This paper proposes position estimation and path-tracking of a wheeled-mobile robot(WMR). Odometry and two distance measuring sensors are used to measure distance between guide wall and body and to locate its own position. And extended Kalman filter is introduced to fusion sensors and reduce noise. State feedback controller using the estimated position and path-tracking miles guidance control system. The computer simulation shows that proposed algorithm is well coincide with theoretical approach.

This paper presents to study the path tracking method of AGV(autonomous guided vehicle) which has a laser guidance system. An existing automatic guided vehicles(AGVs) which were able to drive on wired line only had a automatic guidance system. However, the automatic guidance systems that those used had the high cost of installation and maintenance, and the difficulty of system change according to variation of working environment. To solve such problems, we make the laser guidance system which is consisted of a laser navigation and gyro, encoder. That is robust against noise, and flexible according to working environment through sensor fusion. The laser guidance system can do a perfect autonomous driving. However, the commercialization of perfect autonomous driving system is difficult, because the perfect autonomous driving system must recognize the whole environment of working space. Hence, this paper studied the path tracking of AGV using laser guidance system without wired line. The path tracking method is consisted of virtual path generation method and driving control method. To experiment, we use the fork-type AGV which is made by ourselves, and do a path tracking experiments repeatedly on same experimental environment. In result, we verified that proposed system is efficient and stable for actual fork-type AGV.
There are a variety of trajectory and control algorithms available for robot trajectory tracking. Before using the enhanced trajectory and control algorithms to reduce the tracking error, we introduce the new method which reduces the tracking error by clipping the joint velocity. A lot of robot trajectory tracking methods are proposed to enhance the robot tracking, but irregular tracking errors are always accompanied. Up to now, these irregular tracking errors are gradually but uniformly reduced by introducing more complicated control algorithms. It is intuitively obvious to reduce only the big errors selectively in the irregular ones for the better performance. By heuristic method, big tracking errors in these irregular ones are assumed mostly due to the fast moving of joint with respect to the same tracking and control method. So, in this paper, we introduce a new method which reduce the big tracking errors by clippings the joint velocity with the constraint of given path. Using this method, desired trajectory tracking is obtained within the far reduced error bound. Also, this method is successfully applied to generate the path-constrained error reducing trajectories for 2-axis SCARA type robot.
Conventional path tracking methods designed for two-wheeled differential drive robots are not suitable for omni-directional robots. In this study, we present a controller which can accomplish more accurate path tracking and orientation correction by exploiting the unconstrained movement capability of omni-directional robots. The proposed controller is proven to be stable using a Lyapunov stability criterion. Various experiments in real environments show that performance of path tracking and orientation correction has improved in the proposed controller.

This paper describes the path tracking control for a mobile robot which has two casters at the front and rear to keep balance and two driving wheels on the left and right sides of its body. Power wheeled steering method is adapted to control heading of the robot. It is very difficult to find appropriate feedback gains when linear regulator control scheme is adapted to path tracking con-trol of this type of robot. Therefore in this paper we propose the path tracking control algorithm using the fuzzy logic control scheme for this type of root. Simulation to prove the validity of the proposed two algorithms is performed. The results are reported as last part in this paper.
Purpose: Path planning and tracking algorithms applicable to various agricultural operations, such as tillage, planting, and spraying, are needed to generate steering angles for auto-guidance tractors to track a point ahead on the path. An optimal coverage path algorithm can enable a vehicle to effectively travel across a field by following a sequence of parallel paths with fixed spacing. This study proposes a path generation and tracking algorithm for an auto-guided Korean tractor with a tillage implement that generates a path with C-type turns and follows the generated path in a paddy field. A mathematical model was developed to generate a waypoint path for a tractor in a field. This waypoint path generation model was based on minimum tractor turning radius, waypoint intervals and LBOs (Limit of Boundary Offsets). At each location, the steering angle was calculated by comparing the waypoint angle and heading angle of the tractor. A path following program was developed with Labview-CVI to automatically read the waypoints and generate steering angles for the tractor to proceed to the next waypoint. A feasibility test of the developed program for real-time path tracking was performed with a mobile platform traveling on flat ground. The test results showed that the developed algorithm generated the desired path and steering angles with acceptable accuracy.

