One piece of Jeogori and several books of the Goryeo dynasty were found inside of the wooden Buddhist Goddess of Mercy Statue of the Bogwang temple and they were designated as national treasure of Korea, No. 1571. The jeogori was the Jeogsam as the kind of underwear and conjectured as for women by considering its size. The collar of the jeogori was 3cm-wide square-shaped collar without gussit and the sleeve was close to straight line. Also the jeogori was designed without breast ties and could be adjusted by knot button. The fabrics for the jeogori showed similar pattern as complex silk gauze in 1302. It has not been reported yet that the complex silk gauze was used for the Jeogsam from Goryeo Dynasty to Joseon Dynasty. Comparing the Jeogori of the Bogwang temple to those of Goryeo Dynasty, it can be appropriately estimated as the remains of the Goryeo Dynasty since its shape and materials are very similar to those found in the Jeogori's of the Goryeo Dynasty and it was found between the books of the Goryeo Dynasty inside of the knee part of the wooden Buddhist Goddess of Mercy Statue of the Bogwang temple. Although only one piece of Jeogori was found, it's importance in cultural value or in the study of the fabric history cannot be underestimated considering the fact that the Jeogories of the Goryeo Dynasty are scarce, and that the used fabric was not commonly used complex silk gauze, and especially that this Jeogori is the only existing Jeogsam made of complex silk gauze.
Korean oil and honey Yukwa has been paid attention as formal cake for traditional national seasons' holiday and religious service. Quality of Yukwa, however, has been maintained arbitrarily by each Yukwa manufacturer. Since even same Yukwa had severe differences in size, weight, and pattern, it has given the negative effect to the consumer. Yukwa industries need to setup the quantitative quality specifications instead of qualitative ones to maintain the uniformity of Yukwa quality. Efficient and economical inspection and process control system should be developed. In developing quality standards of Yukwa, features which can measure quality quantitatively in real time should be properly chosen. Existing quality features such as acidity, oxidization, hardness, viscosity, and texture were measured by the chemical or physical base destructive methods. Many research and developments have been performed in investigating and analyzing chemical transition states of those quality features as environment or storage condition changes. Most methods, however, require either off-line or complex treatment or time consuming process of analysis in evaluating quality features. Consumer, however, selects products mostly based on the external features such as shape, size, and color. Therefore, critical visual quality features should be chosen and the efficient real time measurement system must be developed. In this paper, computer image acquisition and processing system were developed and software modules were developed to extract the quantitative data of those features in real-time. Computer image processing system will promote in maintaining uniform quality of Yukwa and establishing quality standards of Yukwa.

In order to investigate the characteristics of electromagnetic flowmeter in two -phase flow, an AC electromagnetic flowmeter was designed and manufactured. In various flow conditions, the signals and noises from the flowmeter were obtained and analyzed by comparison with the observed flow patterns with a high speed CCD camera. The experiment with the void simulators in which rod shaped non-conducting material was used was carried out to investigate the effect of the bubble position and the void fraction on the flowmeter. Based on the results from the void simulator, two -phase flow experiments encompassed from bubbly to slug flow regime were conducted. The simple relation $\Delta$$U_{TP}$ = $\Delta$$U_{SP}$ (l-$\alpha$) was verified with measurements of the potential difference and the void fraction. Due to the lack of homogeneity in a rent two -phase flow, the discrepancy between the relation and the present measurement was slightly increased with void fraction and also liquid volumetric flux jf. Whereas there is no difference in the shape of the raw signal between single-phase flow and bubbly flow, the signal amplitude for bubbly flow is higher than that for single -phase flow at the same water flow rate, since the passage area of the water flow is reduced. In the case of slug flow, the phase and the amplitude of the flowmeter output show dramatically the flow characteristics around each slug bubble and the position of a slug bubble itself. Therefore, the electromagnetic flowmeter shows a good possibility of being useful for identifying the flow regimes.ul for identifying the flow regimes.
In medical image processing field, object recognition is usually processed based on region segmentation algorithm. Region segmentation in the computing field is carried out by computerized processing of various input information such as brightness, shape, and pattern analysis. If the information mentioned does not make sense, however, many limitations could occur with region segmentation during computer processing. Therefore, this paper suggests effective region segmentation method based on R2-map information within the magnetic resonance (MR) theory. In this study, the experiment had been conducted using images including the liver region and by setting up feature points of R2-map as seed points for 2D region growing and final boundary correction to enable region segmentation even when the border line was not clear. As a result, an average area difference of 7.5%, which was higher than the accuracy of conventional exist region segmentation algorithm, was obtained.
In the relationship between post-modern feminism and the body. the body of women, which has been taken as 'other' by dominant arguments, has escaped from the fixed idea at post-modern times and the post-modern feminists tried to escape from the taste of the times about body image that was prevalent in the former times.'The taste of the times' here means the fixed physical form of ideal women's body by the educational custom, and it includes the educational prescription which establishes the docile body of women. This kind of educational custom aims at the perfect and permanent restriction on size, shape, desire, attitude and movement as well as on the overall demeanor and each part of the body. And the custom produces 'dependent and trained'. that is, inferiorized women's body. Hence, this paper points out that the feminity as a fixed Physical form should be overcome in order to move forward, and as one part of the effort, it attempts to analyze the designs which deformed and distorted women's body in 1990s. This research indicates that the work, which tries to deviate the fantasized and casted women's mystery, has been closely connected with the expression of 'non-separate bodies' and 'irregular body shapes' in 1990s, which aims at escaping from the fixation of women's body Image. Therefore, it is concluded that the target design trend of this research, which expressed the deformation and perversion of the body, provides the anti-these against the ideal body image of women and the these of feminity. which have been reproduced in various methods and patterns throughout the public and the culture on the whole by expressing the refusal and deviation of the existing women's body image through the post-fixation of the body pattern.
