  • This study is for the investigation of form using the aluminum-compound metal frame(Aluminum frame reinforced panel : AFR panel) which is improved in the capacity in the wall-concrete structure in steal of using the existing form which has problems such as, excessive exposure of cement, the loss of labor when it is constructed or disjointed, and it's economical efficiency compared with that of EURO Form. AFR panel passes the KS F 8006 test, and as a result of field test, it's displacement is satisfied with Specification. And using AFR panel is more economical than that of EURO Form because saving labor cost which plays a major part in cost saving in formwork is more effective in retrenching total cost than increment of material cost.

  • The present work is the study of mechanical behavior due to variation of the geometrical parameters in the core of the sandwich honeycomb panel. This study has allowed us to increase or decrease the strains and stresses of the panel, in changing the angle of alveolus, as explained and described below. In taking into consideration the results obtained previously to improve the mechanical properties and increase the adhesion of different parts of the panel, without changing the adhesive, we have conceived two new models, in increasing the contact surfaces in boundary of each part of the panel and giving a conical hexagonal shape in his corp.

  • In this study, a optimal design on the hood automotive using eco-friendly natural fiber composites is performed. The hood of an automobile is determined by dividing the Inner panel shape through optimization phase to outer panel and inner panel. It was performed to optimize the size of the thickness of the inner panel and the outer panel by applying a flax/epoxy composite materials. The optimized shape was evaluated for weight-lightening, stability and the pedestrian collision safety. Through the resin flow analysis are confirmed to molding possibility judgment of product.

  • This paper concentrated on the ultimate uniaxial compressive strength of stiffened panel with opening under lateral load and also studied the design-oriented formulae. For this purpose, three series of well executed experiments on longitudinal stiffened panel with rectangular opening subjected to the combined load have been selected as test models. The finite element analysis package, ABAQUS, is used for simulation with considering the large elasticplastic deflection behavior of stiffened panels. The feasibility of the numerical procedure is verified by a good agreement of experimental results and numerical results. More cases studies are executed employing nonlinear finite element method to analyze the influence of design variables on the ultimate strength of stiffened panel with opening under combined pressure. Based on data, two design formulae corresponding to different opening types are fitted, and accuracy of them is illustrated to demonstrate that they could be applied to basic design of practical engineering structure.

  • The present research investigates post-buckling behavior of geometrically imperfect tapered curved micro-panels made of graphene oxide powder (GOP) reinforced composite. Micro-scale effects on the panel structure have been included based on strain gradient elasticity. Micro-panel is considered to be tapered based on thickness variation along longitudinal direction. Weight fractions of uniformly and linearly distributed GOPs are included in material properties based on Halpin-Tsai homogenization scheme considering. Post-buckling curves have been determined based on both perfect and imperfect micro-panel assumptions. It is found that post-buckling curves are varying with the changes of GOPs weight fraction, geometric imperfection, GOP distribution type, variable thickness parameters, panel curvature radius and strain gradient.

  • This paper presents an optimal design process using beads on a body panel to improve interior noise of a passenger vehicle. Except modification of structural members, it is difficult to find effective countermeasures that can work for the intermediate frequency range from 100 Hz to 300 Hz which lies between the booming and low medium frequency. In this study, it is a major goal to find additional counter-measures for this intermediate frequency range by performing optimal design of beads on body panels. The proposed method for design optimization consists of 4 sub-steps, that is, a) problem definition, b) cause analysis, c) countermeasure development and d) validation. The objective function is minimization of interior noise level. The major design variables are the geometrical shape of a bead and combination of beads on the critical panels. Sensitivity analysis and optimization are performed according to the predefined process for an optimal design. It is verified that the proposed design decreases the level of noise transfer function above 5 dB.

  • In this study, integrated co-bonded panels with the same configuration of hat stiffeners were fabricated and measured for ply waviness phenomenon. Total specimens consisted of 2 types; 1) the general co-bonded panel and 2) the co-bonded panel with caul plate made of carbon epoxy composite materials. The first general co-bonded panel specimen exhibited that laminate thickness on the stiffener location area was much thicker than the non-stiffener area and, there was ply waviness with 0.61 mm height and 3.29 mm length. In the second co-bonded panel specimen, the reduced waviness with 0.22 mm height and 1.37 length resulted in more than 50% improvements, which is due to the uniform pressure distribution of co-bonded interface by caul plate.

  • Under external loads, large panel structures behave quite differently from monolithic wall structures, because of the distinct planes of weakness in the horizontal and vertical joints between panels. Study on the ultimate load and the failure mode of the large panel structures under extream lateral loads is therefore important. The purpose of this study is to predict the nonlinear behavior of the structure using the general purpose nonlinear computer program 'ANSR' being based on the quasi-static test results of the large panel structure(full scale in two story) and to examine the distribution and change mode of the internal forces which can not be obtained in the test.

  • Probabilistic buckling behavior of sandwich panel considering random system parameters using a radial basis function (RBF) approach is presented in this paper. The random system properties result in an uncertain response of the sandwich structure. The buckling load of laminated sandwich panel is obtained by employing higher-order-zigzag theory (HOZT) coupled with RBF and probabilistic finite element (FE) model. The in-plane displacement variation of core as well as facesheet is considered to be cubic while transverse displacement is considered to be quadratic within the core and constant in the facesheets. Individual and combined stochasticity in all elemental input parameters (like facesheets thickness, ply-orientation angle, core thickness and properties of material) are considered to know the effect of different degree of stochasticity, ply- orientation angle, boundary conditions, core thickness, number of laminates, and material properties on global response of the structure. In order to achieve the computational efficiency, RBF model is employed as a surrogate to the original finite element model. The stiffness matrix of global response is stored in a single array using skyline technique and simultaneous iteration technique is used to solve the stochastic buckling equations.
