In this study. use if CSA expansive additive for concrete is discussed, particulary applications to partial compacting the concrete structure of spillway gate located in Youngjong new airport construction field. Before the field applications, several basic laboratory test were carried out in order to clarify the material characteristics and to decide mix proportions. As the result the concrete using CSA expansive additive show similar workability and compressive strength to that of OPC concrete. Forethemore, it can be concluded that the use of CSA component is effective to prevent shrinkage crack and to achive volume stabiliy of concrete structure.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the practical application potential and limitations of the modified fly ash(MFA) by vibration grinding as a partial replacement of ordinary portland cement(OPC). The test parameters investigated were the replacement level of fly ash(FA) and FA for OPC, varying from 10% to 40%, and curing temperatures of 5, 20, and 40℃. The various characteristics(including slump, air content, bleeding, setting time, compressive strength development, and hydration products) of MFA concrete were measured and then compared with those of the concrete with conventional FA. Test resul ts showed that the MFA prefers to FA in reducing the bl eeding of fresh concrete and enhancing the compressive strength gain at an early age. The compressive strength ratios between MFA and FA concrete specimens at an age of 1 day were 135%, 146%, and 111% at the curing temperatures of 5, 20, and 40℃, respectively. The corresponding ratios at an age of 28 days were approximately 110%, regardless of the curing temperatures. The X-ray diffraction analysis also revealed less calcium hydroxide products in MFA pastes than in FA pastes.
Statements of problem: Zirconia core is used for posterior fixed partial dentures because it's good mechanical properties. Stress is concentrated on connectors in fixed partial dentures, so the proper design of connector areas is needed for adequate mechanical long-term properties of any prosthesis. The area of connector is critical, but tooth size and surrounding soft tissue limit the connector design. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare fracture strengths between different connector designs of zirconia core for posterior fixed partial dentures manufactured with CAD/CAM system and determining the optimal connector design satisfying strength and hygiene. Material and method: The following four groups of 40 posterior fixed partial denture specimens(each group 10) were fabricated as followed; group 1 vertical height of connector is 3mm (control group, all groups have the same condition); group 2, lingual vertical 1mm reinforcement on connector; group 3, lingual vertical 2mm reinforcing on connector and group 4, lingual vertical 3mm reinforcing on connector. Specimens were subjected to compressive loading on the central fossa of pontic by instron. SEM was used to identify the initial crack and characterize the fracture mode. Results: The results were as follows: 1. The mean fracture load of the non-lingual reinforcing group was 1212N and the lingual vertical 1mm reinforcing group was 1510N, the lingual vertical 2mm reinforcing group was 1882N, the lingual vertical 3mm reinforcing group was 1980N. 2. The reinforcing groups were statistically significant compared to non-reinforcing groups(P<0.001). 3. There were 2, 3mm reinforcing groups that were statistically significant compared to 1mm reinforcing groups(P<0.001), and the 3mm reinforcing group was not statistically significant compared to 2mm reinforcing groups(P>0.05) 4. Fractures were initiated in gingival embrasures of connectors and processed to the loading site. Conclusion: In this study, lingual reinforcement of connector for improved strength of zirconia based fixed partial denture is nessasary. And long-term study for clinical application is required

The set accelerator used for shotcrete at high pH environment often causes the dusting problem in practice. In this research, a slurry-type set accelerator was developed to avoid this problem and its effectiveness was investigated by applying it to shotcrete mortars. Set time, stiffening, compressive strength, and chloride ion penetration resistance were examined with different amounts of slag, used as partial replacement of cement. According to the experimental results, it was found that the earlier responses such as set time, stiffening, and 1-day compressive strength were probably affected by the amount of ettringite, formulated by the hydration between C12A7 and calcium sulfate polymorphs present in blast furnace slag. Whereas, it is believed that the result of compressive strength after 3 days was attributed to the hydration of tricalcium silicates. As for the results of a chloride ion penetration test, the partial replacement of cement with slag significantly reduced the total charge passed through the shotcrete mortar.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stress distributions in the surrounding tissues of the teeth seated by indirect retainers in three different teeth of unilateral distal extension partial denture when the dislodging forces were applied on denture bases. Three dimensional photoelastic models were made. The teeth on which indirect retainers were seated were mandibular left lateral incisor (Model I), canine (Model II), and first premolar (Model III). The dislodging force with 860mg at $45^{\circ}$ angulation to occlusal plane was applied to each model. Three dimensional photoelastic stress analysis was done, and the records were diagramed and analysed. The results were as follows : The compressive stresses were shown the most on neck portions of buccal, mesial, and distal sides in all three models. Slight tensile stresses were shown on neck portions of lingual sides in all three models. The compressive stresses on buccal side were shown in strength in such order as model I, model II, and model III. The compressive stresses were shown on neck portion of mesial and distal sides of model I and mode II, with model I more than Model II. The compressive stresses were shown only on neck portion of mesial side on Model III. The general overall magnitude of compressive stresses were shown in strength in such order as Model I, Model II, and Model III.