In this paper, we propose a method for designing the path tracking controller using an approach angle concept for an underactuated autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The AUV is controlled by the surge speed and yaw rate: there is no side thruster. To solve this underactuated AUV problem in the path tracking, we introduce an approach angle concept which makes the AUV converge to the reference path. And we design the path tracking controller using the proposed approach angle. To design the path tracking controller, we obtain the new vehicle's error dynamics in the body-fixed frame, and then design the path tracking controller based on Lypunov direct method. Finally, some simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, autonomous driving technology is being commercialized in various industries. However, research on autonomous driving so far has focused on platforms with wheel-type platform. Research on a tracked platform is at a relatively inadequate step. Since the tracked platform has a different driving and steering method from the wheel-type platform, the existing research cannot be applied as it is. Therefore, a path-tracking algorithm suitable for a tracked platform is required. In this paper, we studied a path-tracking algorithm for a tracked platform based on a GPS sensor. The existing Pure Pursuit algorithm was applied in consideration of the characteristics of the tracked platform. And to compensate for "Cutting Corner", which is a disadvantage of the existing Pure Pursuit algorithm, an algorithm that changes the LAD according to the curvature of the path was developed. In the existing pure pursuit algorithm that used a tracked platform to drive a path including a right-angle turn, the RMS path error in the straight section was 0.1034 m and the RMS error in the turning section was measured to be 0.2787 m. On the other hand, in the variable LAD algorithm, the RMS path error in the straight section was 0.0987 m, and the RMS path error in the turning section was measured to be 0.1396 m. In the turning section, the RMS path error was reduced by 48.8971%. The validity of the algorithm was verified by measuring the path error by tracking the path using a tracked robot platform.

This paper presents a robotic tower-crane system using encoder and gyroscope sensors as path tracking devices. Tower crane work is often associated with falling accidents and industrial disasters. Such problems often incur a loss of time and money for the contractor. For this reason, many studies have been done on an automatic tower crane. As a part of 5-year 23-million-dollar research project in Korea, we are developing a robotic tower crane which aims to improve the safety level and productivity. We selected a luffing tower crane, which is commonly used in urban construction projects today, as a platform for the robotic tower crane system. This system comprises two modules: the automated path planning module and the path tracking module. The automated path planning system uses the 3D Cartesian coordinates. When the robotic tower crane lifts construction material, the algorithm creates a line, which represents a lifting path, in virtual space. This algorithm seeks and generates the best route to lift construction material while avoiding known obstacles from real construction site. The path tracking system detects the location of a lifted material in terms of the 3D coordinate values using various types of sensors including adopts encoder and gyroscope sensors. We are testing various sensors as a candidate for the path tracking device. This specific study focuses on how to employ encoder and gyroscope sensors in the robotic crane These sensors measure a movement and rotary motion of the robotic tower crane. Finally, the movement of the robotic tower crane is displayed in a virtual space that synthesizes the data from two modules: the automatically planned path and the tracked paths. We are currently field-testing the feasibility of the proposed system using an actual tower crane. In the next step, the robotic tower crane will be applied to actual construction sites with a following analysis of the crane's productivity in order to ascertain its economic efficiency.

In this thesis, we construct the microrobot succor system and navigate the real-time path planning and visual tracking of each robot. The system consists robots, vision system and a host computer. Because the robots are free-ranging mobile robot, it is needed to make and gallow the path. The path is planned and controlled by a host computer, ie. Supervisory control system. In path planning, we suggest a cost function which consists of three terms. One is the smoothness of the path, another is the total distance or time, and the last one is to avoid obstacles. To minimize the cost function, we choose the parametric cubic spline and update the coefficients in real time. We perform the simulation for the path planing and obstacle avoidance and real experiment for visual tracking
