Backward Path Tracking Control of a Trailer Type Vehicle Using a RCGA Based Parameter Estimation (RCGA 기반의 파라미터 추정 기법을 이용한 트레일러형 차량의 후방경로 추종제어)

  • This paper presents a methodology on automation of a trailer type vehicle which consists of two parts: a tractor and a trailer. Backward moving and parking control is very important to automate this type of vehicle. It is difficult to control the motion such a trailer vehicle whose dynamics in non-holonomic. Therefore, in this paper, the modeling and parameter estimation of the system using a RCGA(real-coded genetic algorithm) is proposed and a backward path tracking control algorithm is then obtained. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Recently, smart lighting systems are the combination between sensors and lights. These systems turn on/off and adjust the brightness of lights based on the motion of object and the brightness of environment. These systems are often applied in places such as buildings, rooms, garages and parking lot. However, these lighting systems are controlled by lighting sensors, motion sensors based on illumination environment and motion detection. In this paper, we propose an automatic lighting control system using one single camera for buildings, rooms and garages. The proposed system is one integration the results of digital image processing as motion detection, hand gesture detection to control and dim the lighting system. The experimental results showed that the proposed system work very well and could consider to apply for automatic lighting spaces.

A Study on the Dynamic Analysis and Control Algorithm for a Motor Driven Power Steering System

  • The power steering system for vehicles is becoming essential for supporting the steering efforts of the drivers, especially for the parking lot maneuver Although hydraulic power steering has been widely used for years, its efficiency is not high enough. The problems associated with a hydraulic howe. steering system can be solved by a motor driven power steering (MDPS) system. In this study, a dynamic model and a control algorithm for the ball screw type of MDPS system have been derived and analyzed by using the method of discrete modeling technology. To improve steering feel and power steering characteristics, two derivative gains are added to the conventional power boosting control algorithm. Through simulations, the effects of the control gain on the steering angle gain were verified in the frequency domain. The steering returnability and steering torque phase lag in on-center handling test were also evaluated in the time domain.

  • The power wteering system for automobiles is becoming core popular for supporting steering efforts of the drivers, especially for a parking lot maneuver.   • The function of the automatic train operation(ATO) system is to regulate the train ride comfort during start, acceleration and deceleration and execute operation of constant speed travelling and fixed point parking. The mathematical model for the train is presented by considering unknown disturbances which consist of start resistance, travelling resistance, slope resistance, curve resistance and so on. The speed control of ATO system is designed by considering the disturbances. The simulation is executed to verify the speed control performance and compare its performance with that of a PID-type ATO control system under the disturbances. Simulation results show that the control performance of gain scheduled control for ATO system is better than that of the conventional PID controller.

Experimental study on the Flexural Capacity of U-shape Composite Beam (U-형 복합보의 휨 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, a U-shape composite beam was developed to be effectively used for a steel parking lot which is 8m or lower in height. When the U-shape composite beam was applied to a steel parking lot, essential considerations were story-height and long-span. In addition, due to the mixed structural system with reinforced concrete and steel material, the U-shape composite beam needed to have a structural integrity and reliable performance over demand capacity. The main objective of this study was to investigate the performance of the structure consisting of the reinforced concrete (RC) slab and U-shape beam. A U-shape composite beam generally used at a parking lot served as a control specimen. Four specimens were tested under four-point bending. To calculate theoretical values, strain gauges were attached to rebar, steel plate, and concrete surface in the middle of the specimens. As the results, initial yielding strength of the control specimen occurred at the bottom of the U-shaped steel. After yielding, the specimen reached the maximum strength and the RC slab concrete was finally failed by concrete crush due to compressive stress. The structural performance such as flexural strength and ductility of the specimen with the increased beam depth was significantly improved in comparison with the control specimen. Furthermore, the design of the U-shape composite beam with the consideration of flexural strength and ductility was effective since the structural performance by a negative loading was relatively decreased but the ductile behavior was evidently improved.

Design and implementation of optical identification system using visible light and infrared

  • In this study, an optical identification system was developed, wherein visible light is used to transmit the interrogating signal, and infrared is used to send the response signal. In the reader, visible light from a light emitting diode (LED) array was modulated via modified pulse width modulation for flicker-free illumination and dimming control. Moreover, the duty factor of the dimming control time was employed to control the illumination from the LED. In the transponder, the spike signal in the output of the high-pass filter was utilized to recover the interrogating signal while preventing interference from the 120-Hz noise from adjacent lighting lamps. The illumination was controlled in 26-86% range of the constant wave LED illumination by changing the duty factor from 20% to 90%. This configuration is advantageous for the construction of optical identification systems for automatic security check and car fare calculation at toll gates or parking facilities.

  • 본 논문에서는 차량용 전자제어식 주차 브레이크(Electric Parking Brake, EPB) 시스템의 고장 허용 제어(fault tolerant control)를 위한 고장 안전 기법(fail-safe logic)을 제안한다. 고장 안전 기법의 구현을 위하여 EPB 구동 모터에 흐르는 전류 리플을 측정하여 센서리스 위치 추정을 한다. 추정값과 홀 센서의 출력을 비교하여 잔차(residual)를 발생하고, 이를 이용하여 시스템 내부의 고장을 진단하고 고장 안전 기법을 통하여 전체 시스템의 오작동을 방지한다. 시스템 오작동을 방지하기 위한 고장 안전 기법에 대하여 정의하고 모의실험을 통하여 내부 시스템의 고장이 발생 시 이 기법이 고장을 진단하고 시스템을 안전하게 운영할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 자동차 보급 증가로 인한 주차 공간 부족 문제는 불법 주정차 차량 발생의 원인이 되어, 교통 체증을 야기하는 심각한 사회문제가 되었다. 따라서 각 지방자치단체에서는 불법 주정차 문제 해결을 위한 법안을 마련하기 위해 노력하고 있으며, 불법 주정차문제를 해결하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 한편, 정보통신의 발달에 의해 데이터의 양이 매우 빠른 속도로 증가하고 있으며, 아울러 공공 데이터의 양도 매우 빠른 속도로 증가하고 있다. 따라서 공공 빅데이터를 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 그러나 현재 공공 빅데이터 관리 및 분석을 수행하기 위한 효율적인 시스템을 구축하는 데는 아직 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 불법 주정차 데이터와 같은 공공데이터를 효율적으로 분석하고 효과적인 주 정차 단속을 위한 하둡 기반 불법 주 정차 데이터 관리 및 분석 시스템을 제안한다.

  • Baby boomers who have rebuilt the Korean economy over the last half a century are now transitioning into a silver generation who are over 65 years of age. New silver consumers are qualitatively and quantitatively different from the previous generation and are considered to be 'the single most consumption-leading generation.' The number of new silver consumers using department stores and traditional markets has increased. SPSS ver. 21.0 was used with the methods of frequency analysis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), device master record test, and regression analysis. This research studies consumer satisfaction of new silver consumers on department stores and traditional markets among retailing. The improvement of the parking environment is the most urgent issue for traditional markets because the long-term assessments of parking areas indicate that it is necessary to provide improved convenience for consumers. Salesman satisfaction has improved and consumer satisfaction ranks salesman satisfaction high for traditional markets; however, price satisfaction is low and the distribution system should be improved to supply products at a lower price. Salesman and price satisfaction should be improved at depart stores. Traditional markets should also promote consumer satisfaction through consistent management to make consumers trust information in regards to quality control and production and distribution; in addition, department stores should increase consumer satisfaction by maintaining store systems such as product diversification and display, cleanness, and atmosphere.