This study investigated to recycle ash produced in the sewage sludge incinerator using reduction/stabilization. Nonsintering process was performed by binding cement, geobond and sand mixed with sewage sludge ash (SSA). Results showed that unconfined compressive strength could be obtained components of sewage sludge ash. it exceeded more than double score of the 22.54 Mpa ($229.7kg/cm^2$) Korean standard. chemical ingradients of the sewage sludge ash was mainly composed of $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, CaO and others, which were similar to those of the each binders consisting cement and geobond. microstructure of solidified speceimen for the different admixture was related to the compressive strength according to SEM analysis. optimum mixing range of the sewage sludge ash to inorganic binder was found to be 10~40% which can widly safely regulate the confined compressive strength. This study revealed the sewage sludge ash can be partial replacement of the inorganic binder for recycling.

Logarithmic electrical resistivity of the untreated or thin diameter carbon fiber composite increased suddenly to the infinity when the fiber fracture occurred by tensile electro-micromechanical test, whereas that of the ED or thick fiber composite increased relatively broadly up to the infinity. Electrical resistance of single-carbon fiber composite increased suddenly due to electrical disconnection by the fiber fracture in tensile electro-micromechanical test, whereas that of SFC increased stepwise due to the occurrence of the partial electrical contact with increasing the buckling or overlapping in compressive test. Electrical resistivity measurement can be very useful technique to evaluate interfacial properties and to monitor curing behavior of single-carbon fiber/epoxy composite under tensile/compressive loading.

Prepacked concrete has recently been used in the special constructions fields such as underwater concrete work, heavy-weight concrete work, underground structure work, partial repair works for damaged reinforced concrete structures. and polymer-modified mortars have been employed as grouting mortars for the prepacked concrete. The purpose of this study is to recommend the optimum mix design of polymer-modified grouting mortars for prepacked concrete. Polymer-modified mortars using SBR and EVA emulsions as admixture of grouting mortars for prepacked concrete are prepared with various mix proportions such as sand-binder ratio, fly ash replacement ratio, polymer-binder ratio. and tested for flowability, viscosity of grouting mortars, bleeding ratio, expansion ratio, flexural and compressive strengths of grouting mortars and compressive and tensile strengths of prepacked concretes. From the test results, it is apparent that polymer-modified mortars can be produced as grouting mortars when proper mix design is chosen. We can design the mix proportions of high strength mortars for prepacked concrete according to the control of mix design factors such as type of polymer, polymer-binder ratio, sand-binder ratio and fly ash replacement ratio. Water-binder ratio of plain mortars for a constant flowability value are in the ranges of 43% to 50%. SBR-modified mortar has a little water-binder ratios compared to those of plain mortar, however, EVA-modified mortar needs a high water-binder ratio due to a high viscosity of polymer dispersion. The expansion and bleeding ratios of grouting mortars are also controlled in the proper value ranges. Polymer-modified grouting mortars have good flexural. compressive and tensile strengths, are not affected with various properties with increasing fly ash replacement to cement and binder-sand ratio. In this study, SBR-modified grouting mortar with a polymer-binder ratio of 10% or less, a fly ash replacement of 10% to cement and a sand-binder ratio of 1.5 is recommended as a grouting mortar for prepacked concrete.

This study is a pioneer investigation to enhance the insulation capacity of the conventional aerated concrete using hydrophobic aerogels. As the main test parameters, aerogel content varied from 0% to 40% of the foam volume. Test results showed that the compressive strength of aerated concrete containing aerogels was lower by 17%~34% than that of the conventional aerated concrete. In addition, the effect of the aerogels on reducing thermal conductivity of aerated concrete is insignificant because of the partial condensation and abnormal distribution of the hydrophobic aerogels. Hence, further hydrophilic treatment for the surface of aerogels is recommended to minimize the decrease in compressive strength and enhance the insulation capacity of aerated concrete.

As number of the buildings increases, it shows new trends such as twisted, tilted, taperer shape. As a structural solution for the new trend buildings, diagonal grid (Diagrid) structure was developed. Though a few buildings was built using diagird system, the structural performance of the corresponding node was not clearly identified. Therefore, experimental evaluation is needed to apply diagrid for higher buildings. In this study, the node was tested depending on the amounts of welding materials. As a result, the partial welding can provide enough strength for the node as required in the full penetration welding under monotonin compressive loadings.
