  • In this paper, a decentralized fuzzy output feedback controller for the nonlinear networked control system is proposed for wireless sensor network. Especially, it is assumed that the networked control system has the output packet loss and the input transmission failure. For the fuzzy control of the nonlinear subsystem, it presents Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model of each subsystem and it designs the decentralized fuzzy output feedback controller. The stability condition of the closed-loop system with the proposed controller is obtained by Lyapunov functional. The obtained stability condition is represented to the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form, and the control gain is obtained by LMI. An example is given to show the verification discussed throughout the paper.

  • In this paper, we describe a wireless MAC protocol named APRMA(Abitrary Period Reservation Multiple Access), which is capable of supporting the ABR type data service and maximizing channel utilization. In original PRMA protocol, data terminals with random data packets cannot reserve slot. That is, slot reservation is applicable to the. time constraint voice packet exclusively. But the reservation scheme have to be performed for loss sensitive data packet, so data packets can get their quality of service. The aspects of service, if fixed bandwidth is allocated to data terminals, time constraint voice packets may have a low efficiency So in this study, the terminal which wants to request for ABR type service, acquires a minimum bandwidth from system for the first time. If the system have extra available bandwidth, ABR terminals would acquire additional bandwidth slot by slot. As a result, APRMA protocol can support the data service with loss sensitivity and maintain their channel utilization highly. Also high Priority services like voice can be satisfied with their QoS by APRMA.

  • In recent years, there have been many researches about Ad-hoc Networks which is available to communicate freely between mobile devices by using multi-hop without any support of relay base or access point. TCP that used the most widely transport protocol in the Internet repeats packet loss and retransmission because it increases congestion window size by using reactive congestion control until packet loss occurs. As a result of this, energy of mobile device is wasted unnecessarily. In this paper, we propose TCP-New Veno in order to improve the energy efficiency of mobile device. According to the state of network, the scheme adjusts appropriate size of congestion window. Therefore, the energy efficiency of mobile device and utilization of bandwidth are improved by the scheme. From the simulation by using ns-2, we could see more improved energy efficiency with TCP-New Veno than those with TCP in Ad-hoc Networks.

  • Recently, IP mobility study of infra's common elements is undergoing processes to achieve FMC based on All-IP. Existing typical mobility technology based on IP is IETF's Mobile IP. However, it faced to limitations due to packet loss, delays when MN is moving on Mobile IP, also existing network infra - routers (FA)-needed to add/change the functions to support Mobile IP. In this paper, existing mobility problems based on IP and the suggested improvements for platforms which support mobility, quality, security are proposed. It discusses the performance on the current existing IP infrastructure derived from simulation analysis on mobility packet loss and delay. From the resulting data, improvements will also be outlined for optimal performance.

  • A Class B device in LoRaWAN periodically receives a Beacon message from a gateway for synchronization, and it also periodically activates a ping slot to receive data from the server. In this paper, we save energy consumption by controlling the beacon-less operation which is immediately started on the packet loss. In addition, we propose a method that the server inactivates the ping slots of a device according to the amount of messages, which have to be received from the server, to save energy consumption resulting from activated but unused empty slots. The experiment with the 20% of packet loss rate showed that the reduced beacon-less operation and the inactivation of the ping slot decrease the energy consumption by 96.7% and 60% as compared to the existing method.

  • The Internet Engineering Task Force (lETF)proposed the Mobile IPv6 protocol to provide host mobility in IPv6-based network and to offer a standardized technology. However, Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is not applied in actual network because of long handover latency and packet loss problems. Therefore, to compensate these drawbacks, many studies are in progress and FMIPv6 (Fast handover for Mobile IPv6) is one of the studies that has been proposed to supplement the shortcomings of MIPv6. But there are problems occurred in using router tunneling which causes packet loss and out of sequence problems. In this paper, we propose an Advanced Mobile IPv6 (AMIPv6) protocol to minimize the handover latency when Mobile Node frequently moves in each subnet. We compared the performance analysis of AMIPv6 handover latency with MIPv6 handover latency in the same network environment to prove that AMIPv6 is more efficient.

  • VC merging involves distinguishing cells from an identical merged VC label. Various approaches have been proposed to help this identification process. However, most of them incur additional buffering, protocol overhead and/or variable delay. They make the provision of QoS difficult to achieve. So it was proposed a merge capable scheduler to support VC-merging (VCMS). However, in situations where all VCs are to be merged or the incoming traffic load is very low, it could happen that there are not enough non-merging cells to snoop. In this situation the scheduler uses special control cells to fill the empty time slots out. Too many control cells can cause high cell loss ratio and an additional packet transfer delay. To overcome the drawbacks, we propose a Sequence Skipping(SS) method where the sequencers skip the empty queues and insert SS cells. We show SS method is suitable for VC-merging and can reduce the cell loss ratio and the mean packet transfer delay through simulations.

  • High speed networking applications like video-on-demand require the support of switches that can handle very high multicast loads. Switches studied in the past can support multicast loads of 25${\sim}$30% To overcome this limitation, Tandem Expanded Delta Network(TEDN) multicast switch was proposed to support more higher multicast load by 85${\sim}$90% without degradation in the performance But there is tremendous routing capacity that is not used in the series of routing network blocks. This paper presents modified TEDN multicast switches to save the excessive routing capacity. by recirculating packets in last routing network, we can achieve the acceptable packet loss ratio with the smaller number of routing network blocks. Extensive simulations show that our proposed switches have the acceptable packet loss ratio with reduced hardware cost.

  • WLP(WiMedia Logical link control Protocol) is a protocol to support IP services on the WiMedia UWB platform. It defines that DRP needs to be employed using TSPEC parameters when the packets from upper layer transmit with QoS. However, there is no appropriate means to provide QoS when the TSPEC of the traffic is unknown. In this paper, we propose TSPEC estimation scheme to provide QoS for such unknown applications by monitoring the traffic in realtime. Also, the scheme to estimate the effective TSPEC is proposed that compensate the packet losses in the wireless environment to provide the required QoS. The performances of the proposed TSPEC estimation schemes are evaluate by simulation assuming random wireless packet loss and 1mm-ACK mechanism.

  • This paper assesses communication performance using a roaming simulator when roaming occurs between onboard and ground wireless communication devices for communication based train control system (CBTC). Generally, CBTC is defined as the system regularly collecting location and speed data from each train, transmitting distance information to a train, and optimizing train speed according to train performance. When a train is moving, roaming is also performed to continuously transmit and receive train control information between the ground controller and the train. To operate CBTC, packet loss rate should be less than 1%, roaming time less than 100ms during roaming. We developed a roaming simulator to check communication performance before installing ground and onboard equipments on actual wireless sections. The roaming simulator to be introduced in this paper is for roaming simulation before conducting CBTC field test, which is the project to develop Urban Rail Signaling System Standards, being conducted in KRRI. The simulation consists of one onboard wireless communication device and three ground wireless communication devices, and the roaming simulator estimate packet loss rate occurring during roaming process of the two devices. Therefore, if you use the roaming simulator before the field test, you can predict various problems to occur in actual environment and reduce time, cost and people necessary to resolve these problems.
