PARKING GUIDE AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH RFID AND WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK

  • In apartment type of housing, if resident's vehicle is registered in central control office and RFID TAG is issued, identification can be recognized from the time of entrance into parking lot and intelligent parking guide system can be activated based on the residents' profile. Parking Guide System leads a vehicle to the available parking space which is closest to the entrance gate of the vehicle's owner. And when residents forget where they parked their cars, they can query to the Parking Guide and Management System and get responses about the location. For the correct operation of this system, it is necessary to find out where the residents' cars have parked in real time and which lot is available for parking of other cars. RFID is very fancy solution for this system. RFID reader gathers the ID information in RFID TAGs in parked cars and updates the DB up to date. But, when non-residents' cars are parked inside apartment, RFID reader cannot identify them nor know the exact empty/occupied status of parking spaces because they don't react to RFID reader's query. So for the exact detection of empty/occupied status, we suggest the combined use of ultrasonic sensors and RFID. We designed a tree topology with intermediate data aggregators. The depth of tree is normally more than 3 from root (central office) to leaves (individual parking lots). The depth of 2 in tree topology brings about the bottleneck in communication and maintenance. We also designed the information fields used in RFID networks and Sensor Networks.

남해안 해수욕장 편의시설의 무장애 실태조사 및 분석 (A Study on the Analysis and Investigation about Barrier-Free in the southern coast of Korea Beach Facilities)

  • Recently, Korean people are more interested in leisure time as the Korean economy has enjoyed the economic growth on a continual basis. Along with it, the disabled people's demand for enjoying the beach is growing. To meet the disabled people's demand for enjoy the beaches, it is important to prepare the convenient facilities where the disabled people in the wheel chair can use comfortably, including the handicapped parking area, toilet for the disabled, shower stall room and am bathhouse. On the backdrop of this, the study has been made on the obstacles which keep the disabled people from using the convenient facilities installed on 12 beaches in the southern coat of Korea from the perspective of barrier free design. This study showed that half of the beaches in question did not have the handicapped parking places. The parking space was also so narrow that it was difficult for handicapped people to access the parking lot with their vehicles. There were also 3 beaches which did not have the toilet for the disabled. Even the beaches which have the toilet for the disabled, the size of entrance door and floor space was so narrow and there were a lot of physical obstacles such as no handles for the disabled people that it was really hard for the disabled people in wheelchair to use them.

지하주차장 빛환경 개선을 위한 광파이프 시스템의 채광성능 평가에 관한 연구 (Performance Assessment of Light Pipe System for the Advanced Luminous Environment of the Underground Parking Lot)

  • Use of daylight in underground space interacts with physiological need for human beings and provides relief from feeling secluded. Light pipe system can deliver natural light into the space where it is needed and can be used as primary or a secondary light source with benefits of energy, productivity and health. To use light pipe system effectively under various conditions, it is important to investigate the effectiveness of light pipe system with reliable monitoring protocol. This paper presents the results of light pipe system performance used in underground parking lot under different sky conditions. Comparisons were made between the illuminance standards of underground parking lot and the monitored data. The results indicated that adequate illuminance level was shown until 4.5m distance from the light pipe under clear sky condition. However, additional lighting device showed be used under overcast sky to meet the proper illuminance level.

  • 어둡고 한정된 지하공간의 이미지의 개선은 지하개발 성공여부에 중요한 결정요소가 되고 있다. 주거단지 지하주차장의 조명환경은 지금까지 양적 위주의 설계와 운영이 이루어졌으나 이제는 지하주차장 공간의 질적 향상이 필요한 때이다. 이를 위해서 우선 고려해야 할 두 가지는, 첫째로 주차장에서 주로 사용되는 광원에 대한 이해이며, 둘째는 균제도의 향상이다. 특히 겨울철 외기의 영향에 의한 주차장 실내의 심각한 조도저하와 균제도의 유지를 위한 방안이 마련되어야 한다. 따라서 조명기구의 간격, 배열에 대한 변화가 필요하며, 운용에 있어서는 시간에 따른 일률적인 기존의 제어방법에서 벗어나 이용패턴을 고려한 방식으로의 전환이 요구된다.

