The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of patient controlled analgesia(PCA) convergence education on postoperative pain management in spinal surgery patients. Sixty spinal surgery patients were included. For the experimental group(n=30), PCA education using video, booklet, and a PCA model practice was provided before surgery. The data were collected using questionnaire and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2-test$, Fisher's exact test, t-test and repeated measures ANOVA. PCA knowledge-attitude, PCA satisfaction and pain control satisfaction were higher in the experimental group than the control group(p<.001; p=.001; p<.001). Postoperative pain and frequency of additional analgesia use of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(p<.001; p=.001). This findings showed that the convergence PCA education of audiovisual aids with PCA practice training could be effective pain management intervention in patients undergoing spinal surgery. These apply to development of convergence nursing interventions in clinical practice.

The purpose of this study was to identify student's patient education experience, satisfaction with clinical nursing practice and self-efficacy in Maternity nursing practice. As the result, The nursing students had difficulties in accessing the patient, education time, and lack of self-confidence. There was a statistically significant difference in satisfaction of patient education experience with method of education, time of practice, and satisfaction of maternity nursing, satisfaction with clinical nursing practice with attitude of students, satisfaction of clinical practice, practice place, self-efficacy with grades, satisfaction of maternity nursing, practice place. In order to overcome the difficulties and limitations of maternal nursing practice, we maintain close cooperation with the hospital staff and propose it as a strategy of teaching method and practice guidance reflecting the needs of nursing students.

Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the performance following the application of the pilot program for the education nurse system of the Ministry of Health and Welfare in a medical institution. Methods: This study was employed a non-homogeneous comparative group design by comparing new nurses who entered the medical institution after the pilot project from December 2019 to April 2020 with new nurses who entered before the pilot project during the same period. Satisfaction, academic achievement, job adaptation, personal turnover within one year, and patient safety incident rate were investigated as performance indicators. Results: After the pilot project, the overall satisfaction among new nurses, preceptors, and fellow nurses increased, but there were no significant changes in academic achievement and job adaptation in new nurses. The personal turnover rate decreased from 15.6% to 9.1%, and the patient safety incident rate also decreased from 26.3% to 15.7%. Also, the preceptor overtime also decreased from 3.67 to 0.66 hours. Conclusion: The performance of the pilot project for the education nurse system was related to improvements in satisfaction, turnover rate of new nurses, patient safety incident rate, and preceptor overtime. Above all long-term monitoring of each performance indicator is necessary through the continuation of the education nurse system of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This study was designed to analyze the dietetic practitioner's job in the over 600-ed hospitals in korea and to assess their labor time spent and staffing need indices. The actual time spent and expected labor time spent on dietitians' activities were investigated and the proper dietic staffing needs in the hospitals was also calculated. A job analysis questionnaires were developed and mailed to 20 hospitals. Completed questionnaires were received form 12 hospitals for a response rate of 60%. The followings are summary of the results. 1. The jobs dietitians at the hospitals were classified into the following 7 areas, direct patient care, indirect patient care, therapeutic patient care, education & counseling, meeting & research, delay & movement, and administration & food services. 2. The actual time spent on dietetic practice was 48.6 hours and expected labor time spent was 99.2 hours, Therefore, the proper time required to conduct classified jobs was 2.1 times higher than the time spent. Especially, the time required for performing clinical nutrition services including direct patient care, indirect patient care, therapeutic patient care was significantly higher than the time needed. 3. The average times required for the direct patient care was 1334.6min, for the indirect patient care was 796.3min, for the therapeutic patient care was 1634.5min, for the education & counseling was 265.2min, for the meeting & research was 366.7min, for the delay & movement was 327.3min, and for the administration & food services was 1170min. The staffing need indices was 12.3. As a conclusion, the standardized job descriptions for the dietitian to carry out their job at the hospital should be established. And the clinical dietitians as nutrition professionals have to be recruited to provide systematically hospitalized patients with medical nutrition therapy at each hospital.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to survey patient activation for self-management and to identify factors associated with patient activation for self-management among community residents with osteoarthritis in Korea. Methods: Cross-sectional study design was used. Survey data were collected from 270 community residents with osteoarthritis through direct interviews. Studied factors included patient activation, joint pain, physical function, depression, and general characteristics. Data were analyzed using chi-squared test, t-test and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results: The participants' mean score of patient activation was $56.0{\pm}16.61$. The mean score of each factor was $10.6{\pm}5.89$ for joint pain, $5.5{\pm}3.56$ for physical function, and $19.3{\pm}10.01$ for depression. The patient activation level was significantly associated with depression and general characteristics such as education, religion, comorbid hypertension, and use of medical clinics (p<.05). Conclusion: The findings suggest that depression, education, religion, comorbid hypertension, and use of medical clinics may be important factors to be considered when developing programs of patient activation for self-management. This is the first study that measured patient activation, and further studies are suggested to find factors associated with patient activation for self-management among community residents with other chronic diseases.
This study is a structural equation modeling study that describes patient safety incident management activities for nursing students with clinical practice experience and uses Ajzen's theory of planned behavior and safety culture climate-safety behavior model as conceptual bases, proposes a hypothetical model of nursing students' patient safety incident management activities based on the literature review, and verifies the appropriateness of the model and hypotheses through the collected data. Data were collected from 251 nursing students with clinical practice experience using a structured questionnaire. The results of this study confirmed that the model is appropriate and that patient safety management attitude, patient safety culture, and safety motivation are predictors of nursing students' patient safety management activities. Therefore, in order to improve patient safety management activities, it is necessary to provide effective patient safety incident management education programs for nursing students so that nursing students can perform correct patient safety management behaviors from the clinical practice site to the clinical practice site after graduation, and it is necessary to explore how to continuously lead such education programs to the practice site.

