The stress-strain relationship of soil is dependent on a number of factors such as soil type, density, stress level and stress path. Th accurate stress-stain relationship can be predict using a constitutive model incorporated all influencing factors. In this study, an isotropic compression-expansion test and a series of drained conventional triaxial tests with several stress paths were performed on Baekma river sand to investigate parameters characteristics of Lade's single work hardening model depending on the stress path.. Based on test results, the parameters of yield function (h, ${\alpha}$) are not much influenced by stress level and stress path, the these parameters do affect a little bit of stress-strain behavior. The parameters h and ${\alpha}$ are closely related to failure criterion ${\eta}_1$, they can be replaced by failure criterion parament. We also observed that predicted values from the Lade's single hardening constitutive model are well matched with the observed data.

Cell Capacity and cell layout are strongly dependent on the up-link interference caused by out-of-cell mobiles. Accurate prediction of the propagation path loss from out-of-cell mobiles is essential to achieve system designs that minimize the infrastructure required for a given quality of service (QOS). Less accurate predictions can be expected to yield designs requiring the use of a greater number of base stations. In order to quantify the dependence of infrastructure on prediction accuracy, this paper considers the cellular systems, LOS (line of sight) cells along a road or highway.

In recent years, LBS(Location Based Service) is applied in many different fields. Therefore, various location-aware schemes have been studied. In the location awareness system using time dependent algorithm, TOA(Time of Arrival) or TDOA(Time Difference of Arrival) algorithm, distortion of a signal by AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) and multi-path effects cause the degradation of location awareness performance. In this paper, the unexpected noise is eliminated by averaging multiple pulses in order to overcome the degradation of performance. Also, we research the technique for improving the performance of the location awareness by detecting direct-path signal with adjusting threshold.

An minimum path algorithm for integrated networks with departure time constraints require considering arrival time of arriving mode, transfer time. waiting time, and departure time of next mode. Integrated network with diverse modes commonly include departure time constraints. Because public mode suck as train and airplane have fixed service schedule which provide passengers. This study developed the k-path algorithm in integrated network with time varying conditions and departure time constraints. We proposed the extended method based on entire path deletion method, and examined the application of the proposed algorithm through case study.
This study was conducted for the purpose of fin-ding out the variance explaining the medical facilities utilization behavior, which is defined adaptation behavior Process by focal, contextual, residual stimuli in Roy's Adaptation Model. What kinds of characteristics can explain adaptation behavior in Roy's Model? And which is the relative importance of input variables? For this analysis, stepwise multiple regression and path analysis was used. The data come from the 1981 Baseline Household Interview Survey in remote rural area. The findings of the analysis can be summarized as follows: First, Total variance of independant variables for adaptation behavior, that is medical facilities utilization including clinic, drug store, health center, herb medicine was shown 16.2 percent. The most important variable which explain the dependent variable was the occurance of illness with the Ra of value 0.112. The illness symptom, living level, regular care source was shown important variables with relatively high the R²value and significant beta coefficient. Second, in the path analysis of variables which is selected important variables, the occurance of illness was shown variable which has the highest direct effect which 0.297 path coefficient. Also the education level of household was shown variable which has the highest indirect effect through living level and the occurance of illness in causal model. Third, This analysis suggests that the occurance of illness belonging focal stimuli are more influenced than others. To sum up, It is seem to the occurance of illness, illness symptom belonging focal stimuli have high explanation ability through direct effect, education level of household among contextual stimuli have explanation ability through indirect effect.
In order to access digital items in a server via ubiquitous devices, the digital items should be adapted according to the system environment, device characteristics and user preferences. In ubiquitous environment, those device-dependent adaptation requirements are not statically determined and not predictable. Therefore an application specific adaptation mechanism can not be applied to a general digital item adaptation engine. In this paper, we propose an application independent digital item adaptation architecture which has a set of minimal transcoders, transcoding path generator for a required adaptation requirement, and adaptation scheduler. And a CFG based method of finding a sequence of multiple unit transcoders called a transcoding path Is described in detail followed by experimental results.
Copper-based leadframe sheets were oxidized in two kinds of hot alkaline solutions to form brown-oxide or black-oxide layer on the surface. The oxide coated leadframe sheets were molded with epoxy molding compound (EMC). After post mold curing, the oxide-coated EMC-leadframe joints were machined to form sandwiched Brazil-nut (SBN) specimens. The SBN specimens were used to measure the fracture toughness of the EMC/leadframe interfaces under mixed-mode (mode I + mode II) loading conditions. Fracture surfaces were analyzed by various equipment to investigate failure path. The results revealed that the failure paths were strongly dependent on the oxide type. In case of brown oxide, hackle-type failure was observed and failure path lay near the EMC/CuO interface with a little inclining to CuO at all case. On the other hand, in case of black oxide, quite different failure path was observed with respect to the distance from the tip of pre-crack and phase angle. Different failures occurred with oxide type is presumed to be due to the difference in microstructure of the oxides.

Non-proportional loading tests of Nylon 66 at room temperature exhibit path dependent behavior and plasticity-relaxation interactions. The uniaxial formulation of the viscoplasticity theory based on overstress (VBO), which has been used to reproduce the nonlinear strain rate sensitivity, relaxation, significant recovery and cyclic softening behaviors of Nylon 66, is extended to three-dimensions to predict the response in strain-controlled, comer-path tests. VBO consists of a flow law that is easily written for either the stress or the strain as the independent variable. The flow law depends on the overstress, the difference between the stress and the equilibrium stress that is a state variable in VBO. The evolution law of the equilibrium stress in turn contains two additional state variables, the kinematic stress and the isotropic stress. The simulations show that the constitutive model is competent at modeling the deformation behavior of Nylon 66 and other solid polymers.
Direct current (DC) applied to cotyledons during a 16 h inductive dark period inhibited the flowering in the short-day plant, Pharbitis nil Choisy cv. Violet. The inhibitory effect of DC was more profound when the current flowed from roots to cotyledons, showing its polarity-dependent action. The second half on the inductive dark period was more sensitive to DC stimulus. The flowering was significantly depressed only when DC stimuli were applied to the translocation path of the floral stimulus from the induced cotyledon to the apex, suggesting that the transport of floral stimulus was damaged by the DC treatment. The vegetative apex culture bioassay system showed that a significant level of the floral stimulus activity existed in the phloem exudate from the cotyledons which would fail to form their own floral buds. These results strongly support the hypothesis that DC partially impede, at least temporarily, the transmission path of the floral stimulus from florally-induced cotyledon to the apex, rather than depressing in situ synthesis of the floral stimulus.
This paper deals with the formulation and solution of a wide class of structures, in the presence of both geometric and material nonlinearities, as a particular mathematical programming problem. We first present key ideas for the nonholonomic (path dependent) rate formulation for a suitably discretized structural model before we develop its computationally advantageous stepwise holonomic (path independent) counterpart. A feature of the final mathematical programming problem, known as a nonlinear complementarity problem, is that the governing relations exhibit symmetry as a result of the introduction of so-called nonlinear "residuals". One advantage of this form is that it facilitates application of a particular iterative algorithm, in essence a predictor-corrector method, for the solution process. As an illustrative example, we specifically consider the simplest case of plane trusses and detail in particular the general methodology for establishing the static-kinematic relations in a dual format. Extension to other skeletal structures is conceptually transparent. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate applicability of the procedure.