  • Korean urban traditional housing abandoned by the social apathy promptly disappearing form our sight, or ruining. It tells that the strategies we are using today are impossible to fulfill socio-economic needs of residents here. So it needed to find out the strategies which can change this place better to live in. Consolidating the street parking lots fer cars can be one of the important solutions to the area. By using cul-de-sac, after setting up small unit of communities, we will have chance to have a small public space, and at the same time it can help to set up our tradition of people's intimacy inside the community. Most people have their own cars, and the need of parking lots becomes more serious. So, a meeting place like public well in the past must replace parking lots. On the other hand, it is important to re-consolidate existing land to obtain appropriate land size for other uses. Today, the use of private space (house, private lots, etc..)and public space(streets, local offices) is very important. NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) attitude should also be reconsidered. All these negative social aspects come from negative social relationship, thus we should consider them with care and deep understandings. The traditional housing of Korea should not be abandoned as slum, but this should be transformed in terms of the conservation since it is superior in its ecological and energy conservation aspect.

  • 공간의 효율적 이용 및 법정 주차대수 확보 등으로 아파트 단지의 지하층은 대부분 지하주차장으로 활용되고 있으며, 주차장상부도 시공 중에 성토 및 포장공사가 완성되지 않은 상태에서 작업차량의 통로 및 자재 야적장으로 사용되고 있어 과하중이 작용되고 있는 실정이다. 그러므로 시공중이거나 완공된 지하구조물에서 지속적으로 균열 및 누수현상이 발생하여 구조물의 성능저하는 물론 많은 금액의 하자보수비 투입, 민원유발 및 대외적인 신뢰도 저하 등 많은 문제점이 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 시공중인 아파트와 준공된 아파트 지하주차장을 대상으로 현장조사를 실시하고, 그동안 실시한 안전진단 사례를 참고하여 아파트 지하주차장의 균열 및 누수현상 원인을 파악하고 그에 따른 설계 및 시공상의 방지대책을 마련하는데 있다.

네 바퀴 이동로봇의 주차 동작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Parking Motions of a Four-wheeled Mobile Robot)

  • Traditional cars have a structure that steers the front wheels to change their direction so they have difficulties in performing parking motion, especially in a narrow space. As electric vehicles developed, robotics technology especially omni-directional mobile robot technology began to be incorporated into the automobile field. Omni-directional mobility and special turning movements are particularly useful for parking cars. In this paper, we propose a four-wheeled mobile robot. The proposed robot has a structure that can combine or separate robot body and robot wheel parts by using electric brakes. The proposed robot has omni-directional mobility and has the ability to rotate around an arbitrary point. Due to these omnidirectional and rotational characteristics, the proposed robot allows for various types of movements when applied to a car. In particular, parking is performed in a simple and intuitive manner that does not require complicated path planning. We implemented the proposed four-wheeled robot and showed its effectiveness by conducting several parking experiments.

주차실태를 중심으로 한 제주도 공간구조 분석 연구 (Study on the Analysis of Spatial Structure in Jeju Island Focusing on Parking Status)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 주차 수급율 분석을 통한 제주지역의 공간구조를 분석하고, 둘째, 주차서비스의 지역간 불균형 정도를 파악하고자 하는 것에 있다. 셋째, 이러한 공간구조상의 주차수요서비스의 불균형 원인을 해석하고 대안을 제시하는 것에 목적이 있다. 제주지역은 급격한 인구 증가 및 관광객 증가로 인하여 교통체증 및 심각한 주차문제를 겪고 있다. 이러한 주차환경 악화는 차량을 이용하는 이용자의 불편과 보행자의 안전을 위협하는 사회적 문제도 이해되고 있다. 이를 위해 제주지역 주차실태조사 자료를 기준으로 공간구조 분석을 통해 만성적인 주차문제 해결을 위해 기존의 주차공간을 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 방안을 도출하였다. 단기 정책으로 읍·면단위 소규모 블록단위 전환, 주차공유제, 이면도로 주택가 정비 등이다. 중단기 정책으로 타 교통수단과 연계한 정책이다. 이는 대중교통 노선개편, 대중교통시설확충을 통한 대중교통 분담율 향상을 통한 주차수요관리 정책, 외곽환승주차장 확보, 시간대별 주차요금 차등화 등을 제시할 수 있었다. 이러한 정책을 시행하기 위해서는 공공분야, 민간분야, 민·관 공동분야의 각각의 분야별 주체별 공감대 형성이 필요할 것이다.

