마음성장 프로그램에 참여한 대학생의 참여동기와 자아효능감, 자아존중감 및 지속적 참여의도와의 관계 (Relationship among Participation Motivation, Self-efficacy, Self-respect & Ceaseless Participation Intention of College Students in Mind Growth Program)

  • 본 연구는 마음성장프로그램에 참여한 대학생의 참여동기, 자아효능감, 자아존중감 및 지속적 참여의도의 인과관계를 규명하기 위해 선행연구 결과를 바탕으로 가설과 연구모형을 설정하고 마음성장 프로그램에 참여한 88명의 자료를 실제분석에 사용하였으며, 경로모형의 적합도와 경로계수의 공변량 분해를 통하여 가설검증을 수행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 마음성장 프로그램에 참여한 대학생의 참여동기가 높을수록 자아효능감과 자아존중감이 높아지고, 자아효능감이 높을수록 자아존중감이 높아지며, 자아존중감을 통한 참여동기와 자아효능감이 높을수록 지속적 참여의도가 높아진다고 결론지을 수 있다. 이런 결론을 통해서 보면 학생들에게 낮은 자아존중감의 원인으로 볼 수 있는 학업중단, 비행, 폭력, 자살 등의 사례가 현실적으로 많이 증가하고 있는 실정을 고려해 볼 때 자아존중감 향상을 위한 인성교육의 대안이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 따라서 대학생의 인성교육의 대안으로 마음성장 프로그램을 제시하고자 한다.

Barriers to participation in a worksite wellness program

  • The purpose of this research was to determine barriers that prevent participation in an employee wellness program, Wellness Wednesdays: "Eat & Meet" About Healthy Living, conducted at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. All ECU ARAMARK employees (n = 481) over the age of 18 were eligible to participate in the wellness program. Weekly 30 minute classes, taught by a Registered Dietitian, on various nutrition- and health-related topics were conducted for 10-weeks. Five question knowledge quizzes were administered to participants at the end of each class to determine the comprehension of material presented. Qualitative interviews (n = 19) were conducted with employees (participants and non-participants) and the program organizer after the completion of the 10-week program to identify barriers to program participation. A total of 50 (10.4% of the total number of potential participants) ECU ARAMARK employees, managers, and leadership team directors attended Wellness Wednesdays at least once during the 10-week program. Employees, on average, scored 71-100% on the weekly knowledge quizzes administered at the end of each class. The most common barriers to participation reported included (most often to least often reported): insufficient incentives, inconvenient locations, time limitations, not interested in topics presented, undefined reasons, schedule, marketing, health beliefs, and not interested in the program. Results showed that employee wellness programs can be effective in increasing knowledge of employees on nutrition- and health-related topics. However, program planning that addresses identified barriers including insufficient incentives, inconvenient locations, and time limitations may facilitate higher participation in future worksite wellness opportunities.

Factors Associated with Attending the National Cancer Screening Program for Liver Cancer in Korea

  • Background and Aims: The National Cancer Screening Program (NCSP) for liver cancer was initiated in 2003 in Korea. The objective of this study was to evaluate the participation rate of the program and to provide preliminary information on its results based on data collected by the NCSP in 2009. Methods: The target population of the NCSP for liver cancer in 2009 was comprised of 373,590 adults aged ${\geq}40$ years at high risk for liver cancer. Participation rates and positivity rates were assessed in this population. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the factors associated with participation in the NCSP for liver cancer. Results: The overall participation rate was 37.9% and 1,126 participants were positive at screening. The highest participation rates were observed in women, those in their 60s, National Health Insurance beneficiaries, and individuals positive for hepatitis B surface antigen. Positivity rates for men, those in their 70s, Medical Aid Program recipients and individuals with liver cirrhosis were the highest in the respective categories of gender, age, health insurance type, and risk factor for liver cancer. Conclusions: The participation rates of the NCSP for liver cancer are still low, despite the fact that the program targets a high-risk group much smaller than the general population. Efforts to facilitate participation and to reduce disparities in liver cancer screening among Korean men and women are needed. These results provide essential data for evidence-based strategies for liver cancer control in Korea.

