Nursery Room Nurses′ Role Performance for Maternal Role Attainment of Mothers at Early Postpartum Period (산욕초기 어머니 역할획득을 위한 신생아실 간호사 역할수행에 관한 연구)

  • The early postpartum period is crucial toward in recovery from childbirth and attainment of the maternal role. Maternal role attainment is a complex social and cognitive process of stimulus-response accomplished by learning. Helping for maternal role attainment is one of nursing goals in the early postpartum period. Based on King's conceptual framework for nursing, this study was planned as descriptive correlation study to determine the significant differences of the degree of nursery room nurses' role performance according to several variables of personal, interpersonal, and working system of nurses in nursery room. The purpose of this study was to contribute to the planning of nursing care to help maternal role attainment of the early postpartum period of mothers and to the development of relevant nursing theory. The data were collected from Feb. 3 to 28 by questionnaires with 273 nurses in nursery room. The instruments for this study were consisted of four parts : 21 questions for rot performance of nurse. 37 questions for personal system of nurse including 31 questions for role perception of nurse : 65 questions for interpersonal system including 63 questions for job stress of nurses , 18 questions for working system of nurse. The toos to measure role performance and role perception, and job stress of nurse were tested for internal reliability. Cronbach's Alphas were 0.9612, 0.9058, and 0.9649. The data were analysed by using in S.A.S. computerized program and included percentage, t-test, ANOVA Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and Duncan multiple range test. The conclusions obtained from this study are summerized as follows : 1. The mean score of the items of role performance was 2.12(SD=0.55) in Likert's 4 points scale. 2. The degree of role performance was significantly different according to role perception(p=0.0001), age (p=0.006), educational background(p=0.002) , and certificate of midwife (p=0.03) among variables of personal system of subjects. 3. The degree of role performance was significantly different according to job stress (p=0.0001) and numbers of children(p=0.006) among variables of interpersonal system of subjects. 4. The degree of role performance was significantly different according to having opportunities for baby(p=0.03), the degree of flexibility to bring baby to mother's room(p=0.046), the scope of visitor for baby(p=0.016) , the degree of flexibility of visiting for baby (p=0.049) , the degree of participation of nurse in establishing visiting rules(p=0.017), existence and/or nonexistance of rules for breast feeding(p=0.010) , existence and/or nonexistance of education for breast feeding (p=0.009), existence and/or nonexistance of breast feeding room(p=0.013) , concert methods for breast feeding (p=0.003), working place (p=0.0001), and career(p=0.019) among variables of personal system of subjects.

The Types and Processes of Corporate Philanthropy Programs on Forestry in Korea 500 Companies (국내 500대 기업의 산림분야 사회공헌활동 프로그램의 유형과 추진방식)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the types and processes of corporate philanthropy programs on forestry in Korea 500 largest companies. The result shows that 75 companies of Korea 500 companies (15.0%) participated in corporate philanthropy program related to forestry and there are 113 programs that those companies are proceeding. The types of 108 programs can be divided into 5 parts; 1) volunteer work, 2) creating forests & management, 3) one-time planting work, 4) forest education, 5) training experts & job creation. Among them, volunteer work (55.6%) and creating forests & management (29.6%) showed high proportion. The process of programs depends on their types. The volunteer and one-time planting work were mainly proceeded directly by corporate volunteer organization. But creating forests & management, forest education and training experts & job creation were usually proceeded in consort with local governments, NPOs and NGOs, and so on. These results show that Korean corporate philanthropy in forestry is progressing to strategic philanthropy through participation and partnership of various social groups. This shows the possibility to progress corporate community investment (CCI) with forest education and training experts & job creation.

A Meta-analysis of the Effect of Planned Exercise on their Self Efficacy, Depression, Life Satisfaction (노인의 계획된 운동이 자아효능감, 우울, 생활만족도에 미치는 영향의 메타분석)

  • The aim of this study was to survey the effects of planned exercise over the age of 65 in male and female with regard to their self-efficacy, depression, and life satisfaction, based on the literatures of 14 master and doctoral dissertations published between 2004 and 2014. The subjects with program exercise habit were chosen considering the generalization of the physical characteristics of elderly subjects. The exercise duration was 50 minutes for 3 times a week for 12 to 24 weeks. Exercise intensity was an optimal aerobic exercise plan that the subjects themselves could perform. The average effect size of self-efficacy was 0.793 (26.1% increased), depression was -0.91(31.9% decreased), and life satisfaction was 1.506 (43.4% increased). These indicate that post-exercise psychological variables had a positive effect on self-efficacy and life satisfaction by lowering depression after regular exercise. Therefore, it is necessary to increase regular exercise participation and to provide sustainable scientific information for the aged and healthy living of the elderly.

  • The aim of this paper is to describe a long-term trend toward earlier retirement and its reversal since 1985 in the United States, together with changes in socioeconomic conditions and social-policy programs which have contributed to this new development. The American people's recent propensity to retire at relatively younger ages was mainly a result of secular increase in individual wealth that had made it possible for them to enjoy higher standard of living without their participation in labor market activities at older ages. In addition to the introduction of compulsory retirement system, both social security retirement pension program and corporate pension system have also contributed significantly to the declining retirement age and its reversal around the mid-1980s. This paper pays full attention to the set of social policy programs which are currently being used to sustain the recent reversal in ages at retirement. The basic question to be raised here, however, is about whether or not the U. S. government will ave to continue to implement the social policies and programs used to discourage the elderly from retiring at relatively younger ages in the future. In this paper, it is argued that labor productivity growth and improvement in work attitude prior to retirement will help the elderly find little difficulties in having higher standard of living, despite their further lengthening of life expectancy at birth and post-retirement survival chances, the latter being often called the "third life". Most American people hope that the social-policy programs that have promoted early retirement will remain unchanged in the first part of the 21st century while they will put significant financial burden on their future descendants who have to work in the paid labor market. Taking this observation in consideration, this paper concludes that the U. S. government has to focus more on developing the programs that improve work propensity and labor productivity among the currently working-age population rather than continuing to implement the programs that sustain the recent reversal in retirement ages.ment ages.

