. This would be only possible when there are commercial or office facilities nearby with enough floor space. The study summarizes the pros and cons of each solution. To translate our proposals into realities, various incentives should be given to building or land owners. This study made suggestions as to which kinds of incentives exist and be effective in a range of situations.