지리적 근접성이 건강가정지원센터 프로그램 참여에 미치는 영향 분석 (Geographic Proximity and Program Participation at a Local Healthy Family Support Center)

  • This study aimed to find the association between geographic proximity and program participation at a Healthy Family Support Center (HFSC). Drawing demographic and geographic information from the participant list at a local HFSC in Seoul for the period 2009 to 2011, this study calculated the geographic distance from the individual residence to the center for 2,343 participants. We found that single time participants had a longer distance from their residence to the center than multiple time participants. When we compared the proximity by program areas, we found that the geographic distance to the center was shorter among education program participants than among non participants. However, there was no difference in the other areas of programs. In terms of the target group, the distance was shorter among adult program participants. Finally, the average distance among participants in multiple session programs was shorter. The results of this study indicated that the relationship between geographic proximity and program participation depended on program areas, target groups, and the number of sessions.

Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment and Effect of HRD in Logistics Industry

  • Purpose: This exploratory research is to give managerial implication to sales personal management. This study focused on antecedents of job satisfaction and organizational commitment specially in HRD programs and system by participation and effect toward job. Research design, data and methodology: This research focuses on relationship analysis among job satisfaction, organizational commitment and HRD programs of logistics and sales personnel in Korea. HRD program consider two parts one is participation and other is effect toward job. And three HRD program is included education & training, system and self-directed Learning. This study used 7th HCCP data from KRIVET and 748 employee data is analyzed. SPSS18 is used and frequency, reliability, correlation and regression analysis are conducted. Results: Result shows that job satisfaction is positively affected by education & training participation, HRD system participation and HRD system effect toward job. Organizational commitment is positively affected by education & training participation, HRD system participation, education & training effect toward job and HRD system effect toward job. However self-directed Learning participation negatively affect organizational commitment. Lastly job satisfaction partially mediates between HRD and organizational commitment. Conclusions: Based on the results, this paper provide implication to academic, practical HRD and suggest feature research.

Factors contributing to participation in food assistance programs in the elderly population

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The study objectives were to examine the participation rate in food assistance programs and explore the factors that contribute to such participation among the Korean elderly population. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study sample comprised 3,932 respondents aged 65 years or older who were selected from a secondary data set, the fourth Korean Welfare Panel Study (KoWePS). The factors, related to participation in programs were examined based on the predisposing, enabling and need factors of the help-seeking behavior model. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to select the best contributors among the factors related to program participation. RESULTS: The predisposing rate in food assistance programs was 8.5% (7.1% for men and 10.4% for women). When all variables were included in the model, living without spouse, no formal education, low income, having social security benefits and food insecurity in elderly men, and age, low income, having social security benefits and feeling poor in elderly women were significantly related to a higher tendency to program participation. CONCLUSIONS: The predisposing and need factors, such as living without spouse, low education level, food insecurity and feeling poor were important for program participation, as well as enabling factors, such as household income and social security benefits. A comprehensive approach considering these factors to identify the target population for food assistance programs is needed to increase the effectiveness and target population penetration of these programs.

노인대상 자원봉사활동이 대학생들의 노인 및 노인복지에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of the Volunteer Program for the Aged on University Students' Perception toward the Aged and the Aged Welfare)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인대상 자원봉사활동 프로그램이 대학생의 노인 및 노인복지에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것에 있다. 조사대상은 사회복지관련 학과 대학생 72명이다. 이 중 자원봉사 프로그램에 참여한 학생 34명을 실험집단, 참가하지 않은 학생 38명을 통제집단으로 선정하였다. 실험집단은 사회복지사로부터 노인대상 재가복지 서비스 자원봉사활동에 관한 기본적인 교육을 받았으며, 일주일에 한 번씩 4개월 간 대상자 노인의 집을 방문하여 말벗해드리기, 건강 체크 등의 재가복지 서비스를 제공하였다. 설문조사는 두 집단 모두 자원봉사 프로그램 시작 전과 프로그램이 끝난 후 두 차례에 걸쳐 실시되었다. 설문조사 내용에는 노인에 대한 태도를 알아보는 척도와, 노인에 대한 공경심, 노인복지에 대한 지식 및 관심도를 알아보기 위한 4점 리커트 척도가 포함되었다. 사전조사결과 실험집단이 통제집단 보다 노인복지에 대한 관심도가 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 노인에 대한 태도, 노인에 대한 공경심, 노인복지에 대한 지식 측면에서는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 사후조사결과 통제집단은 사전조사결과와 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, 실험집단의 경우 프로그램에 참여한 이후 노인에 대한 태도가 보다 긍정적으로 변화하였으며, 노인에 대한 공경심도 보다 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 노인대상 자원봉사 활동이 학생들의 노인에 대한 의식을 보다 긍정적으로 변화시킬 수 있음을 시사한다.

