Japanese TQC had been a good model for Korean quality programs during last 30years since 1960's. Now American TQM, which has been imitating TQC creatively, is emerging as another good source of information for Korean quality programs. This paper compares the characteristics between TQC and TQM on the base of framework of TQC, which will help us to understand TQM and its developing process. This paper also suggests some implications for Korean QM.

This paper proposes a method for quantifying the types of quality elements proposed by Kano; namely: attractive quality, one-dimensional quality, and must-be quality. Kano's classification of required quality has helped us improve our thinking in product development. However, his classification is conceptual rather than quantitative, and the conventional techniques of questionnaire and group interview cannot provide quantification of the relationship between the degree of customer satisfaction and the degree of sufficiency of required qualities. This paper describes how a quality element under Kano's quality model can be expressed as a utility function, and describes an application to quality design of a cellular phone.

Many companies have thought that the quality cost is inclosed as the quality is improved. But, this is not so. The quality cost is not monotonously increased in proportion to the quality improvement. The existing approach to quality cost has many problems. This paper deals with conceptual difference between the traditinal and the existing view points of quality cost as the measurement index of quality, and developed the right approach of quality cost in terms of the combination of the traditinal and the existing approach. The right approach of quality cost that proposed in this paper was involved the following results; The approach of quality cost based on the continuous quality improvement for customer satisfaction, and considered flexibility, time, and information when the quality measured and evaluated.

The print quality of a ink jet printer is generally affected by three major components of the printing process: printer, ink formulation, and paper. The result of this study indicated that the surface sized paper with oxidized starch and cationic starch differed ink jet print quality in terms of ink spread and black optical density of the print image. Paper properties, like air permeability and siting degree, which may influence the ink jet printing were also measured. It was found that black print quality was controlled by starch level and ionic charge on the paper surface. Cationic surface sizing starch improved black ink jet print quality.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate various prior studies on artificial intelligence and to examine the concept and characteristics of various prior studies of existing service quality. And this paper is to study the concept and characteristics of artificial intelligence services and propose suitable quality measurement items. Methods: The research method of this paper is to examine previous research related to existing artificial intelligence and to analyze characteristics related to service quality. Results: This paper examines the concept and characteristics of artificial intelligence service in a new era by examining previous studies related to artificial intelligence and derives quality measurement items. Conclusion: In the future, it is necessary to verify the validity of the quality measurement items of artificial intelligence service. Therefore, it is necessary to elicit and verify the main quality measurement items through the investigation of the expert group.

The paper aims to apply a model of continuous quality improvement (CQI) to Taiwan provincial Pin Ton hospital. Tools of quality control were used both total quality management (TQM) and quality control circle (QCC) in order to approach the objective of ${\ulcorner}$higher quality, higher efficiency, lower cost${\lrcorner}$. During two years, this hospital has organized thirteen QC circles that were classified three categories according to that objective: four circles work for higher quality; the other four circles work for higher efficiency; five circles for lower cost. After implementation, several results were found from two viewpoints. From viewpoint of tangibility, one of the most outcomes is to reduce labor cost from 56 persons to 28 persons of temporary employees. From viewpoint of intangibility, the result was evaluated using radar chart to compare the difference after improvement. This paper is going to report the process of CQI for the hospital management because it is a new issue in Taiwan since 1997

Environmental quality(EQ) is one of the most important components of the assessment of "Quality of Life(QOL)". Most EQ related research dealt with overall built environmental quality issues as represented by several clusters of factors related to occupants' satisfaction. This paper aims to identify and understand the theoretical background and the occupants' comparative standards of response to conditions of the built environment related to environmental quality(EQ). Therefore, this paper have reviewed the theoretical framework and empirical research for environmental quality in built environment. the concept of environmental quality if elaborated from diverse perspectives. Different ways of interpreting environmental quality have led to a variety of ways to conduct evaluations. A review of the theories and methods used for the analysis of perceived environmental quality provides a strong foundation for new research frameworks and environmental quality in built environment.

This study was carried in order to manufacture the high quality coated paper. High quality includes not only physical and optical properties of coated paper but also final print quality. In this study, new acrylic-styrene emulsion was polymerized in laboratory and compared with conventional styrene-butadiene latex. Low-shear viscosity of coating color was decreased with increasing acrylic-emulsion dosage. Small amount of acrylic emulsion addition increased water retention, but further addition decreased it. Acrylic-emulsion addition improved paper gloss, brightness and whiteness, but decreased PPS and opacity slightly. Ink gloss was increased with using No. 3 acrylic-emulsion due to lower ink setting properties. However No. 1 and 2 emulsion showed the opposite result. Surface strength of coated paper was increased with using No. 3 acrylic-emulsion. These results indicate that high quality coated paper can be manufactured with using No. 3 acrylic-emulsion.

The purpose of this paper is to test whether prices of mobile communication service reflect their varying degrees of call quality, controlling for other service attributes. As, in fact, service is intangible goods difficult to measure its value, this paper makes use of econometric model, hedonic price analysis. Hedonic price analysis, has ever been applied in public or environmental economics, is employed and produces estimates of the prices (or the contributions toward the total price) for each characteristic. This paper applied hedonic technique to the value measurement of a service property for the use of Korean mobile communication. This paper uses actual transaction prices of mobile communication service to determine whether or not the market functions in pricing call quality of mobile communication service. Finally, this show that the willingness to pay of consumer increases as call quality increases and so market makes prices on call qualities. Thus, major concern in this paper is about value measurement o service quality, and also suggest of the possibility to determine call quality value (or price) of mobile communication service.
