  • This study aims to describe, at one aspect, the relativity between syntactic structure and prosodic phrasing, and at the other, to establish a suitable phrasing pattern to produce more natural synthetic speech. To get meaningful results, all the word boundaries in the prosodic database were statistically analyzed, and assigned by the proper boundary type. The resulting 10 types of prosodic boundaries were classified into 3 types according to the strength of the breaks, which are zero, minor, and major break respectively. We have found out that the durational information was a main cue to determine the major prosodic boundary. Using the bigram and trigram of syntactic information, we predicted major and minor classification of boundary types. With brigram model, we obtained the correct major break prediction rates of 4.60%, 38.2%, the insertion error rates of 22.8%, 8.4% on each Test-I and Test-II text database respectively. With trigram mode, we also obtained the correct major break prediction rates of 58.3%, 42.8%, the insertion error rates of 30.8%, 42.8%, the insertion error rates of 30.8%, 11.8% on Test-I and Test-II text database respectively.

  • Objectives This research was proposed to present clinical practice guideline (CPG) for Taeyangin Disease of Sasang Constitutional Medicine (SCM). This CPG was developed by the national-wide experts committee consisting of SCM professors. Methods This guideline was performed that search and collection of literature related SCM such as "Dongeuisusebowon", textbook of SCM, clinical guidebook of SCM and fundamental research to standardize diagnosis of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Journal search related clinical trial or human complementary medicine of SCM was performed domestic and overseas. Finally, 1 article was selected and included in CPG for Taeyangin disease. Results & Conclusions The CPG of Taeyangin disease include classification, definition and standard symptoms of each pattern. Taeyangin disease is classified into exterior-origin lower back (EOLB) disease and interior-origin small intestine (IOSI) disease by region of symptom. EOLB can be replaced with Oegam-yocheok and IOSI can be replaced with Naechok-sojang that is Korean pronuncation. EOLB disease is classified into lower back favorable symptomatology (LBFS) and lower back unfavorable symptomatology (LBUS). Lower back is to say Yocheok, so LBFS can be called Yocheok favorable symptomatology and LBUS can be called Yocheok unfavorable symptomatology. LBUS is to say paraparesis symptomatology or Haeyeok, that is Korean pronunciation, symptomatology. IOSI disease is classified into small intestine favorable symptomatology (SIFS) and small intestine unfavorable symptomatology (SIUS). Small intestine is to say Sojang, so SIFS can be called Sojang favorable symptomatology and SIUS can be called Sojang unfavorable symptomatology. SIUS is to say regurgitation symptomatology or Yeolgeok, that is Korean pronunciation, symptomatology.

  • Developing the modern design of Hanok and providing support for the commercialization model development in recent years propelled by the New Hanok Support Strategies of the central government in conjunction with the New Hanok revitalization related projects reflecting local goverments. New Hanok revitalization, the rekindling and revaluing of human behaviors and interests in local goverments following the social and cultural changes of the past decades, has emeraged as an increasingly traditional area of concerning in New Hanok planning. In this paper we attempt to this discussion by describing recent projects in New Hanok revitalization in Jeollanam-do Province. Therefore, this study aims to examine the classification of compound knowledges based multidimensional relationship by using Self-Organizing Maps (SOM). SOM is an unsupervised learning neural network model for the analysis of high-dimensional input data. By using SOM, we were able to create a cluster map reflecting the characteristics of the New Hanok. In this case the pattern of the preference data was easily understood by visual analysis. Liking for compound knowledge deduced from this data was classified into 8 categories according to the compound knowledge properties of New Hanok. As a result, a systematic approach for analysis the characteristics of individual family and living environment of New Hanoks and 10 space usage patterns the changes in some aspects of New Hanok.

  • This paper suggests a modeling technique for shape and volume prediction of fishes to cut them with identical weights for group meals. The measurement and prediction of frozen fishes for group meals are very difficult because they have a bending deformation occurring at frozen stage and a hollow by eliminating the internals. Besides there exist twinkles problem of surface caused by freeze and variable weights by moisture conditions. Therefore a complex estimation algorithm is necessary to predict the shape and volume prediction of fishes exactly. Hollow prediction, pattern classification and modeling for tails using neural network, integration based volume prediction algorithm are suggested and combined to solve those problems. In order to validate the proposed method, the experiments of 3-dimensional measurement, volume prediction and fish cutting for spanish mackerel, saury, and mackerel are executed. The cutting experiments for real fish are executed.

  • The use of an error-correcting code is essential in communication systems where the channel is noisy. When channel coding parameters are unknown at a receiver side, decoding becomes difficult. To perform decoding without the channel coding information, we should estimate the parameters. In this paper, we introduce a method to reconstruct the generator polynomial of BCH(Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem) codes based on the idea that the generator polynomial is compose of minimal polynomials and BCH code is cyclic code. We present a probability compensation method to improve the reconstruction performance. This is based on the concept that a random data pattern can also be divisible by a minimal polynomial of the generator polynomial. And we confirm the performance improvement through an intensive computer simulation.

