Motion-Compensated Frame Interpolation Using a Parabolic Motion Model and Adaptive Motion Vector Selection

  • We propose a motion-compensated frame interpolation method in which an accurate backward/forward motion vector pair (MVP) is estimated based on a parabolic motion model. A reliability measure for an MVP is also proposed to select the most reliable MVP for each interpolated block. The possibility of deformation of bidirectional corresponding blocks is estimated from the selected MVP. Then, each interpolated block is produced by combining corresponding blocks with the weights based on the possibility of deformation. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves PSNR performance by up to 2.8 dB as compared to conventional methods and achieves higher visual quality without annoying blockiness artifacts.

A Fast Sub-pel Motion Estimation Scheme using a Parabolic SAD Model

  • Sub-pel level motion estimation contributes to significant increase in R-D performance for H.264|MPEG 4 Part 10 AVC. However, several supplements, such as interpolation, block matching, and Hadamard transform which entails large computational complexity of encoding process, are essential to find best matching block in sub-pel level motion estimation and compensation. In this paper, a fast motion estimation scheme in sub-pel accuracy is proposed based on a parabolic model of SAD to avoid such computational complexity. In the proposed scheme, motion estimation (ME) is only performed in integer-pel levels and the following sub-pel level motion vectors are found from the parametric SAD model for which the model parameters are estimated from the SAD values obtained in the integer-pel levels. Fall-back check is performed to ensure the validity of the parabolic SAD model with the estimated parameters. The experiment result shows that the proposed scheme can reduce the motion estimation time up to about 30% of the total ME times in average with negligible amount of PSNR drops (0.14dB in maximum) and bit increments (2.54%in maximum).

  • In this paper an accurate algorithm for the method of successive approximations for near-parabolic orbits is established symbolically. Numerical applications are given for motion predictions at fifteen epochs between the years 66 to 1835 for Halley's comet. and at fifteen epochs between the years 1417 to 1782 for Encke's comet. Comparisons with the standard Gauss method [4] show that the present algorithm is very accurate and efficient for motion pred-ications of near-parabolic orbits.

자이로센서를 이용한 파라볼릭 안테나의 위치제어시스템 설계 (Design of the Position Control System for Parabolic Antenna using Gyro Sensor)

  • In this paper, the parabolic antenna aims to the precise location of a moving ship or car that can be designed system using the gyro sensor. The parabolic antenna has controlled by stepping motor that is a lot of noise and slow response of speed. It has solved the problem which is noise and slow response using the BLDC motor. Also, in order to suppress the noise two-axis control and a separate encoder to the six degrees of freedom motion system was implemented in a precise location. Generally, the gyro sensor is not required to system that doesn't move the six degrees of freedom motion system. But the system will be applied to the moving such as ships or cars. Finally, we presented the position control algorithm at the sometimes controlled both gyro sensor and BLDC motor. This system was tracking that the location of the antenna to the desired angle and errors almost didn't happen when the system was moved 6 degrees of freedom.

  • 포물체란 중력이 작용하는 환경에서 어떤 속도로 던져진 물체를 뜻합니다. 예를 들자면, 박찬호 선수가 포수를 향하여 던진 야구공이라든지, 박세리 선수의 스윙으로 그린을 향하여 날아가고 있는 골프공, 그리고 목표물을 향하여 날아가고 있는 포탄은 모두 포물체입니다. 이 물체는 수직방향으로는 중력의 영향을 받고 공기의 저항을 무시한다면 수평방향으로는 힘을 받지 않기 때문에 포물선운동을 한다. 본 논문에서는 포물체의 운동을 이용하여 도로의 일부가 유실되어 없어진 곳을 실험 대상을 한다. 여기에서 속도가 일정하게 달리던 자동차가 유실된 도로의 가장자리를 넘어갔을 때 도로의 가장자리로에서 얼마나 멀리 가서 떨어지는지를 나타내었다.