  • 주차장은 교통시스템의 일부분으로, 최근 차량이 급증하면서 주차장의 안전성과 효율적 운영이 중요해 지고 있다. 이동 차량을 탐지하여 주차 현황을 안내하기 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔지만 영상 내에 빠르게 이동하는 다수의 차량을 동시에 탐지하는 것은 여전히 도전적인 문제이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공영 주차장이나 대형 주차장에 주차 구역이 분명하고 주차 구역 내에 감시 카메라가 설치되어있는 것에 착안하여, 참조 템플릿 기반 실시간 영상처리 기법을 이용한 무인 주차 가용 정보 제공 및 안내 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다. 즉, 주차 공간 내에 참조 표식 마커로써 주정차 중인 차량의 움직임과 상황을 인지하여 차량의 크기, 형태 등 직접적인 탐지 여부에 관계없이 주차 관제가 가능한 대안적 방법을 제시하였다. 또한, 주차 정보와 층별 주차 현황을 시뮬레이션하기 위한 프로토타입 시스템을 구현하여 본 연구에서 제시한 방법론의 실제 적용 가능성을 검토하고 성능 분석을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 실시간 영상 정보를 처리하여 주차장의 총 주차 공간 수, 주차된 차량 수와 같은 주차장 통계 정보의 저장 관리가 가능하였다. 향후, 본 연구 결과는 주차 상황 분석을 통해 주차 관리를 체계적이고 효율적으로 운영하는데 있어 비용 절감과 사용자 편의를 보다 증진 시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

도시 주차장내 수목그늘의 경제적 이익 연구 -미국 캘리포니아 데이비스 대학 주차장을 사례로- (A Study on the Economic Benefit of Urban Parking Lot Tree Shading -In the Case of University of California Davis Parking Lot-)

  • The climate of urban area is an unstable type with considerable seasonal variation in precipitation wind speed, and temperature and it grows worse. Besides, ozone is a serious air pollutant in most of large cities. So worldwide, some of large cities are investing in forestry options to offset their climate problems, but lack of information has hindered comparisons of urban un cost effectiveness to other options. This research intends to study the economic benefits of tree shading of 19 parking lots in UCD campus. The economic benefits of tree shading are air conditioning savings, air quality, stormwater run-off, and other benefits. Especially, this study focuses how much the economic benefit of parking lot shading has been increased from 1995 to 2003 year by aerophoto. Some data on dimensions of parking lots and the number, size, tree species, and location of trees around each parking lot was inventoried. Two aerophotos(1995,2003) were used in order to analyze the increasement of tree canopy in 19 parking lots for 8 years. However, increasing coverage of trees and managing them for healthy growth would not be sufficient for avoiding adverse impacts by future climate change. Additional measures should be followed such as an increase of energy use efficiency and development of substitute energy. For example, coverage of trees help to save cooling energy by blocking solar radiation reaching parking cars and building structures through shading, and creating cool micro-climates through evapotranspiration. They also reduce heating demand by decreasing air infiltration and heat conduction out of the interior of buildings. Proper arrangement of vegetation over the parking lots can reduce cooling and heating costs. So proper planting design around hard space paving including species selection and location can significantly save cooling and heating energy. And a reduction in car and building's heating and cooling costs results in the reduction in energy demand which causes to emissions of air pollutants. Total increased tree canopy from 1995 to 2003 is $8,470.45m^2$ and the economic benefits is US$ 5,282.10. The economic benefit of one tree has been US$ 7.21 for 8 years. And an annually increased benefit is US$ 0.9 per a tree. If this kind of study is applied to studying the economic benefits of tree canopy in parking lots of Korea, it could result in guidelines of tree planting of parking lots. Because the trees selected for planting in parking lots were not suitable for an environment, the guidelines should contain a recommended list of trees. The guidelines should propose the shading percentage of parking lot when we plan a parking lot and contain the maintenance of trees in order to maximize the economic benefits of tree canopy.