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the distribution patterns of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) and formaldehyde in the various indoor environments using cluster analysis. We investigated VOCs and formaldehyde in subway stations, underground shopping areas, medical centers, maternity recuperation centers, public childcare centers, large stores, funeral houses, and indoor parking lots from June,2005 to May,2006. Concentration of TVOCs in maternity recuperations was 2,605.7 ${\mu}g/m^3$ that was higher than the guideline and other facilities. TVOCs in public childcare centers was 1,951.6 ${\mu}g/m^3$ also it exceeded the guideline. Moreover, concentration of TVOCs in every facility exceeded the guideline of Department of Environment, Korea. In case of formaldehyde, mean concentration, 336.5 ${\mu}g/m^3$, in only public childcare centers exceeded the 120 ${\mu}g/m^3$ of the guideline. Finally, by applying cluster analysis, three pattterns of the indoor air pollutions were distinguished. In the results of analysis, concentrations of TVOCs and formaldehyde of cluster 3 were higher than cluster 1 and 2 that were 2,561.4 ${\mu}g/m^3$ and 184.9 ${\mu}g/m^3$, respectively.

  • Reusable software component is an ultimate goal for the software development. Component based development is focused on advanced concepts rather than passive manipulation or class library with source codes. However, the primary component construction in component based development lead to an additional development cost and effort for reconstructing the new software component within a component model. Java application provides several features based on component model. But, we only have an opportunity to develop the smallest reuse units or the restricted set of GUI components. It cannot contributed as a component and only used in the specific domain component with high cost and efforts. In this paper, we apply java component model to the existing java application and extract javabeans through extending the component scalability. We also discuss the algorithm for transformation mechanism from legacy class to javabeans with a partial of business logic.

  • The recent WHO classification has recognized mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma (MTSCC) as a distinct entity of renal cell carcinoma, exhibiting a mixed pattern of tubules and a surrounding spindle cell proliferation within a myxoid stroma, with low-grade nuclear features. A 51-year-old woman had an incidentally discovered renal mass. Radiologic examination revealed a large, well defined mass in the lower pole of the right kidney; a right radical nephrectomy was performed. Imprint cytologic smears from fresh surgical specimens showed cellular, cohesive clusters with thick, broad trabecular arrangements and branching structures. On high power fields, the tumor was composed of round-to-oval low-grade nuclei with vesicular chromatin and small nucleoli. The tumor cells had indistinct borders and pale, eosinophilic cytoplasm, In some areas, round-to-elongated tubular structures and spindle cell patterns were noted. Chronic inflammatory cell infiltration was noted, along with a mucinous back-ground and occasional psammoma bodies. Neither significant cytologic atypia nor mitosis was seen.

  • The aim of this study is to provide fundamental data on the development of dress shirts pattern appropriate for the body types of athletes. The research subjects are 257 athletes from wrestling, bodybuilding, weight lifting, Judo, canoe, rowing. In regards to the category used in the measurement of bust somatotype, there are 48 types directly measured, 4 types indirectly measured, 7 types calculated and 1 bodyweight of type, making it 60 categories in total. The bust somatotype of a sports athlete and general person were compared together and after examining the characteristics of the bust somatotype, the somatotype of sports athlete was divided according to drop. The results of the study are as follows: 1. Questionnaire Results of the questionnaire showed that 63.4% of the respondents chose dress shirt as the most uncomfortable upper garment for athletes. And as for the result of the most uncomfortable body part turned out to be 'the neck is tight'. 2. Somatotype Analysis Results of direct, indirect measurement and the average somatotype of 97 National standard physique were compared. The characteristics of somatotype of athletes with well-developed upper body are that they are taller and have longer upper body and arms than the general person. And also the width of the trunk is wider, the girth bigger and the waist measure relatively slimmer. Looking at sports by category, it we could see that wrestlers were the largest neck parameter and width. Bodybuilders were the largest body parts for most categories. Weight lifting and Judo athletes were the largest waist and buttock. Canoe and rowing athletes were the largest height and arm parts. Dividing the somatotype of athletes according to drop, 72.8% of the research group belonged to the body type that resembled the letter Y.

  • Bacteria have been regarded as one of the most important factors in pulpal and periapical diseases. Streptococci are frequently isolated facultative anaerobes in infected root canals. Recently molecular biological techniques have been rapidly progressed. This study was designed to apply the molecular biological tools to the identification and classification of streptococci in the endodontic microbiology. Streptococci isolated from infected root canals were identified with both Vitek Systems and API 20 STREP. Identification results were somewhat different in several strains of streptococci. Eighteen streptococci and enterococcal was difficult so to digest plasmid DNA using Hind III and EcoRI to differentiate strains by restriction enzyme analysis of plasmid DNA. 16S rDNA of chromosome was amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and then restricition fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) using several restriction enzymes was observed. The molecular mass of 16S rDNA of chromosomal DNA was approximately 1.4kb. There were three to five RFLP patterns using eight restriction enzymes. RFLP patterns digested with CfoI which recognizes four base sequences were identical in all stains. Hind III which recognizes six base sequences could not digest the 16S rDNA. Restriction enzymes which recognize five base sequences were suitable for RFLP pattern analysis. At least three different restriction enzymes were needed to compare each strains. 16S rDNA PCR-RFLP was simple and rapid to differentiate and classify strains and could be used in the epidemiological study of root canal infections.