The purpose of this study was to examine how deconstruction, which currently had a great deal of influence on fashion, was actually accepted in view of fashion form or material. In order to track the tendency of deconstructional fashion, an attempt to find out what deconstructional methods were used in fashion design for each formative element was made by looking into earlier studies. Then an analysis was made over the recent fashion magazines. As a result of analyzing four fashion magazines, the most distinctive feature was found to be the use of seethrough cloth. In addition, unsymmetrical form also was immensely used. The next most frequently appeared form was layering, followed by slash or making a hole, lingerie look, padded cloth, indeterminate form, wrinkled cloth and patchworked cloth in the order named. The dominant layering style, the most widely used deconstructional fashion, was that inner cloth could be seen through outer seethrough cloth. The most frequently employed deconstructional cloth was seethrough cloth. Rather than complete seethrough cloth, the shape of lace, net or pattern was employed largely, in which the body could be partially hidden. The most largely used deconstructional method was a slash or making a hole. Most slashes appeared on the front part of the body, to which seethrough stuff was attached in many cases. Based on the above mentional finding. 10 kinds of deconstructional design were proposed for each method.
The silver generation have clothing style of optimal daily life comparing than young generation because they do not participate a specific sport event but daily- life exercise. As the human body ages, the figure of the silver generation shows different body shape because upper body changes to curved figure including the belly and waist part. Therefore, clothing characteristics for the silver generation should be considered with proper function, design and textiles to optimize body movement. This study investigated various exercise types according to motion analysis of the silver generation in order to develop the design of the active T-shirts reflecting the structural properties and providing the optimum exercise circumstance. The results to consider design needs are as followed; As the T-shirts design for the flexible exercise which required frequent movement of upper body such as bending and waist twisting during body stretching, a stretch fabric applied to the waist part considering T-shirts allowance and length to make extreme elongation and support for well-fitting appearance of the T-shirts. As the T-shirts design for the instantaneous reactionary exercise, high elastic four-way stretch fabric is applied to the part of arm hole to optimize skeletal and muscle movement for entire body and arm work. As the T-shirts design for the endurance exercise such as climbing, cycling, and walking, the shoulder line of the back part has cutting line allowance to make optimum movement of the upper body but no change of the waist part.
This research aims to propose an ergonomic design process for hip protector based on previous studies, existing products, multidisciplinary experts opinion, and wearing test. The elderly are more likely to suffer a hip fracture when they fall due to their physical changes in skeletal form, muscle quantity, bone density, and joint movement. A hip protector is an effective product to prevent hip fractures in the elderly but it also has a problem in that it is uncomfortable. Therefore there is a high chance that it won't be able to prevent hip fractures properly. Since the comfort of a hip protector is one of the most critical elements in preventing a hip fracture, we need to keep improving the hip protector for mobility and usability. Based on the previous studies and limitations of current hip protector products, we need to come up with an optimal design for the Korean elderly. First, knowledge has to be built relating to the ergonomic design of the hip protector considering body shape and size analysis using 3D-scan data, and biomechanical analysis on hip fracture. Second, we need to develop a design process including hip protector pattern design, and wearing evaluation with virtual system. Third, we suggest to reevaluate and verify the design procedure from impact evaluation using testing simulator, virtual evaluation of impact, to wearing comfort and usability evaluation. This design process presented in this study would be expected to contribute to the development of ergonomic hip protector which is suitable for the Korean elderly.
In this paper, elastic behavior of woven fabric composites with various fiber yarn structure were predicted through a theoretical calculation model. A representative volume elements (RVE) that can represent the mechanical properties of the woven composites were selected and crimp angle of the weave yarn was defined by several sinusoidal functions. The effective material properties of the woven composite such as young's modulus, shear modulus and poisson's ratio was predicted by classical laminate theory (CLT). The fiber volume fractions were calculated according to the shape and pattern (plain, twill weave) of the fiber yarn, and the elastic behavior of each woven composite was obtained through a theoretical calculation model. Also, to verify the theoretical predictions, woven composite specimens of plain and twill weave were fabricated by vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) process and then mechanical test was conducted. As a results, a good correlation between theoretical and experimental results for the elastic behavior of woven composites could be achieved.
A bacterial disease of tea plants(Camellia sinensis L.) was found in the graftage nursery grown under vinyl house conditions in Suncheon city, Korea, in spring of 2002. The primary symptoms of the disease include small, water-soaked and dark brown spot development on the young leaves. This spot gradually increases in size, especially taking on elongate shape along the midrib or vein of the leaf, and then turns black. The diseased leaves were defoliated easily. Ten strains were isolated from the infected leaf. Inoculation on tea leaf with these isolates produced the same symptoms of naturally infected plants. On the basis of stain reactions, morphological characterization, colony pattern, physiological and biochemical reactions, the bacterium was identified as Pseudomonas syringae pv. theae. This is the first report of brown blight of tea plant in Korea.
