제작방법에 따른 모사 젤 추진제의 특성 연구 (Simulant Gel Propellant Characteristics depending on Mixing Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 효과적인 젤 추진제의 제작 방법을 찾기 위해, 특성이 다른 두 개의 임펠러 형태를 선정하여 Ionized Water, Carbopol 941, NaOH를 혼합한 모사 젤 추진제를 $25^{\circ}C$$50^{\circ}C$에서 제작하였다. 제작 직후에는 $50^{\circ}C$에서 제작된 모사 젤 추진제 내부의 기포가 $25^{\circ}C$에서 제작된 모사 젤 추진제에 비해 많이 존재하는 것을 확인하였다. 반면, 24시간 후에는 $50^{\circ}C$에서 제작된 모사 젤 추진제의 기포 양이 상온에서 제작된 젤 추진제의 기포 양보다 적은 것을 확인하였다. 또한, $25^{\circ}C$$50^{\circ}C$ 두 가지 경우에서 Pitched Paddle 임펠러를 사용하여 제작된 모사 젤 추진제 내부에 가장 적은 기포가 존재하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • In the present study, numerical simulations were performed in a stirred solid/liquid system by using Eulerian multi-phase model. The transient flow field of liquid and distribution of solid particles were predicted in the stirred tank with pitched paddle impeller and baffles. The Frozen rotor method is adopted to consider the rotating motion of the impeller. The effects of number and width of baffles on the mixing time and the quality of solid suspension in the stirred tank are presented numerically. The result shows that the mixing time decreases as the width and number of baffles increase. The present numerical methodology can be applied to optimizing mixing condition of industrial mixer.

  • 교반소요동력은 장치의 설계상 중요할 뿐만 아니라 교반 프로세스를 평가, 검토하는 데 매우 중요하다. 특히 실험실 레벨에서 플랜트로의 스케일업은 주로 동력기준으로 행해지기 때문에 장치형상의 선택과 동력의 설정이 교반효과를 결정한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 난류역 완전방해판 조건하에서 경사 임펠러 및 2단 패들 임펠러의 적절한 동력상관식을 제시한다. $$Np_{(pitch)}=({\theta}/90^{\circ})Np_{(90^{\circ})}$$ 또한 임펠러 사이의 거리에 따른 동력수의 추산식을 제시한다. $$Np=7.09(n_p)^{0.7}(\frac{b_(double)}{d})(\frac{H}{D})^{0.18}$$, $${n_p}^{0.7}(\frac{b_{(double)}}d)$$<2 $$Np=8.73\{(n_p)^{0.7}(\frac{b_{(double)}}{d})\}^{0.7}(\frac{H}{D})^{0.18}$$, $${n_p}^{0.7}(\frac{b_{(double)}}d)$$>2.

  • In the present study, a transient glass particle distribution in a stirred solid/liquid mixer was investigated using computational fluid dynamics(CFD). The flow patterns and solid concentaration distriburion in a solid/liquid mixer formed by pitched paddle and baffles were predicted. The numerical results were compared to experimental data from the available literature. Eulerian multi-phase model was used to investigate the influence of the density of solid particle on the same impeller speed. A good agreement was obtained between the experimental data and simulation results.

소농을 위한 밤 수확기의 개발 (Development of Chestnut Harvesters for Small Farms)

  • Three prototype chestnut harvesters were constructed and evaluated their chestnut collection ability and field efficiency. Air-lock paddle system successfully picked up all loose material, and pick up efficiency was about 56 kg/h. Power required to operate this system was evaluated to be 8.7 kW with an air flow rate of $32.6\;m^3/min$. A radial blade type blower with 0.41 m impeller diameter was considered to be a minimum size for this system. For the auger system, air was sucked into the cylinder as the hinged flat cover began to be opened by the material pushed by the auger, and the empty burrs flew back to the container through the space between auger flights and collected in the bottom of the container. It was considered to add a device to prevent air from flowing back or to use the back flowing air for separation of burrs and nuts inside the container. The venturi system could not pick up chestnuts, as they only carried part way up to the suction hose. Consideration was given to an idea that the venturi could be used as a cleaning and separation mechanism for containers filled with both empty burrs and good nuts. A minimum vacuum of 129 mm wg was required to pick up chestnuts, and the corresponding inlet air velocity was 19.3 m/s. 104 mm of vacuum, which was about 81 % of that required for nuts, was enough to pick up burrs with nuts inside. Also, empty burrs with higher moisture content recorded the same pressure as for the burrs with nuts.