MOTION IN PARABOLIC CYLINDRICAL COORDINATES: APPLICATION TO J2 GRAVITY PERTURBED TRAJECTORIES

  • In this paper, initial value problem for dynamical astronomy will be established using parabolic cylindrical coordinates. Computation algorithm is developed for the initial value problem of gravity perturbed trajectories. Applications of the algorithm for the problem of final state predication are illustrated by numerical examples of seven test orbits of different eccentricities. The numerical results are extremely accurate and efficient in predicating final state for gravity perturbed trajectories which is of extreme importance for scientific researches as well as for military purposes. Moreover, an additional efficiency of the algorithm is that, for each of the test orbits, the step size used for solving the differential equations of motion is larger than 70% of the step size used for obtaining its reference final state solution.

  • 포물체(projectile)란 지상의 대기 중으로 던진 물체를 말한다. 이 물체는 수직방향으로는 중력의 영향을 받고 공기의 저항을 무시한다면 수평방향으로는 힘을 받지 않기 때문에 포물선운동을 한다. 본 논문에서는 포물체의 운동을 이용하여 도로의 일부가 일정한 깊이로 유실되어 침강이 생긴 곳을 실험 대상을 한다. 여기에서 일정 속도로 달리던 자동차가 함몰된 도로의 가장자리 위를 넘어갔을 때 도로의 가장자리로부터 얼마나 멀리 가서 떨어지는지를 나타내었다.

힘과 운동에 대한 중학생들의 개념조사 (A Network Analysis of the Middle School Student's Conceptions about the Force and Motion)

  • This paper was made for the purpose of examining middle school student's conception about force and motion. Using questionaire method. this research was executed to 180 students at a middle school in Seoul. Questions were as following; 3 questions about relation of the direction of force and that of motion in case of throwing a ball up, 2 questions about parabolic motion. 1 question about inertia. and 1 question about action and reaction. The way of answering was both selecting and explaining the students' thought about questions. Network analysis was used for analyzing students' various responses. Through the analysis. some types of students' thought were revealed. As a result the representation of their response was motion implies force which had been discovered by earlier researchers. Even though students had learned about force and motion in the classroom. their ideas were unchanged or even reinforced wrongly in some case.

Simple Harmonic Oscillation of Ferromagnetic Vortex Core

  • Here we report a theoretical description of ferromagnetic vortex dynamics. Based on Thiele's formulation of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, the motion of the vortex core could be described by a function of the vortex core position. Under a parabolic potential generated in the circular magnetic patterns, the vortex core showed a circular rotation-namely the gyrotropic motion, which could be described by a 2-dimensional simple harmonic oscillator. The gyrotropic frequency and apparent damping constant were predicted and compared with the values obtained micromagnetic calculation.

낮은 포물선(抛物線) 아치의 동적(動的) 안정영역(安定領域)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on Dynamic Stability Regions for Parabolic Shallow Arches)

  • 동하중(動荷重)을 받는 양단(兩端) 힌 지 포물선(抛物線) 아치의 연동방정식(連動方程式)을 Runge-Kutta 방법(方法)으로 수치해석(數値解析)하므로써 동적(動的) 임계하중(臨界荷重)을 구했다. 낮은 양단(兩端) 힌 지 포물선(抛物線) 아치에 step하중(荷重)과 impulse하중(荷重))이 작용(作用)하는 경우에 관해 Budiansky-Roth criterion을 적용하여 동적(動的) 임계하중(臨界荷重)을 정의(定義)하고, 이를 상관곡선(相關曲線)으로써 동적(動的) 안정영역(安定領域)을 제안하였다. 포물선(抛物線) 아치에 대하여 얻어진 결과를 정현(正弦) 아치의 경우와 비교(比較)하여 아치의 기하학적(幾何學的) 형상(形狀)이 동적(動的) 안정영역(安定領域)에 미치는 영향을 밝혔고, 동적(動的) 안정영역(安定領域)은 아치의 높이에 큰 영향을 받는다는 것을 밝혔다.