This study was done to evaluate patient satisfaction with nursing care. The study subjucts were 164 patients admitted in a general hospital in Incheon province. The instrument used in this study was developed by Risser (1975) and Lim Hae Kyoung (1980) based on classification of nursing care area and modified by Chow Kwang Nam (1995). The relaiability alpha of this tool was 0.93695. The survey method was applied to collect data and the period of data collection was total 30 days from April Ist to April 30th in 1997. The data was analyzed by statistical method of %, mean, t-test and ANOVA through SAS program. 1. The highest scores of satisfaction were shown in the area of reliance, area of treatment, area of environment and area of education in order. 2. The crossed analysis of patient general characteristics and satisfaction of nursing care showed a signficance in the department of patient's admission and the highest satisfaction score was found in the general surgery ward (p<0.05). 3. General characteristics of patients which influence on the satisfaction showed a significant response according to the department of patient's admission in the treatment area, education area and environment area of nursing.(p < 0.05). Recommendation The followings are deriven from the above study results. 1. Area of nursing education which showed the lowest satisfaction should be empathized by making improvement of nursing care approach because the area in the basis to achieve nursing goal. 2. The development of systematic and objective instrument is necessary for evaluation of nursing quality and the evaluation should be performed in the area of patient satisfaction, hospital facility and hospital environment as well.

This study aims to provide basic data for reinforcing the learning competency of paramedic students by analyzing the performance, importance, and demand for the major curriculum of them. The participants of the study was 217 students from the Department of Emergency medical technology from 3 universities in Chungnam, and the survey data collection period was from December 13 to December 24, 2021. As a result of the study, 'Education for Ambulance management', 'Education for maintaining professionalism after graduation', 'Education for In-hospital patient monitoring' are highly required by Borich need, and 'Education for medical oder from a doctor, Education for han dover to In-hospital medical staff', 'Education for non-traumatic emergency patient treatment', 'Education for In-hospital patient monitoring', and 'Education for In-hospital medical assistance' are the top priority areas of the LF model. It is judged that it is necessary to reinforce the curriculum corresponding to in order to strengthen the learning capabilities of paramedic students.
With increasing demands for medical care by society, the medical system, and general citizens and rapid changes in doctor's awareness, the competencies required of doctors are also changing. The goal of this study was to develop a doctor's competency framework from the patient's perspective, and to make it the basis for the development of milestones and entrustable professional activities for each period of medical student education and resident training. To this end, a big data analysis using topic modeling was performed on domestic and international research papers (2011-2020), domestic newspaper articles (2016-2020), and domestic social networking service data (2016-2020) related to doctor's competencies. Delphi surveys were conducted twice with 28 medical education experts. In addition, a survey was conducted on doctor's competencies among 1,000 citizens, 407 nurses, 237 medical students, 361 majors, and 200 specialists. Through the above process, six core competencies, 16 sub-competencies, and 47 competencies were derived as subject-oriented doctor's competencies. The core competencies were: (1) competency related to disease and health as an expert; (2) competency related to patients as a communicator; (3) competency related to colleagues as a collaborator; (4) competency related to society as a health care leader (5) competency related to oneself as a professional, and (6) competency related to academics as a scholar who contributes to the development of medicine.
The purposes of this study were to develop the empowerment education program, to describe the experiences of diabetes patient's empowerment process and to develop a theoretical model of the diabetes patient's empowerment process. Method 1. : The development of the empowerment program for the diabetes patients: The strategies of the empowerment education program were enhancement of problem - solving, decision making, self-efficacy, self-control. participation and mutual support. Method 2. : According to the grounded theory methodology of Strauss and Corbin, the qualitative data was collected with in depth interviews and participants observations until its saturation when the 25 consented subjects were participating and interacting with the other subjects in the empowerment education program. Results: With the analysis of the data, 29 categories were generated. The core category generated, which was a central phenomenon of the empowerment process, was named powerlessness. The intervening conditions facilitating or impeding the empowerment process were discovered as supportive systems through the participation of group meeting, problem solving dialogue, and the knowledge deficit of self-care. The action/interaction strategies were developed as the paricipating, dialoguing, questioning, supporting system, self-controlling, self efficacy, enhancing self-esteem. stress relaxing and instillation of hope.