건강운동 프로그램이 중년여성의 신체조성과 심폐기능 및 체력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Health Exercise Program on the Body Composition, Cardiopulmonary Function, Physical Fitness in Middle-Aged Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the of regular worksite health exercise program participation on related fitness. Subject for study were 34 middle-aged women in Kwangju-city. To achieve this, body composition, cardiopulmonary function, physical fitness of every subjects were measured before and post regular health exercise program participation during 12 week. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Regular health exercise program participation result from improving the body composition, but there is not significant different statistically(p〈.05). 2. Significant differences were observed in the cardiopulmonary function(vital capacity, VO$_2$ max) after regular exercise program during 12 week(p〈.05). 3. Significant differences were observed in the flexibility(sitting trunk flexion), abdominal endurance(sit-ups), power (standing high jump), agility(trunk reaction time) after regular exercise program during 12 week(p〈.05).

농특산물 직거래판매시설에 관한 현장중심의 참여디자인 효과: 참여자의 의식변화를 중심으로 (The Effect of Field-Based Participation Design on Agricultural Direct Sales Facilities: Process Change of Awareness on Participant)

  • 변화하는 사회에 따라 디자인 과정에서도 사용자의 참여를 요구하는 참여디자인이 증가하지만, 실제 디자인개발에서 발생하는 문제 개선이나 참여디자인의 효과를 나타내는 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이에 사용자 현장을 중심으로 한 참여디자인을 통해 참여자의 의식변화 측면에서 효과를 확인하고자, 본 연구에서는 농촌의 농특산물 직거래판매시설을 대상으로 이해관계자 모두가 참여한 참여디자인 프로그램을 통해 참여자 의식변화를 조사하여 현장중심의 참여디자인 효과를 확인하였다. 먼저 문헌고찰 통해 참여디자인의 이해와 연구동향을 살핀 다음 효과분석을 위한 효과 검증모델을 활용하여 설문 문항을 개발하고, 참여디자인 프로그램의 디자인워크숍을 구성하여 이를 현장에 적용하였다. 효과를 분석하기 위한 참여자 의식변화 조사는 프로그램의 사전과 사후에 동기, 지식, 인식, 기능, 참여의 영역에서 디자인전공자를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하고, 개방형 질문에서 추가로 결과를 보완하여 참여디자인의 효과를 파악하였다. 그 결과, 참여디자인 프로그램을 통해 참여자들은 직거래판매시설에 대한 지식과 기능의 영역에서 효과가 있었고, 참여디자인의 결과에 높은 만족감과 공동 작업의 중요성을 느끼는 것으로 나타났으며, 운영과정에서는 농촌의 현장특성에 맞게 프로그램의 충분한 일정계획 마련과 원활한 디자인 작업을 위한 환경조성이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

토요 프로그램에 대한 부산시내 중학생의 만족도 및 참여 독려방안 (A Study on the Satisfaction of Middle School Student for Saturday Program in Busan)

  • This study investigates the actual status of Saturday program operation in Busan and explores the routes for acquiring information about the Saturday program and satisfaction with the program operation with the subjects of middle school students residing in Busan in order to develop efficient operation methods and also find ways to enhance the participation rate of the students. Therefore, with the subjects of 569 first, second, and third graders at 3 middle schools located in Busan, this research investigated the actual status of Saturday program operation in Busan to figure out the participation rate and satisfaction of the Saturday program, efficient operation methods for the Saturday program and ways to encourage participation in the Saturday program. It is needed to install cooperative Saturday program support centers to be operated collaboratively by local autonomous entities and the offices of education afterwards. And it is necessary to figure out which institution should take charge of the Saturday program according to the requests from teachers and students so that the proper institution can secure the budget and manpower and build a system to develop and operate the Saturday program.