  • The purpose of this research is to study, through the Delphi method, using an expert panel of 14 persons, effective workforce plans for CCTV applications. The need for professional manpower for activities related to CCTV has emerged through technological development and increased utilization of the CCTV industry sectors. Efficient workforce improvement for the CCTV sector presented in this study are in regards to student education. This study proposes an appropriate description for curriculum and related promotional information. This study should create an environment for overcoming the lack of student involvement and commitment to the environment and ensure training after qualification status after the training provided, including measures to maintain. In order to prevent employee turnover, CCTV training is necessary to actively review government support measures. This study also proposes providing a proper educational environment and supply of replacement staff members brought on by training courses. In terms of education administration bodies, we propose that education and training in CCTV management provide a variety of benefits including participation in education, adequate publicity through cooperation with relevant institutions, and introduces new educational programs. We propose providing adequate training that meets the needs of consumer, as well as education, course selection and expanded curriculum in accordance with operating options and the costs of training. In addition, senior student-selected personnel are needed to address the shortage of operators starting work-experience or training.

  • In this study, a unit of regional tourism as a cluster of innovative strategies that can be an assumption that the activation of tourism clusters building on local festivals and participated to review the empirical aims.   • This study suggests regionally closely-related traditional market support measures that are intended. Market and the community to investigate the relationship between traditional markets and the degree of relationship with the local economy, whether the degree of cooperation with local communities, local people in stores and traditional markets, with a visual image, interacting with local relevance were. Executed questionnaire to merchants and traditional market connection specialists of the tradition market engaged to whole country small town. Small town region's traditional markets have a close relationship with the community. Contribute to regional economic development, and locals have a passion for shopping. Small town to enable local traditional market requires the following way. Through surveys and research policy implications are as follows: First, by constructing a civil partnership with a focus on the needs of local residents need market activation measures. Second, the traditional market members to build social relationships that contribute to their local needs. Third, Installation and utilization of community space in traditional markets is required. Fourth, to increase the participation of young people need to be developed in the program. Fifth, small town regional market collapse and space reorganization is needed.

A preliminary study for the evaluation of the effects of sex education program on college students (대학생의 성교육 효과측정을 위한 기초 연구)

  • This study was performed to provide preliminary data for the development of a useful instrument to measure the effect of sex education. The study was conducted with the voluntary participation of 155 college students enrolled in the course "Sexuality and Relationship" at Y university in Seoul. At the end of that course, they were asked to write freely about the change they had experienced on sexuality. All meaningful statements were elicited and classified into 7 categories; "Change of Knowledge", "Enlightenment", "Change of Attitude on Sexuality", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of. Identity", "Change of Emotion", "Change of Behavior:' There were significant changes in the areas of knowledge(28. 6%), enlightenment(27.4%), and attitudes(20.3%) about sexuality among these 7 categories. The Change of Knowledge category consists of 3 areas: "concretion of knowledge", "increase of information", and "correction of misunderstanding." In the category of Enlightenment, total 12 areas are included: "sex role", "erception of lack of knowledge", "importance of family", "life plan", "parent role", "value of life", "equality", "sexual autonomy", "importance of sexuality", "freedom of sexuality", "perception of sexual problem", and "meaning of love." The Attitude Change category consists of 8 areas. These are "being natural", "being progressive", "being sensitive", "being truthful", "being expressive", "being cautious", "being responsible", and "being confident". The category of Buildup of Ability includes 4 areas: "problem solving", "sex education", "relationship", and "communication". The category of Buildup of Identity includes "sexual identity", and "value of sexuality". The Emotional Change category includes 3 areas: "positive feeling", "negative feeling", and "breaking from negative feeling on sexuality". The Behavior Change category includes "sex-related behavioral change". In conclusion, up to now most researches on sex education effect measures only changes of knowledge, attitude, and behavior. But we believe the changes in "Enlightenment", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of Identity", "Change of Emotion", should be included in addition to knowledge, attitude, and behavior in the development of an instrument to measure the sex education effects. And the effect of sex education should measure the degree of learning of autonomy, enlightenment, and ability of behavior and so on rather than studying the simple changes in sexuality.enment", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of Identity", "Change of Emotion", should be included in addition to knowledge, attitude, and behavior in the development of an instrument to measure the sex education effects. A Gender-Sensitive Analysis on the scale and causes of the blind spots in the employment insurance system (고용보험제도의 실질적 사각지대 규모와 원인에 대한 성별 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the blind spots of Korea's employment insurance system from a gender perspective. The data used for this study was derived from 12th (2009) and 20th (2017) years of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Studies. Logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the causes of the blind spot. As a result, the gender gap decreased by 5% in 2017 compared to that in 2009. In the coverage of employment insurance by gender, women are more likely to join when controlling for other demographic factors. If the conditions in the labor market are the same, then women's insurance coverage is likely to be higher than that of men. The policy suggestions are as follows. The current employment insurance system has a greater impact on the labor market characteristics than the difference in the participation rate according to gender itself. The results of this study show that bridging the gender gap in the labor market is an important way of bridging the gender gap in employment insurance coverage. In the short term, the social insurance subsidy program may be effective, but policy efforts are fundamentally needed to improve the employment environment of women and low-wage workers.
