  • The gait training strategy in very important things for central nervous system(CNS) injury patients. There are many method and strategy for regaining of the gait who had CNS injury. A human being has central pattern generator(CPG) is spinal CPG for locomotion. It is a neural network which make the cyclical patterns and rhythmical activities for walking. Sensory input from loading and hip position is essential for CPG stimulation that makes the central neural rhythm and pattern generating structure. From sensory input, the proprioceptive information facilitate proximal muscles that controlled in voluntarily from cortical level and visual and / or acoustical information facilitate distal muscles that controlled voluntarily from subcortical level. Gait training method can classify that is functional level and structural level. Functional level includ level surface gait, going up and down the stair. It is important to facilitate a guide tempo in order to activate the central pattern generators. During the functional test or functional activities, can point out the poor period in gait that have to be facilitate in structural level. There are many access methods with patient position and potentiality. The methods are using of rhythmic initiation, replication and combination of isotonic with standing position. Clinically using it on weight transfer onto the stance leg, loading response, loading response and pre-swing, terminal stance, up and downwards stairs.

  • We are developing a biomimetic robot based on the Sea Lamprey. The robot consists of a cylindrical electronics bay propelled by an undulatory body axis. Shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators generate propagating flexion waves in five undulatory segments of a polyurethane strip. The behavior of the robot is controlled by an electronic nervous system (ENS) composed of networks of discrete-time map-based neurons and synapses that execute on a digital signal processing chip. Motor neuron action potentials gate power transistors that apply current to the SMA actuators. The ENS consists of a set of segmental central pattern generators (CPGs), modulated by layered command and coordinating neuron networks, that integrate input from exteroceptive sensors including a compass, accelerometers, inclinometers and a short baseline sonar array (SBA). The CPGs instantiate the 3-element hemi-segmental network model established from physiological studies. Anterior and posterior propagating pathways between CPGs mediate intersegmental coordination to generate flexion waves for forward and backward swimming. The command network mediates layered exteroceptive reflexes for homing, primary orientation, and impediment compensation. The SBA allows homing on a sonar beacon by indicating deviations in azimuth and inclination. Inclinometers actuate a bending segment between the hull and undulator to allow climb and dive. Accelerometers can distinguish collisions from impediment to allow compensatory reflexes. Modulatory commands mediate speed control and turning. A SBA communications interface is being developed to allow supervised reactive autonomy.

  • This paper considers the optimum replacement times of a steam generator in nuclear power plant with failure data. It is assumed that the failure pattern of units is given as a Weibull distribution and repair and periodic preventive maintenance are performed periodically. The maximum likelihood method is used to estimated the Weibull parameters of failure distribution from failure data. Relpacement, output-decresing and maintenance costs are considered to determine the optimal replacement times by simulation. Numerical examples are included with actual failure data and cost estimators.

  • Over the last decade or so, there has been an increase in activity devoted to the development of renewable resources for generating electric energy. Many of these generators are small and can only be economically connected to the distribution system or to ths subtransmission system. Those which involve storage, a secondary source of energy, can provide a means to achieve more efficient use of existing generating plant. Such systems are known collectively as Dispersed Storage and Generation devices, or DSGs. So, in this paper various operation patterns for Battery Energy Storgy System which is considered as one of DSG, are examined.

  • To evaluate the aerodynamic efficiency of TR-S2 configuration designed by SUDC, wind tunnel tests of $40\%$ scaled model were done in KARI LSWT. The aerodynamic characteristics of plain and Semi-Slotted Flaperon were compared, and vortex generators were installed to improve flow pattern along the wing surface. Effects of the control surface such as elevator, rudder, aileron, and incidence angle of horizontal tail are measured for various testing conditions. Test results showed that Semi-Slotted Flaperon produced more favorable lift, lift/drag, and stall margins and application of vortex generator would be best choice to enhance wing performance. Longitudinal, lateral and directional characteristics of TR-S2 were found to be stable for the pitch and yaw motions.

  • A shorted-turn test was performed at the Sininchon combined cycle power plant on gas turbine generators. The test was conducted using a permanent flux probe and on-line diagnosis system. The flux probe installed in the generator air gap senses the field winding slot leakage flux and produces a voltage proportional to the rate of change of the flux. This pattern of flux variation is a signature unique to each field winding. We have also applied a voltage waveform analysis technique that can identify the pole location, slot number and number of shorted-turn with each slot.

  • We review the current understanding of modularity in biological motor control and its forms, and then relate this modularity to proposed modular control structures for biomimetic robots. We note the features that are different between the robotic and the biological 'designs' with features which have evolved by natural selection, and note those aspects of biology which may be counter-intuitive or unique to the biological controls as we currently understand them. Biological modularity can be divided into kinematic modularity comprised of strokes and cycles: primitives approximating a range of optimization criteria, and execution modularity comprised of kinetic motor primitives: muscle synergies recruited by premotor drives which are most often pulsatile, and which have the biomechanical effect of instantiating a visco-elastic force-field in the limb. The relations of these identified biological elements to kinematic and force-level motor primitives employed in robot control formulations are discussed.

  • Two-level fractional factorial designs are widely used when many factors are considered. When two-level fractional factorial designs are used, some effects are confounded with each other. To break the confounding between effects, we can use fractional factorial designs, called fold-over designs, in which certain signs in the design generators are switched. In this paper, optimal fold-over designs with four-level quantitative and two-level factors are presented for (1) the initial designs without curvature effect and (2) those with curvature effect. Optimal fold-over design tables are provided for 8-run, 16-run, and 32-run experiments.

AMOLED 패널 에이징(Aging) 시스템의 검사 장치는 MES(Manufacturing Execution System), MIS(Management Information System)와 연동하여 운영되며, 네트워크 환경을 구축하는 것이 효율적이다.

  • The geometry of headboxes is of great importance in obtaining good formation, even basis weight profile and fiber orientation. Therefore, many attentions have been made to examine the influence of the geometry of headboxes on the flow behavior. In this study, to evaluate flow behavior in headboxes, three types of turbulence generators were examined using pilot headbox. Velocity profiles in MD and CD were measured using a pressure monitoring system and flow in headboxes was visualized by dye injection method. CD velocity profiles at three different locations inside the slice of Type A headbox showed that the velocity increased downstream to slice exit and had a pattern with four humps due to the persisting wall effect of step diffusors. Results from the evaluation of normalized velocity profile and flow visualization showed that L-shaped Type C headbox caused a large pressure drop but it lacked in flow stabilizing ability.
